Very good food and service. I had a good moment with my wife.
What a pleasant surprise!! Absolutely loved everything about this place! Received outstanding customer service, food delicious, and great atmosphere! Will return!
Would be great if you had a formal gluten free menu rather than rely on waiter’s knowledge
Good. But found the lasagna for two a tad overpriced. Was a very good dish however
Based on reviews, I decided to give Stella 34 a try. When I saw it was IN Macy's I was concerned, thinking the high ratings were based on the relief of shoppers to have some decent food. Luckily I went in and found the restaurant. The hostess, waiter, and food were far above 'mall dining'. Actually three days later, I wish I were in NYC, to go back and repeat the same meal again.
Service was good - attentive waiter. The food is always good and nicely presented. Just a simple calzone and meatball sandwich shared with a friend. I wondered why the price of the eggplant parm sandwich was $26 while the veal meatball was $18. Did not get to the manager about that odd pricing. Wonderful break in a once a year day of shopping at Macy's.
We enjoy our dinner and eill come back again in the future
Nice pizza, a better knife would have been better to cut it.
Wonderful find in Macy's. Great window seat and terrific meal before the theatre.
Excellent service, very helpful with children. Food was delicious and well priced.
This is our go-to place in midtown. We love the spaciousness, the ambiance, the food, the service, and the view. The food is really, really good!
It's a treat to be able to look out over the New York City skyline in a restaurant. There is no sense will sitting in this restaurant that you are in Macy's. I had the lamb sausage pizza and it was terrific. The Rose was more interesting than most and my friends liked what they had also. one of my friends immediately asked that we celebrate her birthday here also. It's good food and a good view. Especially good for people who are not very experimental eaters but like good food.
My daughter and I were delighted with the atmosphere, great service, modern yet classic vibe and GREAT food. The portions were appropriate, prices were reasonable and we cannot wait to go back again. Nice view of the city and who does not like shopping at Macy's??!! Thanks to the gentleman who works in shoes for recommending Stella for an early dinner.
I’ve been coming here for years and this place seems to be getting worse. It used to be fantastic all the time. Steak was under cooked then overdone. Small portion of grilled veggies and salad that was dripping in oil. Yuck. Bad meal all around.
Always great!!!! Fun place on the 6th floor of Macy’s!!!!
Nice food and service
The food was okay. The menu was pretty limited and everything was just okay. The food was dry and did not have much flavor. Our server was great and I enjoyed the drinks. Would probably not go back.
Always a great dining experience plus the beautiful view :)
I ordered the chicken ceasar salad. What I could find of the scant chicken pieces was tasty. Unfortunately, this ‘dish’ cost $27. Expensive arugula. Not worth it. I feel like I was robbed!
It was fantastic. I will be going back regularly.
I picked the restaurant because it was Italian and close to the Empire State Building where were headed for evening views after dinner. Based on the pictures available online, I ignored the fact that it is in Macy's and though that the ambiance would be a bit more formal and warm. Instead it was sterile and lacked the typical warmth of an Italian restaurant. This would be good for a lunch while shopping, but if you're in NYC and want a family dinner, there are other more traditional options. The service was also inattentive... had to ask for bread, they cleared things without asking, etc. Not going again.
We had the most amazing food !!!
very positive vibe.. convenient, quick, tasty and fairly priced; staff couldn't have been nicer
Great place to eat and meet friends before a show at the Garden
Our waitress was not very attentive and somehow, forgot to order one of the meals. We were headed to a concert and we’re limited on time. What was even more strange was that none of the waitstaff said anything about the missing meal... like let me check on the missing meal. The waitress was nowhere to be found. When she finally came around, we asked her where the missing meal was. She fumbled a bit and said she would check on it. She came back and asked me what I ordered! Needless to say, I was disappointed in the service.
Great service. Good for gluten free allergy
Our first night in New York City, we wanted to find a restaurant near our hotel. I found this restaurant on OpenTable and it is located on the 6th floor of Macy’s in Herald Square. The location was perfect because it gave us a chance to explore Macy’s a bit while taking the escalator to the restaurant on the 6th floor. I ordered a salad that was one of their specials and my husband got the ravioli. The food was excellent and the wine list was quite nice. Overall, we were quite pleased with our 1st dinner in NYC.
Great food. High quality. Lasagna was fantastic. Dessert was amazing.
Service was good overall. Did not miss anything, plates were cleared quickly. However we didn’t see the waiter much which made it difficult to ask for a few items.
Place was fairly quiet. Could carry on a conversation without distraction.
Place was a bit difficult to find per the map.
It is actually located on the 6th floor of the Macy’s. Entrance at 35th and Broadway...IIRC.
Prices were reasonable. Good value overall.
Beautiful atmosphere, great food and wine. Open space with lots of natural light. This is my go to place when I am near Penn Station. Outstanding!
I frequent this restaurant. Strangely enough this last experience was the third time my credit card has been hacked very shortly after dining at Stella. I’d like to think it is not a pattern but very difficult to discount the timing.
Been there many times this time the service was super poor. We had a oriental/chines girl serving us and she was not interested in anything but staying away from our table. The wiring small bites area at our table we ordered 4 of the mad two were wrong. When the mail courses arrive none of the staff knew who ordered what. It was embarrassing as I was entertaining friends from Australia. once the oriental girl went off duty our server was more attentive but we were at the end of our meal. We ordered 4 desserts two of them were wrong when they arrived. I told my friends i was not going to complain or bring it to anyones attention, I had had it.I usually leave a 25 % tip at al restaurants, I left a 20% tip, way too much for the service I did not get. Hostess greeting was very professional and welcoming. Im not returning ...it was NOT Stellar....... Ill spend my $300.00 elsewhere.
I brought 8 family members to celebrate my sisters birthday. With that many people everyone found something on the menu they enjoyed. Service and Food where excellent
Enjoyed the view, light streaming in from the windows, and the lunch pre-fixe.
Everything about this scenic and authentic restaurant is excellent. I constantly recommend it to business colleagues for business meals and to local friends and out of town guests to NYC because it is consistently too-notched.
Great food. Great service. Nice, open and airy space. This place never lets us down. It's hidden in Macy's so - TELL YOUR FRIENDS! :)
Food was great but everything came out cold and had to be sent back. The menu is somewhat limited for dinner
Great food. Courteous staff though not as attentive as they should be.
Wonderful and well presented quality food, well located for shoppers.
I had the lunch prix fix of Caesar salad, pasta with clams and a strawberry and chocolate affogato dessert. Everything was very tasty and came at the right time. The dining room is lovely and me and my friend are definitely planning to come back to Stella for lunch!
