Nice place for a business, family meal. Food and service are good.
Wanted Italian and tough to find an open table on a Saturday night in the Theater district. Hard to find in Macy’s, were sat without menus, took a while to even order drinks, and the menu was limited. Ended up ordering a $58 lasagna which was soggy. The restaurant was pretty and we ended up getting half off of our check because of how displeased we were but would recommend looking elsewhere or make the trip to Little Italy for good food.
Been to Stella 34 several times and has always been wonderful. This time, not so much.
Bartender and drinks at the bar were fine, drinks brought to table were watered down, very little alcohol.
Our server was terrible. She came to the table and asked if we were ready to order, not if we wanted drinks. We ordered the terrible drinks when she brought them she didn't clear the table of my previous cocktail glass. We were never told if there were any specials and no bread or oil were brought to the table.
We eventually ordered a bottle of wine as the cocktails were awful. When the wine and glasses were brought, she left the cocktail glasses on the table. She never really checked in to see how things were or if we needed anything. I was embarrassed as I was the one who told the others what a great spot this was. The whole thing was very disappointing.
As always, the food and the service was impeccable.
My only complaint is that Stella 34 removed the complimentary bread slices and replaced it with a loaf of bread available on the menu. A full loaf is more than a table of 2 require.
Good Restaurant need more signs in Macy’s to help find it. All dishes did not arrive together soup came last
Excellent. Who’d a thunk it; a great Italian restaurant in Macy’s?!?!? Well it is true, very true!
Excellent but portions too small.Food however was delicious.
Such a lovely setting and very convent to MSG. Was so pleasantly surprised!
Excellent service and food. Great place if you have tickets for msg.
Been a few times as it one of my favorite restaurants. No longer offer bread basket b4 dinner which I miss & there are new servers, miss some of the older staff members.
Perfect spot in NYC for meeting friends who you haven’t seen in 20 years!
Majorly Overpriced. Bland food. Bad service. Would not recommend.
Gem of a straight-up Italian restaurant on top of Macy's Herald Square. Reasonably quiet and well priced. Food isn't astonishing in any way, but it's very solid with high quality ingredients.
Ok food but waiter brought pizzas whilst we were still eating starters and had to go and ask for fresh cutlery which was not cool
Lovely views overlooking Herald Square. Great view of Empire State Building. Very busy even on Wednesday night. High noise level. Food was good. Opted for salad and small plates that we shared
I went to Stella for my birthday. They did their best to accommodate me and my friends (party of 12). The service was excellent and the food delicious.
When we asked for bread we were told that they no longer provided bread but a loaf could be purchased for the table for$8.00.
In trying to save money, increase profits and avoid waste I think the restaurant is making a serious mistake.
As a long time customer I will not return to this restaurant while this policy is in effect dispite the excellent food.
Great food and nice ambiance. Our waiter was nice, but usually nowhere to be found. When served the wrong appetizer, we tried to find anyone to correct the mistake—the one we caught was rude, turned to find the guy who served it instead of just apologizing and smiling as he rectified the problem. That part was a shame, but if you want great food and a lovely atmosphere, go.
Tried the restaurant week menu and was not impressed at all. Previously I visited and their regular prix fixe was much better priced, portioned and tasted much better than the restaurant week menu. Unfortunately they were not offering their regular prix fixe at this time. I would not visit again.
Overall Stella 34 is a good value. Ambiance is great and food is good as well. We had the lasagna for 2 which was really for 4 people - be aware unless you want to take it home.
i usually dont like italian food much cuz they tend to be the same and quality is okay... BUT stella 34 was totally different from other places! it was So good! i would love to come back again.
A great option for dinner prior to a MSG event. Service was attentive and the ricotta fritters dish was delicious!
The Eggplant Parmigiana was excellent. Pleasantly surprised with the restaurant.
Beautiful restaurant and good food!
Overall the quality of the food was good, but we felt rushed out when we finished our meal. After the table was cleared, the waiter did not ask if we wanted coffee or desert. My friend and I just wanted to catch up and we ended up going to another place for coffee.
Wait staff very good.
Stella 34 is my go-to lunch place when I have visitors. I work 3 minutes away and I am able to take a 1-hour break and still get to see my visitors
Very dissatisfied. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad....it was tasteless and I don’t think there was more than 3 small pieces of chicken in the salad. They discontinued the bread and that was disappointing.
Portions are way too small for the prices charged. The food is good but I walked out hungry.
But only recommending with the caveat that service can be wonky at times. Long waits between courses. Some food came out cold. Flavors were good. A bit pricey - dessert was very good.
We happened to be celebrating a special occasion and asked them to recognize it in our reservation... they did not.
Was there twice within 3 days and food was better first time around.
Always when in Ny is a sure stop
Consistent great food special the pizza
Good food and good wine!!!
beautiful big restaurant, but didn't care for the food.
The server was uninterested. No personality just robot like. Ignored us for some time when we first got there. After she took our orders we never saw her again till check time. Impersonal.
Great service and great food.
Concert at MSG.
I'm not sure. The food was cold
and the staff did not pay attention.
After eating at this restaurant for years I am never coming back. The hostess was so rude when I arrived on July 12 at 5:00pm for my reservation. Maybe it was because I had a child with me, although she did make a comment under her breath that my reservation was an OpenTable reservation. The place was basically empty and she walked me all the way to the back the restaurant to a table by the service kitchen. When I questioned her about another table she said take it or leave it. So I left. They need to work on the training of the front of the house... or else just rely on the fact there is always another tourist coming through the door and continue to not care....
Good place for a business lunch. I will return.
