We went on for a viewing party and they had all the tables reserved for us by name! Parking is convenient and the food and beer were great. The service was a little slow but there were a lot of people who all showed up about the same time for the party so it’s expected. We would go back again...especially to sit on the patio.
Went to Steam Theory on a Monday night for the bachelor watch party after seeing their FB event for it stating they have all kinds of specials...got there and there were NO specials, our waitress was not friendly at all, took forever to refill our waters, the service overall was just not good and it sucks we picked this place based on their Facebook page advertising specials they did not actually have, disappointing.
Be sure to check events happening before going. There was a singing event when I went which was really like choir practice. Not enjoyable one bit. On top of that waited about 45 minutes for our food. Everyone at my table ordered pizza and got there’s. 15 minutes later still no chicken sandwich. We asked where my food was, manager came over and said it would be right out- the kitchen was swamped. Mind you- not many people had walked in since we got there. Then my can switch comes out and the chicken was RAW!!! This has never happened to me where I received raw food before and especially after my long wait I definitely wasn’t expecting that. I immediately spit it out and returned it. I said I didn’t want it anymore and not to make another one. They ended up bringing me a new one anyways that was cooked but at this point I was freaked out about biting into raw chicken I couldn’t even enjoy it. The manager apologized and I didn’t pay for the sandwich which I appreciate them taking care of it for but after waiting almost 1 hour at this point and to get RAW chicken was unacceptable. Unfortunately, I will not go back. I had visited once before and absolutely loved the food. The menu has changed and it’s not longer the best of food options or quality it was the first time I went. Very unfortunate.
We went for a Bachelor watch party. It took about 45 minutes to get wine and place our order which was odd because I’ve seen it way more packed than that before. They advertised a new menu of pizza and cauliflower pizza - yet they were out of all crust (on a Monday). The waitress told us they had two cauliflower pizzas in stock and someone ordered both. They were out of normal crust too. She proceeded to say they were also out of the wine we wanted. I then asked about the salads. She said the chopped salad had “tomatoes, cheese, and onion rings” on it. I asked about what the next salad (harvest salad) had on it - and she said “same thing except no onion rings.” She didn’t want to answer any questions. They have a good concept and potential there with the Bachelor watch parties, but to compete with other restaurants in Dallas you can’t be out of all your food / wine, and can’t have servers that hate their lives and don’t even try (again on a Monday).
The food was excellent. Our waiter Max was amazing. HOWEVER, the hostess was slow & needs to be trained on better customer service. It didn’t bother her to let people wait.
Great atmosphere. Food was excellent. Bison Chili is fantastic.
the good - our waiter came over fairly quickly after we sat down. he brought us extra chips for our appetizer when he saw we were low
the not so good - my husband had to ask 3x for sweetner for his tea. the wine pour was very small so two glasses was really like one. we never saw our waiter after our food arrived which was too bad because I would have ordered another drink. the food was so-so.
Great experience, good selection of beer, food was good, service was also good. Will be back.
Over seasoned food. Limited menu. I definitely would not go again.
Slow service when it wasn’t very crowded. Pretty pricey as well
We went for my friend's birthday and the season finale of the Bachelorette. While we didn't see Chris or any of the former contestants, we did enjoy the different drink options. We ordered a mix of beer and wine, all tasting great. We also shared some appetizers that were a good portion to share. Would visit again
Love the beers, the food could use some work. The quesadilla was less than to be desired. Chicken fried steak was sub par for the price.
Great beer and pizza!
We got a reservation on July 3 at 7:00. The bar was packed but the dining area not completely full. You could tell that the wait staff was stretched. Our drink orders took longer than necessary, but all in all it was a fun place. Burgers and fries were good, as were the fried pickles. We will be back!
This was my second visit. The first time was great. This time the service was very slow. We had a reservation, but they didn't setup a table until we showed up, as one example. Not impressed at all.
The food just wasn't that great! Everyone at the table agreed the restaurant and menu was just trying too hard. Definitely do not get the fish tacos, or the hummus appetizer.
Such a cool location and interesting decor. We love Trinity Groves area so decided to check this place out. Service was ok and the food was about the same. We ordered the nachos and Chile cheese fries along with a couple beers. Nothing spectacular or something I couldn’t have made myself.
The beer was really good though and had a large selection!
Cool movie premiere experience with live music and special beer release. Fun time!!
Good food with a great cocktail and brew list. The atmosphere was fun, inviting and very attentive. Just so happen to be Trivia Wednesday so we figured “why not”? Super fun and great service.
