   Our dining experience was superb. We were on our first date with Tara as our server. She was so attentive, and knowledgeable about the foods. From the hostesses greeting to the end of the meal, it was a wonderful experience.

   Overpriced. Bruch was $44 per person and $25 per kid... plus drinks. My kids did not eat $25 worth and they could've given me a free coffee with my $44 lunch. I am sure I did not eat my values worth. It was $400 for 5 adults and 2 kids.

   We went to steam for the mothers day special. The buffet food selection was as advertised on the menu. The prepared hot bar items were luke warm. The serving utensils and the utensil rests needed to be changed out more often. The food items were kept well stocked for the most part. Two of the three chefs serving hot items were clearly miserable and did not want to be there. I don't blame them but hey, part of the job is to fake it. Our server was friendly but did not clear plates until asked or offer drink refills. 20% gratuity was added to the bill for our party of four. I personally tip that or more unless the service is absolutely horrinle but I was shocked to see it, especially at a buffet for a small party. It was priced fair for what it was, $44 per adult, $22 kid over 6, $12 kid 6 and under but I just expected better overall service/experience for what it was.

   The buffet was nice. The food was nice for a buffet. Options were somewhat limited especially for the price. The service was fair at best. The mandatory 20% gratuity for a party of 4 for buffet brunch was ridiculous. We have always enjoyed STEAM and felt it was decent food at a reasonable price with a nice view. I will definitely be hard pressed to come back after this experience.

    This was for the Mother’s Day brunch, the menu really wasn’t a great selection for brunch not enough breakfast/lunch options ( not a pancake/waffle) and it wasn’t a great option for people with children . If you have good allergies not the place. They required a credit card to hold the reservation even with booking through open table and said that they would charge it $50.00 if you didn’t come. none of that is mentioned on the site once you book. Parking was terrible! We had to drive around finally parked on the public parking deck. Wait staff was limited but like we waited forever I mean forever for our drinks ( regular sodas) and on the buffet they didn’t have any condiments, the food was kinda bland …Will not come back for this again!

    Steam at Embassy Suites is delivering on their ads. Delicious food and cocktails, enjoyable setting, great views, attentive service all add up to a lovely evening with enough leftovers to bring home for at least one more meal. A huge plus is not having to leave the hotel for a fine meal; or being able to walk to it from nearby hotels.

    The service was exactly the way we like it, attentive without excessive interruption/ hovering. The dishes we ordered were exceptional and cooked perfectly. Exactly what we were looking for when we planned the visit.

    Excellent service and beautiful atmosphere. Loved all of our entrees. The Charcuterie board was a little pricey 40bucks) and had three meats that most of us didn’t care for a beef/chicken pate, a type of bologna and salami. The cheeses were good but not great. The other things on there were awesome like local honey, mustard, jam. Presentation was wonderful. Just thought the Charcuterie was WAY over priced for the selection of meets and cheese (cheddar, provolone and blue cheese).

    We arrived early for our reservation but they did a good job of seating us as soon as possible. We hung out in the bar area while waiting. The food is great and look forward to going back soon!

    There was one server for the entire dining room. Our server was very nice but by no fault of her own could not provide good service. Our food was terrible. My husband ordered shrimp and grits which came in a small bowl with a circle of floating oil all around the perimeter. I ordered salmon with gouda grits that had no flavor, no sauce on the fish which was dry and again oil all around- it was so bizarre. Our server never came back to check on us (not her fault) and I didn't eat mine. My husband ate his b.c he was starving and no service to send back. He was sick the rest of the night. They took mine off the check. I thought it was perhaps a fluke night but a coworker told me they also had a poor experience a few weeks ago. First time there- will not go back. Too many other great restaurants in Wilmington.

    The appetizer and bread were good. The soup we ordered although perhaps hot when pot into the bowl, it was a bit gelatinous when it arrived at our table and had a film on it like gravy gets after it sets awhile. My wife’s swordfish was excellent.

    Overall atmosphere is very nice and the server Jake was attentive as well. We were disappointed with the appetizer that was served. It was clear that this was prepared well in advance and was sitting in a refrigerator. The appetizer Pimento Cheese & Assorted Pickles with bagel chips, was a lump of near frozen pimento cheese with carrots, beets, and asparagus in a pickle brine. The bread slices (not bagel chips) we rock hard stale and the ice cold (just out of a refrigerator). This was clearly not freshly prepared. We advised the server who was cordial and apologetic. He did inform the chef and manager. The manager looked directly at us as Jake shared our concerns. The manager failed to address it with our table on the 2 visits where the nearly untouched appetizer sat. Overall the dinner was fair and in my opinion well over priced given the quality. The lack of attention when our dissatisfaction was brought to the managers attention is disappointing. This was their chance to make it right and they failed. They lost a customer.

    We had not visited Steam for many months because our last experience was bad. They were short-staffed and our waitress seemed totally untrained. But our dinner last night was like the Steam of pre-pandemic days! The service was excellent. The waiters were clearly well trained, friendly and professional. My wife and I shared the Farmer's Salad which was fresh, delicious and huge. She had the bouillabaisse which was very good except for the 4 large, very chewy clams. I had the special swordfish entre which was fantastic. We will definitely be returning soon to Steam.

    I had been to STEAM numerous times after work for cocktails and appetizers and was impressed with everything about the food, service and atmosphere. Their Restaurant Week menu caught my attention and I decided it was time to get some of our friends together and meet at STEAM for dinner. FABULOUS! Everyone enjoyed themselves and we enjoyed excellent service, food and conversation. Craft Cocktails are delicious and the Brussels Sprouts were amazing! Service is impeccable! We’ll reserve a spot again in the future!

    Lovely view out over the river. Parking is easy in the attached parking deck. We were a party of 9, celebrating 2 birthdays. No trouble getting reservations. Service was excellent. Cocktail menu is great! Food was very tasty. Would recommend!

    The food was very boring and mediocre at best. The food sounded amazing on paper but the execution was poor. Felt very similar to a low end Cruise line dinner. Our waitress was very nice and attentive no complaints about service at all. The restaurant was lovely and clean and had beautiful views of the river.

    We dine downtown very often but wanted to bring some out of town guests to a new place. Everyone in our party was pleased with the beautiful views of the water, the delicious food and fabulous service. We will definitely be back to enjoy another experience. Thank you!

    The food was very good and nice sized portions but the grits were cold under the salmon. The salad was huge and it might be better to offer a smaller sized side salad with the entrees. Our server Meghan was lovely and very helpful. The bar was comfortable as we had to wait until our table was ready although we saw empty tables. Perhaps the restaurant was short chefs or servers as it was Valentine's Day but we found that strange.

    The reservation process was easy, there was a call to confirm and hold reservation. Arrived on-time and seated quickly. Staff was super friendly and polite. Food was excellent and atmosphere terrific. Great job.
