The bad part was when we arrived 15 minutes early. There was no one at the Host stand. We waited over 5 minutes and I finally waved down a server. She checked our reservation and seated us. My friend ordered the seafood platter and the lobster tail was over cooked.
Excellent scallops. Very noisy atmosphere. Wait staff seemed struggling with two wedding parties seated next to us
Service and food were very good but thought the portions were very small, especially for the price. 2 scallops on an appetizer for $14 as an example
Noah should be requested by everyone that is looking for a
Great experience.
Side note he could do what he does anywhere I’m happy he stays at Stella’s. Hope they know that.
Service was great, the beet salad and cornbread were delicious. Our king crab legs were good, though it would have been a nice touch to split the shell somewhat, the potatoes and asparagus were cold and overdone. Other than the great service, the whole experience lacked a level of polish that I would expect for a meal at that price point. I'll likely go to the Lexington or smack shack next time I'm hungry for crab.
We had a phenomenal meal with great friends!
Great food!
Service was wonderful, and the food was delicious. We will for sure be back!
Overall a great experience. Happy hour prices were awesome. Noah was our server and he was great! He was attentive to our needs and was very knowledgeable. One person in our party left her cell phone behind and Noah was able to contact me to return it. I’d be happy to spend my money here again!
Excellent food, service and place. One of our favorites, by far.
Had an excellent Thanksgiving Dinner at Stella’s!
It was weird! Water glasses were college cafeteria plastic style, yet there was a Porter in the men’s bathroom. I’ll never understand that gig (Bathroom Attendant) because I never carry cash into a restaurant bathroom, so it’s made awkward when I’m unable to tip.
We felt that Stella's was not ready for the volume of diners. We stood in line for about 10 minutes, which would have been fine except for it's right next to the door so my hair blew all over the place every time someone came in the door. There were 2-3 people at the check in, but only one of them was checking people in. I wouldn't have cared about a wait to be seated, just the wait to even check in.
Once seated, we were offered drinks and extras such as sushi or oysters which was nice, however the gal had no clue what type of oysters other than east coast. They were served with cocktail sauce, but no mignonette. Our reservation was for 2:15, but by the time we were seated and got our first plate it was probably 2:45. The salmon was all gone for the day, the swordfish sat empty for almost 40 minutes, and even then it went so fast my husband got the second to last serving. I got none. There was plenty of butter, but no dinner rolls when I went through twice. The green bean casserole was inedible as was the pumpkin perfume pie. I was disappointed that the cheesecake was pumpkin and not labeled. The potatoes were good, but there wasn't enough gravy, and it was just okay gravy. The turkey was actually very moist, although there were only 4 pieces left and the station unmanned. The stuffing was unexpectedly good as I didn't know I liked cornbread stuffing. The shrimp were good, but other buffets generally offer a larger count shrimp size. I probably took more than I would have at a larger size- you know the whole confusion on chip dip ratio, but my husband was able to eat them.
Overall it was a good value, but I'm not sure if we'd return for this specific event again, or if we did, we'd have to show up 2 hours earlier than we normally eat on Thanksgiving to ensure we could sample all of the food.
This was a Thanksgiving Dinner buffet. The staff was wonderful. The waiter was great, always around to help. The food was "good" but our food experience was not so great. It seems that Stella's doesn't know how to service a buffet. From start to end, every time we got to the buffet tables, they were almost bare. As a result, the turkey was try, the stuffing edges (all that was left) were burnt. The green bean casserole and gravy were good, as was the shrimp and cranberries. The swordfish and salmon were only little scrapes left. When we asked one of staff how long before the tables were refreshed, they did not know. As people kept arriving, we thought to go back to our table for a bit, but almost the same thing happened when we went to the tables the second time, for dessert. This time, only a half-piece of pumpkin pie was left. So while some of the food was good, the experience was not so great.
Casual eatery with a great menu and very tasty food, there is a good wine menu choices, considering the place. My husband and I enjoyed Thanksgiving special buffet that included outstanding green salad with apples and candied nuts, fantastic turkey (must be deep fried), remarkable salmon, shrimps, typical holiday side dishes and choices of deserts. The place was busy, must be popular, especially on this holiday when many are closed. Drinking water is served unfiltered, though. Serving personnel is friendly.
First time at Stella’s and Thanksgiving at that. The turkey was moist and savory, and the shrimp and salmon was delicious. We have found a new tradition.
Thanksgiving buffet area was very dirty. Food spills were never cleaned up and serving utensils were not clean. Food was disappointing.
