Once a great destination, now a disappointment. They didn’t have our reservation, main courses came out too soon after our starter, cocktails were overly sweet and weak, salads were overdressed, and both sliders and salmon were overcooked and bland. Huge decline in quality for the price and location. Don’t think we will be returning anymore.
Restaurant was very busy on Valentines Day and they were running behind. Food was excellent.
It had been several years since we had been to Steelhead Diner, but we went there for Valentines Day. We loved our food and our server was great. We will go back soon
We had been there for breakfast about a year ago. It was amazing so we were hoping for an equally amazing dinner. Our dinner was good. Not as good as we had hoped. The restaurant was so cold and it felt like the staff was trying to crank us out quickly. It was Valentine’s Day. We were there for lass than an hour. Otherwise, it was a good experience.
Food was top notch, but a human hair was found in the cioppino, so the management comped the dinner which was more than fair. The service was outstanding.
Good food, great value, and relaxing environment. It is a sure thing and I would go back with my family anytime.
Cioppino was a little skimpy on seafood for a $25 lunch. Was delicious but could have used a couple more shrimp/mussels/clams.
Go here. Eat. The food is very good, well prepared. Portions are large. Appetizers and salads are best split between 2 people. When staying in Seattle near the Pike Place Market Steelhead diner is our "go-to" for a good dinner.
The chef has probably changed. In the past the food was excellent. This visit was disappointing. Will not be back.
The staff were courteous and helpful and we were seated right away. There was a loud group of diners next to us so the noise level was higher than usual. I ordered the razor clam chowder and the tomato mushroom pasta. The cup of clam chowder was great, as usual. The pasta was very disappointing and a little spendy for what it was. I’ve always had great meals here, but this was bland and uninspired and was the main part of my dinner. I will go back, but I’ll be careful on what I order next time.
Gumbo was excellent. The other food was mediocre and uninspired.
Kind of a tourist trap. Food was just ok and pricey for what you had. My boyfriend had the Cioppino and it was really bland. I had the salmon and for $38 it was just OK, cooked ok but it was a really small portion of polenta and greens. We won't be going back.
The black cod is always great!
Fabulous! Black cod superb! Service excellent!
Thank you.
Really enjoyed having new years eve dinner at Steelhead. Food was good and service was too.
Another great experience at Steelhead. The food and service were outstanding. This restaurant never disappoints.
NYE Dinner. Great place, great service.
The food was excellent
The Ciopinno was excellent and the service was cheerful. The room is cold and drafty and prices were high.
Just average for the price, besides the good view, it was just another place to get some dinner.
Christmas dinner with some family the meal was great with local food, wines and beers
I always love Steelhead Diner. Great variety, and each dish is amazing. Highly recommend the salmon with cherries!
Eat at the bar! Staff is fantastic. Great touch with the truffle oil in their chowder. Great view of the Sound!
Great location, ambiance and service. Food was good but not amazing.
Steelhead is a Seattle staple. Great service from Aidan and tasty food with a view of the market and the water. Great preplay experience.
Slow service but foods are great!
Would recommend But not if you want a quiet evening
Enjoyed a variety of foods, all very tasty.
Table wasn’t ready at reservation time. We then waited at the bar for 20 minutes—turns out the hostess had forgotten about us. Noisy place with limited menu, quite expensive. Service was spotty. Disappointing because it was recommended by locals.
If you are looking for seafood, this is a good place to eat. The portions are generous and the kitchen is careful not to overcook the fish. Many items are locally sourced, the service was thoughtful and prompt, nothing sat under the heat lamps waiting for anything else in our order, The room is noisy, but enjoy the food and the view of Pike Place Market and save quiet conversation for another time and place.
We had brunch at Steelhead Diner and it was excellent. The service was terrific and food delicious. Great choices.
Food was not as good as expected. Other than the crab & shrimp tater tots which were good, everything else was average.
Great service and great food!
Thanksgiving
How to describe the service...friendly? Adequate? Just not quite what I was hoping for....
Food was great. Our server was incredible. Very happy that they were open on Thanksgiving Day. Overall great experience!!
Ambiance was OK, and the food was good, particularly the Brutus salad. But get yer fish 'n' chips at Ivars. Steelhead uses FAR too much batter and a bit too little fish.
All 3 of us had a great dish, I will definitely go back again.
Good experience, but my table for two shared a server with a table for 10- it was hard to get things on a timely basis
Although, server did not tell us his name he was really good. The food was delicious
