Great service, environment & food! Would recommend
Kept waiting and waiting for service after we got our table. I get that they were busy but perhaps get more staff? Also I asked for a romantic table and got quiet the opposite.
Pizza is very good, and meatballs were Great’
Had a quick snack with wine.
Great neighborhood spot. Just too loud!!
We always love coming here!
Server was not very attentive
Menu choices are limited; acoustics are bad, put in some sound absorbers
TOP NOTCH happy hour menu. The Pizza was delicious.
I brought my daughters and two friends before a basketball game. Service was slow and then I left my credit card there. I realized it 2-3 hours later and called the restaurant and no one could find it. No one bothered to ask the wAitress. I called 3 more times over the course of 2 days. Finally, I ASKED the manager to call the waitress at home and it was in her apron. I did not even get an apology. This was poor customer service. I was frustrated and will likely cancel my daughter’s sweet 16 party there in March.
Always a good time at Stella Barra. The food was excellent as well as the drinks and the ambience was a good setting for a get together on a Saturday night.
This was a great choice. Good fried artichokes, salads, and pizza. Wine choices were very good and happily a better value than most LEYE restaurants. (Maybe someone is listening after all these years!) Service terrific even though it was very busy.
Our waitress, I think her name was Karilyn, was excellent!!! Super attentive and accommodating.
service was excellent and you can't beat their happy hour selection and prices
Loved it. Great neighborhood restaurant.
Great casual atmosphere. Unique experience, brussel sprouts a must for an appetizer. Cesar salad with white anchovies very nice. Pizzas are Napolitano style light and fresh. Good craft cocktails and vino.
We've been here for the buffet brunch many times and always enjoy it. They have changed the offerings a bit, so we missed the crudites, Gulf shrimp, quiche, etc. but overall the selections were great, particularly the 10 grain oatmeal. However, our only criticism was that the food was too heavily salted, especially the vegetarian pasta selection, the scrambled egg enchilada, and the sausage hash. These savory foods did not need the level of salt applied. Otherwise, we enjoyed the brunch, and the lively atmosphere.
Fantastic ambiance! Beautiful scenery. Great service
My boyfriend and I came to Stella Barra for Valentine's Day and had the most wonderful experience. We kept it simple and started off with some calamari, then had the classic margherita pizza with all the dipping sauces. The food was delicious, but the service stole the show. Faith, our outstanding server, was friendly, genuine, and personable. She really made us feel special on our first Valentine's Day together - we'll definitely be requesting her next time!
It was good.
Restaurant week and another brunch with some girl friends!
The food was amazing. The room is small and there are a lot of tables crammed into the space so that was a little off-putting but not a big deal. It was a Saturday night so the restaurant was very busy. Our waiter was clearly busy which is fine but when he did check on us he didn't offer to refill drinks or see if we needed anything. He would just walk by the table, look at us and keep going. We had to ask for refills a few times. It would have been nice if our waiter was a little more attentive but other than that the food was outstanding. We will definitely be back!
We’ve been a few times and enjoyed it each time. This time wasn’t great. We ordered an appetizer, salads and pizzas. The appetizer came almost immediately. After a very long wait (probably 45 minutes) the salads and pizzas came at the same time. Most of the pizzas were good, a couple weren’t great. Maybe they were just having an off night. It was Saturday after all and quite full. Sitting in the back patio section however was fabulous and cozy.
Our reservation was for 12:45 on a Saturday afternoon. We were not seated until past 1:30. We were starving so we ordered a cold appetizer thinking it would arrive quickly. It took 25 mins for the appetizer, that came the same time as our first pizza. The second pizza came 5-10 mins later completely burnt like the left it over the heat lamp and refired it. We asked for more bread with our barrata because a whole plate came with 4 pieces, three times before it arrived. The whole experience was a “shitshow.” No one came around to apologize for the experience. I would never return.
It was very busy.
That was fine as we had a reservation. But even with the reservation we felt as if we were seated after others.
The food is just ok. Very good but with many choices in Chicago for pizza and pasta this food is not worth the wait or price.
Won’t be back.
good brunch for the price.
Pizza took longer then usual. Service was ok our server seemed a little overwhelmed.
Great happy hour. Went before the theatre and had a fun time with friends.
Normally Stella merits five stars. This time the restaurant was insanely busy and service was not good.
The food was delicious and the service was very professional. I thought the wine was a bit overpriced. Overall great experience.
Ambiance and food are great!
A lovely brunch buffet with a huge bellini for $24 during Restaurant Week? Yes, please.
The gluten free pizza crust has changed and it’s not close to as good as it used to be! I have ordered this pizza over 100 times and I used to love it but I won’t eat it again until it changes
Great brunch experience for restaurant week. We were a party of 8. Things started off rough getting seated 20 minutes after our reserved time but they were extremely nice about about it and kept apologizing. Even offered to bring us drinks while we waited, we chose not to but then when we were leaving they gave us a comped bag of yummy goodies. We had 5 children with us and the server was really kind and didn’t seem annoyed with all the craziness that ensues when there are so many toddlers at the table. They were quick to remove plates (we did the brunch buffet). Highly recommend this place if you have kids especially since they eat free for brunch!
Really great restaurant week menu, noise level is moderate. Highly recommend.
We waited 30 minutes to get seated when we had a reservation...
We were sat 40mins after reservation. We were with two toddlers and shown no accommodation or apologies .
We had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated with a reservation. The manager did offer us an appetizer (via a server) which was much appreciated. However our service was a little disorganized after we sat down and beverage refills were not that high of a priority. It appeared that maybe some cuts had been made on the floor and a few servers we perhaps stretched a little thin. We will definitely go back as this is the first time we have had this type of experience at this restaurant.
Great food, truly friendly service. Wonderful place!
Our waiter was horrible. Food was good though
Our service was terrible Very disappointing. I have been there numerous times and our waiter was extremely inattentive. The food was not as good either. Pizza was cold.
