Great food with a view
A late lunch for our Thanksgiving “dinner.” My spouse ordered the 4-course special for the day and I ordered an appetizer and fish.
Everything was DELICIOUS and plentiful. We had leftovers for today’s lunch.
Food was good, my steak was not Rare as ordered but still good. A little pricy but nice environment.
My wife and I have eaten here a few times before, and this time the overall experience simply was not acceptable. My wife ordered the pork chop and told the waiter it must be cooked well. She receive a pork chop that was raw in the center. The waiter proceeded to blame the kitchen as he advised them to cook it well...which you must do with pork.
I had the filet mignon which was ok, nothing special. Smothered in the house-made sauce. No steak sauce on site. The restaurant could buy 1-2 bottles of A-1 steak sauce for guests like me who like steak sauce with their $40 filet mignon.
Service, below what we expected but we understand the staffing issues Covid has created. So not going to negatively address this.
However, the hostess tried to seat a couple within 3 feet of our table to which I mentioned that there should be a 6-foot distancing. She sat them somewhere else.
Overall, we had a good experience for lunch at Stella Marina. From start to finish the our waitress provided us with excellent service. overall, the food was very good but the special of the day, pasta with Sunday gravy, could have been better. the pasta was undercooked and there was not enough sauce to cover the pasta and meat. I say this as someone who grew up with an Italian grandmother who made pasta with gravy (red sauce) every Sunday for our entire large family. There was a large party seated next to us so the noise level was very loud because of all the hard surfaces in this restaurant. Conversation between the four of us was difficult at times.
Excellent food. Indifferent, poor service. Waiter didn’t do a damn thing and is lucky he even got the 20% we left him.
The Porcini Mushroom Ravioli has been my favorities for many many years. Still amazing!
Awesome time. Great Food and Great Service
Beautiful atmosphere. Friendly staff and delicious food
Have always enjoyed Stella in past, but this time was different. Meatball appetizer under cooked. Had pappardelle bolognese, portion good bit smaller than I’ve experienced in past and was not hot. Unfortunately, service was not good either - waiter seemed disinterested in being of service for some reason. For dessert, waiter just took order for 2 of us and walked away, had to call back to complete order. Passed out 1 menu for the 5 of us, dropped coffee with no milk, sugar, had to ask for spoons too. Just odd experience for this kind of a place.
I should have listened to the reviews...over all I give it a 5 out of 10. It needs a lot of improvement. Go next door to Iron Whale instead.
The piped in hard rock music was extremely loud and made dinner conversation very difficult. Otherwise a good experience.
wonderful food-great service and amazing view. One of my favorites
Asbury boardwalk dining. Great atmosphere. Best fried calamari. Don't miss the "Sunday "Sauce."
Disappointing. Service was slow and inattentive. I guess that they were short staffed but it doesn’t cover inattentiveness. Cocktails were average and were not cold. (Martinis). Food was ok but nothing exciting. Prosciutto de Parma and pecorino were the blandest I have ever had. Entrees we’re ok. Banana by Dino was the worst dessert I have ever had in a decent restaurant. It was a hockey puck with a blob of ice cream on it. The edges were so tough. It was basically a microwaved stale brownie. The server didn’t come back to the table until after the meal and I didn’t feel like making a fuss, so I just told him at the end. He said he was sorry to hear it was not good (it hardly got touched) and he didn’t not offer to replace or take of the check.
Ambiance was good, location is good, but there are many much better choices in Asbury and the Jersey Shore. We will not return. For $260 for 2 people I need to be able to say somethings was good. All of this was mehhh.
Great time, great food and excellent service! Would recommend the linguini !
One of the best meals ever. The Caesar Salad was a thing of beauty. The filet mignon and sauce was so good my spouse wiped the plate with bread to get the last little bit. The wine list included half bottles. Big deal if you are the only one drinking. The service while casual was attentive. My drink glass was not removed without my permission. Left better than 20% because everyone was so nice. And all this while looking at the Atlantic.
