    This is a restaurant to return to for many reasons- delicious and well plated food, attentive service, relaxed atmosphere, and the ability to have a conversation! We loved this restaurant and highly recommend it .

    The staff was nice and the menu sounded great but the food was sub par. Out of 6 people, 2 ordered the pork chop. It was a grizzley loin, not a chop. The veggi pasta was plentiful but very bland. The salmon was good and chicken dish was also good although they left off the tomatoes.

    We’ve dined at Stella several times and were really looking forward to going again but unfortunately, we had a disappointing meal. We both ordered the tri-tip with chimichuri and smoked creamed corn. The server recommended it and it sounded fantastic. It was not. The meat was fine but the chimichuri was not a sauce. It was big globs of parsley with little to no flavor and did nothing to enhance the beef. The corn was full of jalapeños, which made it extremely spicy, yet this was not mentioned in the description. I ate some of mine but my companion had to send hers back to be replaced with a different side. I will definitely give Stella another try because we’ve loved our meals there in the past. Everyone has an off day now and then. Perhaps it was the chef’s day off …

    Nice entrees: pork chops, halibut with mushroom risotto, king salmon with farro salad (farro salad was outstanding) Octopus appetizer with the romesco sauce was nice and different. Salad was a little wilted and was nothing special. Skip it. 6 of us sat on the patio which was very nice.

    I am sorry you had this experience. The cost of inflation is no stranger to us up here in these mountains.     What I liked about the food at Stella was the detail paid to every item on the plate. I had the halibut which was expertly cooked, but so we’re the mushrooms, the gnocchi, the asparagus. It’s evident a true chef and staff work here. Great servers. Don’t miss the grilled peach appetizer or the olive oil cake!

    Stella was an absolute find for us! Everything from the staff to the food to the ambiance was phenomenal! I hate to give such a wonderful recommendation for fear Stella will become very busy and it will be hard for us to get in! This place is awesome!

    Oh no. My Stella where have you gone. I’m a fan and tell everyone to go to this restaurant. It has lost the chef or something has gone way wrong. Good location, fun atmosphere but the food—wow! So bad. My husband and I ordered the halibut and I swear it had salty brown gravy on top of it. The appetizer was salty cauliflower — again, bad sauce. I was super hungry so I ordered dessert. I won’t event say it. So 😏. I hope you can come back Stella. A lot of us locals are telling stories of how things used to be. Not sure why my husband and I had to wait 15 minutes to be seated with nobody was there. So silly.

    I am sorry you had this experience, as we get back on our feet we have gone through many changes. So it is likely that we will miss here and there. We are working on growing and getting back on our feet. So we appreciate the feedback. We changed the halibut. I have heard many good reviews about the cauliflower, and all of the desserts, so this does come as a surprise. But thank you again for taking the time.

    Not like the Jacob Burton era, but shows promise. Menu has great flavors, but some glitches in execution e.g. sourdough tartine was delicious, but bread was sliced too thick for it to be hard toasted like a crostata. Service was friendly, but could be more attentive.

    Very limited menu. Four choices for dinner and the server told us 3 of those had limited amounts. Server was very attentive to the next table, but didn’t even check on us to see how our meal was or if we wanted more wine until we were down to our last bites. Halibut was well cooked but sauce was strange for a fish. Cauliflower appetizer was beautiful and blah. Patio is beautiful-now they need better food and service and the place could be a ten!

    The servers were very friendly and efficient and atmosphere was pleasant. The simple salad was very fresh but the dressing was bland and the halibut dish was overcooked and dry.

    Road noise was evident when sitting outside. The menu selection is limited. Only wine, Sake and beer (one variety) is available. Sammy the waiter was excellent. No complaints about the food although overpriced

    We've been here three times. It was great every time. After 10 days on the road eating bag lunches and in roadside joints, Stella was a big relief, like jumping into a cool stream on a hot day.

    We came to Tahoe for the weekend and went there for dinner on Friday. Our Kids ordered pasta and it came out without any sauce or flavor, just plain noodles. We had to ask a couple times for some cheese to add to it. The chicken was also very dry. Our waitress was nice but service was slow. There were also lots of mosquitoes outside. Overall not a kids friendly place.

    Got the 24hr Tri-tip, wasn’t seasoned much and automatically cooked both of our steaks medium well without asking for preference.

    We were with friends who recommended it after many visits. Very poor experience. Never got my drink, entree was supposed to have shishitos which it didn’t and then they lied that they were in the corn. One dinner was delayed until the other three of us were finished with our entrees. Would not recommend.

    Been here before and thought food was excellent. This time we were quite disappointed with the starters. We ordered two. The cucumber salad for $16 was insulting honestly. They were thinly sliced with a peeled and three tiny tomatoes on top with a small amount of creamed feta. It was tiny and nothing special. The fried squash was good but ordinary and not especially large. That being said the main courses we had were excellent and portions perfect. The chef sure can cook. However, unless the restaurant seriously reevaluates its first course menu we will not return. Hope the menu changes because main courses were great…

    Outstanding and creative food. We are foodies so appreciated the wood fired oven carrots, baked cauliflower and deconstructed incredible cheesecake. Could do a little more to improve the ambiance with a warmer table set up. Quite expensive. We wanted to try the bison short ribs but $44 was too much for us.

    Unfortunately the service was slow, the food, though flavorful and well presented, felt overpriced for relatively small portions. For our table of four, two meals were cold, one was hot, and the other was not delivered to the table at the same time, leading to a wonky experience.

    The food was fun, lively and absolutely delish!! The service was wonderful - we had the best time celebrating my mothers birthday here. With 2 vegans in the group who were extremely well catered to and our 9 year old totally enjoyed his "small person" meal we cant wait to go back!

    Stella has my favorite open table + local natural organic ingredient concept. The tenderness and juiciness are just just to the point, not over or under at all. Plus I also see lots of surprise in their food design. For example, I had the deconstructed cheesecake that makes a normal cheesecake like an art. The concetp is to construct the ingredient in your month. Love to at least come here once a month.
