Steins Beer Garden - Cupertino
Love this place! Great atmosphere, great drinks and food!
The food and drinks were great, but the service left a lot to be desired. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, but we had to wait a long time for our drinks (they came out after our food, and they were wrong so we had to wait longer). We even noticed them sitting on the bar waiting to come to our table for a while. Our group really enjoyed the food and drinks, and I'd probably give them another shot, but I'm hoping if we come in again the service is much better.
This was my 3rd visit and was shocked at how bad the food was this time. Not one person in our party of 6 finished their lunch. Dry, rock hard bread on the roast beef and pastrami sandwiches ( with old, soggy lettuce), dry dry DRY roast chicken, bland chicken and buffalo chicken sandwiches. Hoping it was just an off day.
Clean restaurant, nice ambience. Would be great for a birthday party or large group event!
Meh. It was fine food, but a small menu (shrank a great deal since they opened), and the whole thing has a bit of an open hall feel. I very much like the Steins in Mountain View which has a better (and larger) menu, and a much more beerhall/congenial feeling. I would recommend you go to that one (and its Biergarten)
Not impressed with the food. Went for brunch; hardly anyone there. Had the Smoked Brisket Benedict... hardly any meat, small biscuits. Portions were small. No real taste. Country potatoes were so so. Pricey ...$16.00. Now I know why there wasn’t anyone there. Won’t be heading back there for breakfast anytime soon. Too many other great places to go for a better breakfast. Service was okay.
Made reservations but restaurant was closed
Very fast and great service. Fun atmosphere. Beautiful living wall and nice design.
Food was great. Service good too. But the noise of the packed restaurant made it difficult to talk.
Pretty nice ambience and service was very good. Food was decent and drinks were pretty good too. It’s a great place for after office hours to get a quick drink or dinner.
The food was good and delivered hot. Slow service, the waiter either was new, overwhelmed or they were short staffed...the house cocktail menu options were limited but tasty( I like to try the house creations). Yes, would go back.
Food was great and we really appreciated the board games!
First time my twins & I dined at GW Fins and it was amazing!! The service is outstanding, the atmosphere is beautiful, the staff is welcoming & knowledgeable about the complete menu and asked if anyone had food allergies. Never before were we asked about food allergies and pleasantly appreciated due to my diverticulitis “no seeds/peppercorns intake”. My twins who are attending Tulane University were quite taken by the food, service and ambiance that they will return while in University. Thank you for your hospitality and delectable cuisine. We will return!! Twins content after their entrees watching mom enjoy her after dinner drink 🍸
Interesting food selections, service was OK. Noisey, exciting place. I would go back for the food, beer and drinks.
We shared the steak for two and it was delicious! Everything was pretty reasonably priced & we love the plant wall! The steak was perfectly cooked & The sides were tasty but very small for two people to be sharing.
Food is generally good but service is distracted at best.
When I got there and was deciding on an outside or inside table, I asked the host how was the service was outside, he told me it was great and he brought over the server who said he'd take care of us, he didn't.
Server didn't know if there was soup, let alone what the flavor was suppose to be. It took three tries to get one salad correct. The water glasses were constantly empty and the server was never around to request more.
The place was not that busy, there were many unused tables, so I don't know why the service was not there?
Service was extremely slow. Servers were
Much too noisy. And very food choice . The beers are very good .
We went for brunch on a Sunday morning when they opened. They were expecting us based on the Open Table reservation, and had a table already set for us. When I mentioned that we had to head to the airport afterwards, they said we could be out within 40 to 50 minutes. It ended up being 45 minutes so they were very knowledgeable about their turntime. The waiter was knowledgeable about the food when my daughter asked about gluten-free options, and he made sure I knew that the veggie omelette had goal cheese (I like goat cheese but understand why he wanted to double check that I knew it was going to be in there). The food came quickly, was hot, and was some of the best breakfast food we've ever had! I had bites of my son's waffle (with chicken) and the waffle was incredible - it tasted more like an awesome donut than a boring waffle. My son said the chicken was the best he's ever had. We will definitely be back for breakfast/brunch...soon!