Consistently good service and food
Wanted to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather and be by the water.
The first table was chilly. the second table was dark. Disappointed that they did not offer decaf espresso. Food excellent
Everything was great!! Made my wife’s birthday that much better
We were celebrating two birthdays and our server,Brittany, and the entire staff was wonderful! We had so much fun , great food, great service !!!!!! Can’t wait to come back to Stella Mains again!!!
Stella's is a reliable, go-to restaurant for us. We always take out-of-town guests here because of the view and the food is always on point. I had the pappardelle on this visit and it was outstanding. The oysters could have been shucked a little better, but they were good and cold.
We waited too long for water and bread. We had drinks first and the waiter came by twice commenting on the fact that we still didn’t have water and bread. One person didn’t order a drink and just wanted water. Then My daughter waited at least 15 mins for her drink which she finally decided to order because water still wasn’t there. Bad way to start a nice night out with my daughters who were home from college for the weekend. Barada was tasteless and bad presentation. Our waiter was good. Personable and friendly. Overall- lacking so much!
Waited 30 mins for first round of drinks after waiting 20 mins for our already reserved reservation. Everything about this night was awful. Every course and everything they brought out. We didn’t eat much and spent over 500 dollars at this poorly ran establishment. I will never go back as this was my 4th attempt and every time is a waste of money. Clean house or close down. So many Better options in the area. Do not waste your money here. Tourist trap, not meant for locals who wanna support a successful business that is grateful.
We requested an outdoor table we were sitting on a second floor deck looking out over the water the restaurant was not crowded the night we were there it was absolutely perfect the service was friendly the drinks were delicious the food was delicious only wish I lived closer I’d go back more frequently we were there for an out of state wedding
Great view of the beach from the outdoor seating. reserve outside !
Realizing there is a shortage of wait staff we waited for over 20 minutes to place a drink order.
The acoustics are not great and it’s very loud.
The food was excellent.
We were seated by host at a nice table by window but then told by an assistant manager we had to move for another group with a reservation. We had a reservation as well and requested an ocean view table for our party two days before. He made us feel as if we did something wrong but we were directed to the table by his staff.
No apology was offered by him, and he explained that our table was needed for a group of 6. We agreed to move to another table which had an ocean view for only two of the four of us, whereas our initial seating provided a good view for all four of us. By the way, we chose this restaurant because we wanted an indoor table with an ocean view.
Our waiter apologized and when we made it clear we were not happy with the brusque nature of the manager, he offered to give us a round of drinks on the house. We could tell he was doing his best for customer service recovery.
Food was good but risotto was dry and required more sauce, which was provided upon request.
Four of us had a lovely lunch outside looking at the boardwalk and the beach. Drinks were good and our entrees were very good. My only disappointment was there were only 3 scallops on my plate— another one would have been appreciated
We were outside, by our request on a breezy, beautiful night. Servers were excellent, very accommodating to our numerous requests (with elderly parents. Devon did a great job, and we enjoyed our meals. Meatball appetizer was delicious, sauce as well. Calamari was average, dinner of pappardelle was excellent. Also enjoyed the scallops caponata!
Very nice menu, great service and delicious food. Been here many times and will definitely be back again soon
Great server !!
Very over-priced for mediocre food. Drinks were not good and chicken that came with my salad was so overdone it was rubber. Server was good though, no complaints there
The service at the bar before lunch was great. The table service was poor. Food was ok
Wonderful, as always!
Service was GREAT! Food is excellent. My only complaint is getting to the restroom is difficult especially if you have a baby carriage or someone who is handicap, as the elevator is not easily accessible!
Unfortunately I can't give zero stars. Horrible experience. Food was cold and uncooked. Manager apologized, took no responsibility and threw his staff under the bus. One of his staff members came at me trying to start a conflict / flight. What trash. Will never go back. Poor management. Poor staff. Poor food. The manager actually told me he would fire both. Let’s see
