Steel Restaurant & Lounge - Dallas
Enjoyed the Chilean sea bass and the Salmon. Excellent accompaniments and flavor. Edamame perfectly done. Outstanding service. Atmosphere lovely. Miso soup and Mango crab rolls OK.
We really enjoyed dinner but we booked that night because we really wanted to see the dancing lions to celebrate the lunar new year as advertised in your web site; and unfortunately our waiter told us they were not able to make it. But we still had a great time and loved the food!
Went for lunch. Great food, service and fairly priced.
Been going to Steele for years. Not as good as a few years back, but still better than most Asian Fusion restaurants.
Found this restaurant while looking for a convenient place to meet a colleague for a working lunch. The staff was very friendly, and the GM was working the front door, so it was nice to see management integrating themselves into the daily routine. The fish was very fresh, and there were several options for lunch including traditional rolls, cooked items, and bento boxes. I chose the bento box with ceviche, and it also came with summer rolls, a california roll, seaweed salad and a fresh green salad with miso dressing. Definitely a good value! I also noticed that they have a private dining room with a wine cellar, so I will definitely return for dinner!
Food is excellent, so was the service
Great Sushi and original Asian cuisine. Fresh food and great cocktails.
STEEL IS BACK! Go see Andrew, the past manager and mastermind of keeping it running.
We love Steel...it is a hidden gem. It has one of the best wine lists in Dallas and has half price bottles on Monday nights...do not miss it! We love the sashimi and also the crispy beef. The service is outstanding, and Louis is incredible
Steel is our special occasion restaurant. This occasion was a friend's birthday as he had never been to Steel. The food was exceptional and half price wine is awesome (except for the Sunday part). The kitchen was overwhelmed. Three of the four of us ordered sushi. One of us ordered a hot entrée. The hot entrée was served and consumed and it was still another 10+ minutes before the sushi was served. Apps took a long time as well (calamari, edamame and pot stickers). No birthday dessert was presented or even offered. This is not the normal service we are accustomed to.
We still love Steel. This was definitely an off night.
WE LOVE THE VARIETY OF FOOD, THE QUALITY OF THE TASTE AND THE CREATIVITY OF THE PRESENTATION, BUT MOST OF ALL THE WARMTH OF THE WAITERS. THEY ARE AMAZING!!
Service and ambiance was great. Food mediocre at best. The STEEL combo is horrible and a complete waste of money. Easy to see why business was slow on a Saturday night, 6:40 - 7 pm.
Boring, bland Asian food.
Jennifer our waiter was very helpful, she even took our pictures.
Overall the meal was good. My shaking beef was alright, much too saucy for my liking which over-killed the beef tenderloin a bit. My husbands ribs weren't quite fall off the bone but were good. The sushi and sushi rolls however were incredible. I would go back specifically for that in a heartbeat.
Service was only average. The waiter was slow to serve us. The food is very highly priced for the tiny portions. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Service was great and so was the food. We will be going back.
Food and service was great! The bartender made the best vodka soda w/lime I’d ever had! Will come back again
Wanted some sushi but 2pcs for 8+ dollars. No thank you. Left dinner and went to sushi axiom to get my sushi. Otherwise food was good.
Steel was an excellent dining experience. We ordered sushi and their seafood entree "drunkin noodles." All the food was well prepared and delicious. We enjoyed the ambience. The wait staff was friendly and attentive.
The team at Steele makes this our go to for special occasions. Louis took great care of us and it was great to see Johnathan again.
The calamari appetizer is one of our favorites. The sushi rolls are always beautiful and delicious.
Celebrated our anniversary here after locating this restaurant through Yelp. We had sashimi, a sushi roll and split the Vietnamese beef. It all was very good. Our martini was fair as it just wasn't very cold. We followed w an old fashion which was very good. I was wondering why the place had hardly any crowd during our visit from 6-7:30 on a Friday. Service was very attentive and they followed with a nice anniversary dessert.
Soft shell crab was amazing. Second time having it and it was as good as I remembered
Best and most creative sushi rolls we've ever had! Service was also terrific!
We thought the serving sizes were fine and our service was wonderful throughout. That said, as soon as the bill came we were checked in with three times, in a matter of maybe 6 minutes, to see if there was anything else we needed. It was clear they wanted us to leave, despite the fact that there were numerous empty tables around us. It was pushy and unwelcome.
Haven't been to Steel in awhile, but decided to return during Restaurant Week and on a Sunday for half price wine. Since the restaurant wasn't crowded, we decided to sit at the bar. The food, wine, and service were all good, and it made for a fun evening! Hopefully the lack of diners in the restaurant isn't a regular occurrence for Steel.
Terrible service on a very slow night. So disappointed overall and won't be back
The food was fresh & delicious!
Our server was very helpful with offering a sauce for the calamari that suited me. She was attentive without being intrusive.
Johnathan the manager took good care of us, recognizing the special occasion and making us feel like family.
We love Steel for our celebration occasions.
Half-price Wednesdays is great! The host also brought us a new item to try complimentary.
Love the food.
Staffing was low on the night I visited with my wife. Once the staff noticed me, my experience was quite good. It is hard to impress my wife in this area, but Steel did the job. The presentation was great, our servings were a good size. My waitress was very attentive and offered selections after asking what our preferences were. The valet person for Steel was inattentive. I opted to self-park. The entrance was lacking and was uninviting (outside), but once inside, it was fantastic.
Steel was okay. I’m vegan so my choices are limited, however I’ve been to sushi restaurants and still really enjoyed the food. My friend got a roll and she seemed to not be a huge fan. The waiter was so nice and it was a nice place, but I would only go if you really want to try a new sushi place and this is one of the few places you haven’t visited yet.
The food was excellent, I had The Vietnamese beef and it was amazing and my husband had sushi and he loved it!!!
Our server was very polite and had a good personality. We will definitely be going back!
We’ve been here many times and the food has definitely gone downhill, as evidenced by the quiet restaurant in a Saturday night during prime time. Came here to celebrate our anniversary. No offer of a token anniversary dessert. The hot and sour soup came first but half of the bowl was the fried wonton noodles. They offered to bring another bowl without the noodles. Meanwhile the beef tataki appetizer came and before we were finished, the 2nd soup came. Before we were done with soup or beef, the entree came. We ordered the combination salt and pepper seafood but everything was overdone with a lot of oil at bottom of plate. The sauces they brought seemed straight out of a bottle and different from the past. Very disappointing.
Great food, great service.
We had a really good meal at Steel Saturday night. The food was great, I recommend the hot and sour soup, mussels (appetizer), and sushi. The menu has a lot to offer and we'll be back to try some more.
We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter just opened and poured, no presentation or tasting. Didn't bother us because the wine was good, but this is something that may bother some people.
Always very good!
I am a long time diner at Steel, a huge fan of the signature dishes and the sushi selection. Whether you want to impress a date, or host a party in the party room, it's a great location with wonderful ambiance that is pricey but a far better value in taste and health than any steak house.
My partner and I, along with our daughter, chose Steel because of the mixed menu of sushi and other items. The food was amazing, as usual, and Emmanuel, our server, was attentive, helpful, polite and knowledgeable.