It seems that not that many people know about brunch here in Cupertino. I was a little bit unsure whether or not the food here was good. But I am amazed at their salmon benedict AND brisket benedict. The waitress was super attentive and helped us serve our food. Thank you!
Went here and they were pretty busy, and told them it was my husband's birthday. They didn't really accommodate or acknowledge this until the end when the server did comp us donuts for his birthday. It was an ok experience but it was pretty expensive for what we got.
We were celebrating my grandson ‘s 10th birthday
The food was very good and service was very nice
Seems like a decent place to watch games, and surprisingly, also play them, too! Have not been to an eatery that had such a selection of board games to play with your dining mates while waiting for food.
We went on a slow day during lunch. Lots of open seating indoors. Service was very tentative and food was good. I would definitely come back in the future.
We were very disappointed with the food. I can’t believe we paid $130 for food we couldn’t eat. The buffalo chicken sandwich was salty and the cobb salad was sour.
Terrible service. Different waiters switching back and forth between pur table and even ignoring us at times. Had to even ask for utensils when food came out. Will not return. Spend your money elsewhere, felt worse leaving after paying for this neglectful service.
Nice place to have a beer. Service was slow at first, but the rest of the evening was excellent. First came in with only two tables filled and 3 servers standing by the kitchen--I suppose we weren't their table. Took 15-20 minutes before someone came by. Not a good start. But the beer selection and food made up for the wait and our server, once things were ordered was pretty attentive. As a couple, we could hear each other, but this is more a place for a group of friends than two people attempting to connect. Weirdly enough, even though it was "loud," we could hear each other--good job on acoustics. My only real complaint is that the chairs are not designed for hours of sitting...steel with a wood seat base.
The food was mediocre at best. Loud environment. Good beer. The bat service was hit and miss. Our actual waiter was attentive.
I will say I did enjoy the food, it was difficult to get a server and there were less noisy tables but we were told we could not sit there they were waiting for a large group. The large group took the large table to the far right of the bar and the next section was totally empty.
Friendly service, terrific beer list. Hamburger and donuts are standouts. Great neighborhood spot.
The food, beer, whiskey and ambience - all fantastic. Love this place.
Something definitely changed. Service was a little slow and inattentive, but hit the basic needs of an overall good experience. Food was ok, enough to not send it back, but we were a little underwhelmed. The mac n' cheese used to be way better (tonights was very runny in texture, and not very flavorful), and overall food was warm but not that hot. Our pretzel and the churro/doughnut were the highlights of our evening. We also liked the new menu design with shareable/communal entree options. Will come back again for sure. Maybe just an "off" night.
It was a great time
I expected typical bar food. But i was really surprised how good the whole fried fish to share was. Who knew? Definitely recommend it!
Great food, Great ambiance, Great service! Highly recommended!
We've dined at Steins in Mountain View several times - this was our first time at Steins in Cupertino. The space here is cool and spacious - cement floors, big windows, cozy tables. It's also cold (temperature) inside. And it is loud. The cement floors and high ceilings make for a lively, loud experience. Sadly, they ran out of pretzels right after we arrived, though a table that was seated after us got pretzels... It took a while for our server to get to our table, and due to the noise, it was hard for him to hear our orders. I asked for a taste of the strawberry beer, but that never came. Overall the food was pretty good. Portion size is not out of control. My husband had the burger (and enjoyed it), I had the strawberry & kale salad with chicken (tasty), another in our group had the chicken sandwich (liked it), and the other person had the fish of the moment (liked it too).
We had party of four reservations which were well handled and the four of were seated quickly. But then we waited for ten minutes before even seeing the waiter. We tried ordering several Beers and even some food which they were “out of”. On a Saturday. At 6:15pm. The food was very good, but expected as the prices were a bit high (yeah it’s in Cupertino).
It wasn’t a bad experience, but I generally expect food and service to be on point on a Saturday night.
Great beer with great food. The place is cute, nicely decorated. Came here for dinner and drinks with a friends but this would also be a perfect spot for happy hour with Coworkers.
