The small plates were great: heirloom tomatoes w/stracciatella cheese, roasted Brussel sprouts, hamachi sashimi. The fried chicken with pickels was good. The chef visited to get feedback on the meal.

GM and chef were amazing, as was the server. I like that you feel part of the family and they have a menu that can fit vegan to veggie to meat lover. Wine by the glass is reasonable. Chef is creative and personable. New updated fall menu.

We had a really poor experience. I was taking my GF out for her bday and she had never been to Stella’s before. We arrived right on time for our 5:45 reservation. No one was in the restaurant except one other table. I asked if we could be seated in one of the open booths and was told those were reserved for someone else. I didn’t see anywhere on Open Table where we could reserve a booth so I guess some guests are more important than others?? We ordered 4 small plates. One of the plates: Brussels sprouts were way undercooked to where I couldn’t even saw my way through them with my knife. Waitress took the full bowl away without asking for feedback on them or suggesting to remake them. At the end of our dinner, after we had already paid the check and only had a couple sips left in our wine glasses, the Manager, Tyler (or Taylor??) came by at 7:14 to advise us that he had other reservations for the table. We hadn’t even been there for 1.5 hours yet and obviously we were leaving. Additionally, there were 3 other 4 tops open in the restaurant As we were waking out, I kindly asked manager if I could talk to him outside to express our dissatisfaction. He said Yes, can you give me a minute? We waited outside for 5-7 minutes while watching the manager walk past us numerous times. I finally went back into the restaurant and asked manager for his name. He said, did you want to talk to me?? We shared with him our poor experience and he never apologized but instead said he needed to adhere to a strict schedule to allow his other customers their reservations. We hadn’t over overstayed our reservation and there were other open tables in the restaurant. I have worked in restaurants my whole life and never been treated so unprofessionally and rudely. My family and I used to frequent this establishment but will never return. .

Good day, I am sorry about your recent visit at Stella. Typically we give special occasions the booths for example anniversary's and birthdays other than that it is first come first served. The night of your visit we had a mix of birthdays and anniversary's so the booths were reserved for said occasions. Unfortunately for your reservation there was nothing noted of a birthday so we were unaware of situation. We apologize about the Brussels and that should have been addressed. I believe the manager Tyler did stop by your table multiple times to check in and there were no issues. We apologize about the limited amount of space in Stella and I assume that if there were that many open tables the situation of advising you that the next party for that table was here would have never happened.

Chef Jessie was so accommodating to gluten free and celiac needs. Food was delicious and he even surprised my girlfriend with a gluten free birthday cake. Highly recommend this spot!!

The head chef Jesse Frate is so creative with his food. He loves to come out to your table and talk about it. Where it’s from how it’s cooked and why it’s on the menu. Our server Gina, from Romania, was delightful. Others at the front of the house were also great. Can’t remember their names. This is a must. Best food in Truckee for sure.

The food was good, but was not worth the cost. For what we paid I would expect a higher quality of service.

Waited 45 minutes just to have the waiter come to our table. Then we ordered and waited another 45 minutes for our food. The when the meals finally came out the waiter informed me that they ran out of the dish I ordered. So my wife and I had to share a single main dish. 3 hours later we left and I had dinner at home.

This restaurant was our worst Tahoe restaurant experience ever. Although the food itself tastes good, due to lack of wait staff, by the time food gets to your table, it is cold! I knew it was a bad sign when we walked in and they had five plates of food on the counter ready to be delivered to tables but nobody to take the food. For a “fancy” restaurant where all plates are above $40 (except for$20+ burgers) you would expect that at least they have a warmer or a warmer lamp to keep the food warm. If you are staying at the hotel and this place is convenient by all means go there. However, if you want to truly taste what restaurants have to offer in this area go somewhere else. They have no view, and ambience is nothing special. They have a very limited wine selection and two options for beer. I might have missed it but don’t remember seeing any cocktails. We waited for 30 minutes for anyone to come over and get our order for appetizers. Although we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday we decided not to get a desert (two options flourless chocolate cake and some sort of citrus cake) as neither options looked good, they were overpriced and really could not imagine sitting there for another 30 minutes to get our desert and a cold tea/cold coffee.

Vida, Thank you for the honest review. We are going through a reconstructive phase and there are a few things that are very important like heat lamps and adequate staff members. We hope you will consider give Stella another chance in the future.

I feel like the could have used another server or busboy. They seemed a bit shorthanded, and as a result the service suffered a bit, although it got better as the night went along. Food was very good. We hadnt been here in a while, but we will definitely go back
