Beautiful restaurant with very good service. Noise level & ambiance excellent. Food ok....priced too high.
Amazing food (we had the pork chops, rockfish tacos and collard greens) and service! It was my fifth time or so back over the last few years and my partner's first - he loved it and we'll return again soon! The flourless chocolate brownie is one of the best desserts we've EVER had, and why I always come back :)
Everything was delicious!
Food was ok-clam chowder which I was looking forward to was a bit too spicy and the calamari way overbreaded. We only had appetizers
Everything was perfect. Food, service, wine. .....all were perfect. James, our waiter, did not rush us. He let us catch up with relatives we had not seen in years and waited until we were truly ready to look at the menu after we ordered appetizers. All our meals were wonderful and so were the desserts. Kevin Davis and his staff are superior in every way
We have been customers from opening day and it has been consistently good from day one! Service is always helpful, courteous and efficient; ambience is lively; food is generally good. Cioppino last visit was superb! The bar is fun! We have recommended Steelhead Diner to friends and they have not been steered wrong!
Food was decent. Location central. Service was non-existent. Automatic service charge
3rd time at this restaurant upon our visit to Seattle. Service was seriously slacking and host did not even acknowledge us for 5-10 minutes. Waitress was more interested in getting us to leave vs. giving us the opportunity to enjoy the great food. Food was top notch, however for us given 2/3 of the experience is first impression we will not revisit given so many other options.
We visit about 2 to 3 times a year and the quality of food and service is always fabulous!
Great food, great view
Fun seats for the THATH free concert!! Thank you!
Great Sattle experience
Took 50 minutes for our food to arrive.
When we received the bill, there was a message that said "A 20% service charge is added to each check. Additional tips are accepted but not accepted".
I have experienced a forced tip/service before without any warning.
For this restaurant to do this is illegal because they do not give customers advanced notice of this charge.
On the other hand, the food and service were very good.
We were royally treated by the owner, who waited on our table when no other waiter appeared available when we were seated. The food was well prepared and attractively presented. The only problem was the noise level that made easy conversation impossible. Other than the noise, no complaints.
Great staff. Great food. Very friendly
Great food and service
We had the chowder to start, which was excellent! For the main course we had the Chiopino . This was truly an amazing dish. We had ordered a bottle of Pinot noir but sadly they were out of the one we we requested. The sommelier suggested two other options. We finally settled on a lovely Pinot from Oregon that was excellent and truly complemented the seafood that we were having. For dessert we shared the Theo’s pecan pie. I wish that we had made a different selection as it wasn’t the best finish to the meal. Not sure if it was old or if it is it been frozen. But we probably should have chosen a dessert that was made in house.
Overall I gave it an excellent rating. And we will definitely come here again. The service is fantastic and the view at sunset is amazing.
I’ve had this restaurant on my list to try for years. Friends said it served wonderful food. Not true last night. Gin and Tonic watered down. Mozzarella sticks hard and rubbery. Chowder tasteless and gritty. Salmon entree was skimpy narrow fish strip and raw in middle even took the chefs suggestion on its preparation. Although looked appetizing when presented. Fish and chips heavy on chips, fish was mainly batter and I had a prickly bite that Felt like a bone! No green on plate at all. Not even a teaspoon of coleslaw. Bill came to $100. Including the 20% service charge they added. Will not go back or recommend.
Friendly service people were only pleasant experience.
Not a place I would go to again. Food was slightly above average. Salmon was riddled with bones. One would think a restaurant in Pikes Place would prepare a signature entree better than that. Service was extremely poor. And since they do an automatic 20% gratuity, the staff can do a poor job and still get paid.
Good food and service. Table was ready when we walked in. Only item was that we were surprised that they automatically added 20% gratuity to the check.
Will go again when we get back in town.
Very good. Regional foods all done very well
The food was very good but the service was terrible. We were rushed (our entrees brought out before we finished our appetizers), they got our orders wrong, failed to bring us things we did order, left finished plates piled up on the table, etc. Outrageously expensive AND they charged us a mandatory 20% “service fee”!
Total tourist trap that I will never visit again nor recommend to anyone. Horrible experience and horrible value.
Found this restaurant last year on a visit. Had to come back. Best clam chowder with truffle oil. Grilled Alaskan halibut was perfectly done with generous portion. Wine list, though not extensive, is very good. Will be back in the future!
I'm a local, but I'm happy to wade through the tourist traffic to eat at Steelhead Diner. Always a great experience and wonderful, local food.
Great food! Service was slow but I think they were short handed. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
So great, one of my old school Seattle favorites
Another good meal at Steelhead!! This time we tried your restaurant for brunch. My husband and I enjoyed our food. He had the gator tots AGAIN!!
Wait staff was friendly and professional. Good bye Tom Douglas. Not going to his restaurants again!!
Amazing food and waitress! Also feel like i need to go back enough times to try everything on the menu.
Excellent food & service. Jeff at the bar took great care of us. Outstanding food and cocktails.
Great spot near the Public Market. Good food, quick service and able to have a conversation.
We were in Seattle 4 nights and ate out at several places. This was our least favorite. Just okay all the way around.
The food was ok but not really as tasty as we had hoped. My fried fish was very under seasoned. I was disappointed there was no Steelhead on the menu.
King Salmon was outstanding!!
Delicious food and great service!
I was pretty unimpressed with the service and the quality of food given the price. The guy who gave us water at the onset slammed the water glasses down which was jarring. The waitress never took our drink orders (I had to ask for drinks) and was hardly present at any point during the meal (others delivered the food). I NEVER comment on wait staff and mentioned to my husband how unimpressed I was with her. Then the bill came and the gratuity was already included! That explained the lackluster service. There are much better dining options in Seattle, IMO.
I’m a local. Been there a few times but this time the prices were much too high and for what? Many places in downtown Seattle that have wonderful ambience, great food and no rip off prices! I won’t return.
Very good meal but disappointed they were out of Bread at 6:30 PM. How can you not have bread at the start of dinner? Cioppino was very good.
