   When I am paying $25+ for an entree I expect the food to be outstanding. The food we ate was mediocre. I would not eat here again. Our server was amazing. She made conversation and was polite and quick with service. A+ for that.

   We were celebrating my co-worker’s 50th birthday last night and must say, we were rather disappointed. We arrived 20 minutes prior to our reservation and checked in with the hostess. We told her we would be at the bar having a drink and to let us know when our table was ready. 10 minutes after our reservation was to begin, I checked in with the hostess and she said she thought we were going to eat at the bar and gave our table away. At this point I reminded her of our exchange words upon arrival and that we would be at the bar having a drink. She disagreed with me and explained they were completely booked. I told her the reason one makes a reservation is to guarantee a table and no point did I tell her we were “eating” at the bar. That was an assumption on her part. I pitched enough of a fit, without raising my voice, that she found a table for us and was obviously displeased with us based on her attitude. Then dinner - we ordered 2 appetizers - garlic bread and arancini. The bread was great, the cheese in the middle of the arancini was cold, not even warm. We both ordered the same entree and it was delicious and unfortunately, lukewarm. We had a delightful server, Maria, but our meal wasn’t timed properly, as the appetizers and entree’s came within minutes of each other and we felt rushed to eat while the food was still warm, not hot. I have eaten at this restaurant numerous times and it has always been good. After last night I’m thinking I won’t be returning. It’s unfortunate as it’s a great location with a great menu.

    We went for my daughters birthday, nice casual dinner. And then the food was slow to come out but, all of the wait staff was super nice. They really made up for it with a birthday dessert. I would definitely recommend.

    Stella 34 is an oasis in the middle of the City. It's a REAL restaurant on the 6th floor within the world's largest store -- meaning, it's not simply put there as a convenience for shoppers to grab a bite. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that it's just a bit overpriced, but nothing outrageous. Last night we had the wood roasted veggies to start, and they were excellent. My friend had the branzino and I had the arugula salad topped with a large piece of moist and flavorful chicken. Both meals were quite good. We were taken aback by the $8 charge for the bread course, but it was a hot round loaf of sourdough and it too was top-tier. The service, BTW, was friendly and efficient. But aside from the good food, the real draw for me has always been the view; large windows overlook Herald Square, making it a perfect spot to bring your out-of-town friends.

    Whenever I fly into NYC for a weekend, I always make plans to meet up with friends, family for lunch at Stella's. I must have my meatballs and fried calamari. Makes my trip worthwhile. The service is excellent. Bryan

    Unfortunately this place has gone down hill since our last visit. No server for our table. Waited 15min for someone to acknowledge us. Then pasta was way undercooked and soupy. After dropping off food, no one came to check so we could tell them about the pasta. The manager was very kind and tried to help. She was the one who had to take our order but she was busy trying to accommodate other tables as well. Totally different experience than the last time we were there about 3 years ago. Cannot recommend.

    We have always enjoyed this restaurant after shopping at Macys. On this day we ordered the usual -veal meatballs and the beef ragu. The meatballs used to be smaller and delicate. This time they were larger and a knife was needed to cut them. The ragu looked appealing but this time was very soupy with absolutely no taste. Almost like someone watered it down! I would still recommend this restaurant but order something else! Service was wonderful as usual

    Surprised that the food was actually pretty good. Had a fabulous kale salad with blood orange slices and walnuts that was beautifully plated. Their Tiramisu was also excellent, unlike the Panna Cotta, which I would avoid. The bronzino was flavorful as was their generously portioned pizza. Not crazy about walking through Macy's store, but there is an elevator that brings you directly to the café if interested.

    Our salad did not look very good. Wilted lettuce, not plated very nicely! Asked the server to bring another one, which she did, but it wasn’t much different! Even the server said the salads usually looked better! Pizza was fine!

    I didn't even realize there was a restaurant in Macy's Herald Square but was pleasantly surprised by this spot. Everything was extremely tasty from the calamari and burrata appetizers (which was sufficient for the 3 of us), and my Shrimp Risotto was seriously good considering this dish can easily be a hit or miss. They didn't skimp on the shrimp and the risotto texture and flavors was just perfect. And our server's recommendation on their version of Moscow Mule didn't disappoint either! Will gladly revisit.

    It was pricier than pre-COVID. My guest remarked that her drink was not strong enough for a Cosmo but the server did not remedy the situation. For an Italian restaurant to charge for bread I found that odd. Hopefully Stella will get her groove back!

    The location atop Macy's is exceptional, and the views are outstanding. Be sure to check out the street scene below. The octopus is a great appetizer, and the fish was quite tasty. Drinks are really nice although a bit pricey. Stella is a nice place for an after work dinner and the bar is a great place to meet friends.

    Whenever I'm in the 34th Street area of New York City Stella 34 Trattoria is my go-to restaurant. The ambiance is exactly what I'm looking for. The food is excellent. They have a beautiful bar with a skilled bartender. I'm always impressed when I have lunch or dinner at Stella. I strongly recommend it.

    This is a gem of a restaurant! The view is priceless. We were seated at a window, as requested on my reservation. Our server was so very pleasant, efficient and courteous. The only item that was disappointing was the faro+ salad. Definitely lacking in eye appeal and taste. Unfortunately the kitchen did not send out the extra ordered chicken for that salad. Our server offered to get it, but we decided that it would not help the dish. The eggplant parmigiana is worth a return trip!!!

    Good authentic Italian menu, even for lunch ! We had the 2 course Prix Fix menu with a glass of wine for $7, a bargain ! Plus an unbeatable view to match the ambiance.
