Stella 34 Trattoria
Book your next event with us
Need to book at 10:15 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Restaurant is great and although it is inside Macy's it doesnt feel part of a department store.
Views of the Empire State Building are great and staff superb.
Ordered the lasagna to share and had to play hunt the meat so definitely not worth the $58!!!
Birthday dinner for my aunt. Food was excellent but there wasn’t a lot to chose from.
Perfect on all accounts. We will visit again. Lovely menu choices. Also good for our grandsons, ages 5 and 9. Especially nice was its being close to Penn Station.
Service was excellent. A little pricy for such a limited menu, the food was ok. Won’t be going back. Not worth it.
I had the Branzino and Pane Al Forno. Both were delicious! I have been here many times and will be back. Food is consistently good!
Came to Stella 34 for Saturday prix fixe brunch, which was an excellent deal. 2 almost full size courses followed by dessert. The food is fresh and tasted very good. We were stuffed. It's not crowded there on Saturdays so we had an attentive waitstaff, plus a nice quiet leisurely time to catch up. My friend who hadn't been there before was impressed and said she thought it was a return location!
Greg place to go when at MSG event. Re meal, potatoes and mushrooms for tenderloin steak meal were over cooked.
Otherwise all was VG.
The food was excellent with a wonderful, innovative selection.
Best servers, hot food & an amazing view of the Empire State Building.
The food was great. The service was wonderful and quick too. Very close to our theatre. Would definitely recommend
It pains me to say this, but Stella 34 has gone massively downhill in the past year. I have to preface my review by saying I've been going to Stella for at least a decade and I've always loved it, and so have all of my guests. Something has gone terribly wrong in this establishment. Our server couldn't be bothered, never checked on us, and left our drinks sitting on the bar for 20 mins in our line of sight. I damn near got up and got them myself! She also never brought our change back. However, all of that pales in comparison to how bad the food was. It was inedible. The arancini was ice cold, my eggplant parm was a sloppy, sticky, gloppy, gummy mess, and my friend's chicken was gray in color. I know Patina Group has been having some issues lately overall but the corner cutting at Stella is going to lose them a lot of customers. Additionally, the bread they used to bring you for free now costs $8 if you want it with your meal. My friend and I aren't big complainers, but the quality of the food was so atrocious that we pulled a manager aside. I didn't catch this manager's name, but she was very sweet and comped our bill, so I have nothing but good things to say about her. However, I cannot in good conscience ever return to Stella knowing how bad the food was. What a shame.
Service was slow. Our reservations was for 6:00 pm. They were already out of several things. What we got was more like you would expect at an old Woolworth’s dining counter, and extremely slow in coming. We had to swallow things whole to make an 8:00 concert at Madison Square Garden.
Never would I go back. Don’t waste your time with this place. Worst meal I have ever had in NYC. A Subrette’s and a Coke from the corner stand would have been soooo much better.
I booked this restaurant because of it’s proximity to MSG. What a great find! The atmosphere is modern, light, clean and comfortable. The personnel are friendly and helpful. Our waiter, Tereck, was terrific... busy but attentive and helpful with recommendations. The cocktails and food were outstanding! This will be a go-to restaurant for us!
Always a pleasant meal at Stella’s. We come here often when we come into the city
My favorite place in NYC ,love it. Recommend of course
Good food and good service good view too
Happy with our choice for valentines
The restaurant is ok if you are dining with a friend. It was not a romantic setting but it does have a good view of the Empire state Building. The food was over price, even for New York and just ok. The of the attentiveness of the staff was basic. They forgot our valentine
gift and tried to serve us dessert twice.
Nice surprise right in Macy’s! Good classic Italian dishes and pizza all done the right way.
Food and service was exceptional.
Great views, cafe style atmosphere, horribly slow service, very small portions for the price. Sadly wouldn’t recommend.
I was very disappointed this time around.
The service was poor and it was hard to tell who was actually waiting on us.
My pizza was totally undercooked but i chose not to complain as we were going to a concert and just wanted to eat.
Took a little while for the server to come to us after we were seated. Overall very nice place.
Hidden gem in an area fairly void of good venues for a business lunch. Space is open and airy and you don't feel as close to the other patrons as a typical NY restaurant can be. It also had a fairly quiet atmosphere. Food and Service were excelllent.
Always reliable with good food. Never disappointing.
Convenient location, great service, good food, nice view, quiet place to meet. What more do you want?
Always very consistent with the quality of food.
Service is good. On this last visit, the noise level was very low. Overall, a very good experience!
Excellent service. The food was good although the portion size was “measured”. A very pleasant experience.
Stella 34 is a favorite whenever we visit NYC and they never disappoint. The menu is better than ever and the view is terrific.
What an amiable wait staff. A pleasure. Will come again when shopping.
Went here for lunch with coworkers and it was such a nice place. Very unexpected to be inside of a store but pleasantly surprised. Everyone was really nice, the food was delicious. I was left wanting to come back.
Inside Macy’s (did not know that when booked it last minute) which sort of brings down ambiance even though the restaurant itself is well appointed and comfortable. Quiet and not crowded on a Thursday which is nice in NYC for a business dinner. Good Italian wine options.
Excelente vista!!! Muy linda ambientación y muy amables en el servicio!!
Perfect location to meet friends for lunch - many subway lines nearby. Bright, airy space with high ceilings and big windows looking out onto mid-town Manhattan. Food was good, as was service. Highly recommended in the Herald Square area (which is short on good lunch options).
The quality of the food and service was excellent. However, we had ask for bread while having our drinks. A MEDIUM LOAF OF BREAD CAME. WE had two of the four slices and when we received thebill, $ 8.00 for the bread was exceptionally excessive.
I came into the city for the day with a friend and our teen daughters, and wanted dinner before catching an evening train back. We had reservations following a show in the theater district, and when we arrived, the place was packed and incredibly loud, and I had sticker shock when I saw the menu. I hopped onto Open Table and within moments grabbed a reservation at Stella, not knowing it was inside Macy's, a store I am fond of. We hustled down the street and were happily seated at a spacious, round booth where we could speak at a normal volume and enjoy well-prepared Italian dishes and kind service. After a day full of crowds it was just what we all needed.
Great food and service Meatball appetizer amazing
Perfect view!!!! Beautiful place and good food!
Very nice place with really good Italian food. Great views of Harold Sq and the Empire State Bldg. once inside did not feel like I was in Macy’s. Will return
I never knew Macy's had such a great place! This is a place you HAVE to try.
Disappointed in the service and very slow delivery of food today. Lunch was appetizers and entree we were there for 1.5 hours. Wait staff really lacking in grace or finesse.
I have been here many times and sadly will not return after today.