Walked in staff was very friendly and had us seated right away.
Max was our waiter and was Great he was very attentive to our needs.
Drinks were Awesome and Food was Fabulous.
Ambience was very cool.
We will return.
I've recommended Steam Theory Brewing Company to multiple people since our visit on 6/1/19. The food was amazing and atmosphere was great. We will defiantly be going back! Thank you!
Overall it was a fun experience, with great food and beer. I love that they offer games to play, we took full advantage. My only criticism would be our waiter, I know he was swamped and he still did a great job considering that. But I wish he would have continued service even though we had paid out. Just checked in with us to make sure we were still good or remove plates. I’ll give an extra tip if the server goes beyond. Again though this is a cool place with good brews.
Pastrami sandwich was good but if it had the sauce in it was not detectable. My wife’s fish tacos ere doughy, with under seasoned fish but very spicy salsa. Beer selection was wide ranging and our choices were delicious. Service was friendly and helpful. Would recommend for beer but not for food.
Would not recommend due to slow service with food that’s just ok at best.
Service: The restaurant was half empty. Chose the patio as it was a nice night. Service was extremely slow. The menus were drenched with beer when provided to us.
Flight took a very long time along with no napkins/utensils until food came out.
Food: Nachos were good but not great. Halibut tacos were probably the best dish but the sides were ok at best. The poutine sounded delicious but came out with cheese in lumps and not even warm.
Drinks: their selection of beers sounded good but presentation needs work: the flight comes half-spilled so all glasses sticky.
Very disappointing experience.
The location is also not the best if you park in the trinity groves area. It’s hard to cross the street and can be dangerous.
The look at feel of the brewery was very cool. We met a friend there and had our 3 month old because it was full restaurant, not just bar. The set up in the restaurant was just fine for a baby, but there was no changing table in the women's restroom. My husband enjoyed his shrimp tacos (menu advertised fish tacos) and our friend enjoyed his chicken sandwich. I got the frito pie and it was dry and the cheese on top looked like it had been sitting for a bit. Their 3 dip appetizer was pretty good.
Good food, good atmosphere. Great decor. Great location. Convenient parking.
Invited a group of guy friends out during my wife’s baby shower. Ordered several different appetizers and beer flights to share. Everything was on point! The poutine is absolutely fantastic. Shishito pepper, dips, cheese board and biscuits n gravy were all solid. Not my first visit, and have liked most everything on the menu. Their beers are true to style and also super solid. Highly recommended!
We went for the Bachelor finale watch party... took about a half hour for a drink and an hour to get our food, my pork tacos had a bone in them, and the audio was so terrible you couldn’t hear anything. They just were not prepared for that many people or an event of that size. It’s a super cool concept with a cool environment but if they don’t get more staff and their food quality perfected, they may not last too long in such a competitive market.
Went for Sunday brunch.m and broth food and beer selections were great!
Really large open space indoors and plenty of outdoor seating available.
Great food! If you love IPA styled beers you are in luck here! Unfortunately I am in the minority and drink wheat beers, of which they had one and it was just ok.
My husband and I were in town and decided to get some brunch here before heading back home. The beer was delicious!! The food wasn’t quite as good but pretty good for a brewery I suppose. I got the eggs Benedict with salmon and the eggs and biscuit were both overdone. But overall we had a great experience!
LOVE!!! I ate at the bar. Service was top notch!! The food was outstanding!!
Bach watch parties are the best ♥️
Best date night ever. We had the best experience.
Nice place. Appetizers great, main entree just OK.
I've reviewed Steam Theory Brewery before and gave it 5 stars and now after another visit for my birthday I feel the same way. Great beer, food, service, and friendly people. They were very good to my group but they're gracious to everyone. Thanks Chuck and Jonathan.
We’ve been to the restaurant 3 times now. One was a work happy hour and everyone loved it. Great appetizers. I know they are still working on their menu, but I was a little disappointed that some of those yummy appetizers were no longer available. On our last visit, I got the schnitzel and it was wonderful. Can’t wait to go back.
Steam Theory's attention to detail is beautiful! It's one of the best Reubens I've ever had --- and the potato chips were really light and tasty! And that beer!!!!
One of the best restaurants in Dallas!
Service was very slow, didn’t even look that busy for the holiday. They allow smoking right at the door so we got to enjoy smoke blowing into our area while eating dinner. Wasn’t impressed with the food selection. I did enjoy the variety of beer they brew, but would’ve liked some other options on beer types they don’t brew. Would probably give one more chance but won’t go out of my way to go here.