We booked the Thanksgiving Buffet. It is understandable that everyone cannot be seated on the same floor as the food, however, navigating the windy stairs was a challenge due to how busy it was. An elevator was convenient, but it just did not seem right getting on an elevator full of people with a plate of food.
The food was great and refreshed regularly. It was a decent alternative to spending hours in the kitchen.
We dined there for Thanksgiving and everything was excellent. The food was great and our wait staff was very attentive. We plan on making this an annual tradition.
Great thanksgiving meal. Good staff. Could turn the music off
Noah helped to make my Moms 70th birthday amazing. Our server was wonderful as well! I know she had a great time and will be back soon! Thank you for a memorable evening.
Everything about the meal and the restaurant was great. But Open Table’s worthless app sucks. Wouldn’t let me make anything other than reservations for 2, and when I tried to change it to 5 and make it a later time, it kept reverting back to the original settings. We got there and they still had us down for 2 half an hour earlier. Terrible app.
I love Stella’s fish cafe so I brought 4 family members with me to have lunch we loved it. Great experience and I love sharing that with others that have never been to Stella’s
Great clam chowder and the service was wonderful.
i hadn't been to Stellas in a while. i was very disappointed. the fish and chips was unremarkable and the coconut shrimp was awful-over cooked, dark brown, no coconut flavor. The service was awesome and they did remove the charge for the coconut shrimp from the menu. For a "fish cafe" they should get seafood dishes right!!! Not going back...
We were celebrating a birthday. The service was amazing and they really made the birthday boy feel special
The waiter apparently was getting frustrated with us. She was fine at first but then caught an attitude and was very short with all our questions, since a few of us had not been there before. The food was not flavorful and overall we were not satisfied. My son ordered a platter that had a lobster tail and and ask for butter, thinking he’d get the melted butter that they normally give. He was brought a slice from the stick of butter (we all laughed and thought is was funny BUT it was rude) We all just got bad vibes. Once all the workers got word that our table was not satisfied, they all want to start staring (biggest pet peeve). I will not be back there. Just uncomfortable and food is NOT GOOD.
Always a good place for fresh seafood, prepared right, priced right, and served by a great staff!
Great service and food was delicious
Had a cup of the lobster bisque which was not very warm and the fries with the shrimp were not hot at all.
Upbeat spot, food takes 45 minutes to come out on a day that's not busy at all. Food is good but service could've been better
We got a Groupon deal for a lobster bake for two so we reserved a table to celebrate our anniversary. The service was slow at first to get our order but over we put in our food order then things were starting to pick up.
We didn't get any special for coming to celebrate our anniversary and I was disappointed that we couldn't use the Yelp coupon for checking in on Yelp.
Mother of god the food is terrible here.
The FOH staff were excellent and accommodating. We had bar seating during happy hour and our server was knowledgeable and helpful in making suggestions. The .99 oysters are selected by the raw bar chef and, as expected, were the smallest ones. They were, however, delicious and still a good bargain. I also had the Parmesan fries with truffle mayo, also good. I also had a Manhattan that was average. Beer selection is just OK. Highly recommended for happy hour.
For dinner, I had the Backflip sushi roll. Very nice presentation but this was not very good or interesting. In a way, it has too many sauces and not enough sushi-ness. My wife had the fish and chips and we enjoyed the fish but the chips were just french fries and the tartar sauce was average.
Great food and service! Loved it. it was our daughter’s belated birthday celebration and she wanted to try King Crab. Stella’s did not disappoint.
We were there for our 40th Anniversary. Our kids along with the help from our server surprised us with flowers etc. plus a five course meal chosen by Noah. Amazing food!❤️
When we made our reservation, we were asked if we were celebrating something. We responded that it was our anniversary. The maitre-d acknowledged that fact. Our server, Tony, never mentioned our special day and his attitude was aloof and very unattentive to our dining experience. We felt like we were an imposition to his evening. The noise in the restaurant made it impossible to have a conversation. We did not expect any big ovation about our anniversary but why were we asked if we were celebrating something in the first place? Our food was good, but not good enough to overshadow the lousy atmosphere.
Everything was great except the price of the wine. Even for a restaurant the price of a glass of wine was crazy
Great food, server who knows the menu, made great suggestions for pairing and just the right amount of attention. I’ve been her several times and never been disappointed!
It was really good only thing I would say is I wish the happy hour menu was extended to the whole restaurant rather than just the bar as we didn't want to sit in the bar section with a baby. But the food was good! Wish we would have ordered more!
