Perfect for happy hour.
The service we had was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and looked for ways to make our time there enjoyable. The meatball appetizers were spectacular. My husband had a steak and ordered a baked potato and sauteed spinach to go with it (both of the sides cost extra), and he enjoyed his meal. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli and spinach included in the dish, and it was cooked well, but the Alfredo sauce was bland.
Super nice server was highlight, but even then service was either very rushed or super slow (for example, no drink order taken when we were greeted - but she almost expected us to order right then - rather than giving us time to converse over a cocktail. We didn’t have place settings even by the time our appetizer came so we asked a bus girl to help and let’s just say that her shuffling lack of urgency was frustrating. She told us how strange it was that we didn’t have them, that we SHOULD have them...as if we were hiding them! She didn’t crack a smile and was just generally unpleasant. Even after she managed to bring us forks and knives it took us two more requests of two other people to get napkins. Steaks were good but brussel sprouts were totally undercooked, scallops were mediocre. Just not great food especially for the price. Big bummer to have just another mediocre restaurant in the Verde Valley. I know there trying but they’re not making the mark and it’s a wonder that they don’t see that and take steps to make it better.
Excellent food and service at a fair price. This is a place I will come back to and enjoy.
Delicious food and excellent customer service. We felt like family here. Michael and Luke fantastic bartenders. The owner, Dieter ( pronounced like PETER with a D) - personable and detailed.
Must try “D’s Cold buttered rum”
Entertaining Live music played by a passionate musician.
A must Sedona visit!
The local greens, goat cheese crumbles, sliced apple, candied pecans with a citrus vinaigrette was outstanding. We had the rack of lamb and it was very good also. The only issue we had was the lighting. It seemed dark at our table. Service was very good.
First time visit. Very quiet, service was excellent and the food was just exceptional. I had the special which was a Rack of Lamb but substituted mushrooms for brocaline which I can’t eat. I cleaned the plate, unusual for me, but refrained from licking it. Excellent!
Our Mother's Day experience was very good overall. Reasonable prices, good food and drink, and very good service. Nice ambiance in the fireplace room. Will be back again soon.
Soup of the day, cream of asparagus was REALLY salty. 8oz my strip was not of the quality for price nor of a steakhouse so highly rated. The rack of lamb was under done. The lighting was so low, we needed to use the cell phone light to read the menu. The wine was "discounted" at $40, it was a good value. The housemade ice cream was very good. Out the door, with a 15% discount, including tip, we paid $180 for two. For $180, the event of eating out should be positively memorable. I wouldn't recommend.
Visitors from out of town
This place is absolutely horrible. Made reservations and was seated promptly, but waited for over 20 minutes and never saw a waitress or waiter. Decided to leave and find another place to eat.
Food was very poor for the prices. Prime rib was fair at best. Out of Salmon on Friday of a weekend?
Nice, but everything is extra - $4.00 for dinner rolls. Come on. Small thing but !
We had a wonderful dining experience but a few concerns. We have eaten here before and loved it. This time our meal was served in batches: three were served and the fourth had to wait. The veggies were not served with the main dish. The food was mostly excellent. However, the spinach was way too salty. Our Waitress was excellent; she knew her stuff and adapted to our needs. She was attentive without being obnoxious.
Filet steak was great and cooked perfectly. Side dishes and salad were also wonderful.
Loved our server, Cindy. This was our first time there and we will go back every time we are in Sedona.
Really enjoyed the appetizers and live music on the patio while the sun was setting and the red rocks glowing. Bobby b was entertaining and engaged the intimate group to be involved with music choices. Very fun!
Great place, but they accepted a 8:15pm reservation via open table and they close at 8:30pm. So staff wasn't excited about us being there.
The entertainment in the patio area was fabulous. The guitarist/lead singer and the keyboard/sax player entertained us for THREE wonderful hours, taking only one 10-minute break. Plus, it was my birthday and they sang “Happy Birthday” to me.
We made reservations for a Friday evening for outdoor seating. When we arrived the hostess asked if we still wanted to sit outside - our first clue. When we are seated, we are given water and waited.....one waitress for the patio. She shortly arrived and wanted to be “transparent” that they have more people than expected and would get to us. Isn’t this normal to have a lot of people for 7:30 on a Friday? Anyway, we gave her the benefit of the doubt and told her we were in no hurry. Bad idea. When she came back to our table we gave our orders and since we only wanted water she felt to tell us we made her job easier. Well, our food took forever and she wasn’t even serving. We ordered bread first (yes, it doesn’t come w your meal). When it finally arrived, we had no utensils or placements. We informed the server but he never came back. We finally got a hostess to help us. Ate our bread......plenty of water was provided during our wait. Our meals arrive and despite the food being to our liking, we already had a bad taste in our mouths. As we ate, we were checked on once but it was without any consideration for the length of time the service from being seated to when our meals arrived. We noticed the manager surveying the service on the patio but he never came to any of our tables to see if there was anything we needed. No one helped us unless we flagged someone down. Like I said, we were given plenty of water though! All in all, the food was very good, but the service was so lacking that I would never recommend this place if you want to feel taken care of and enjoy the company you are with.
Excellent and accomodating service. The food was varied and quite tasty
Great service by Danielle and delicious food. Definitely will return.
Steak was delicious and sides were just as good!!! We will be back again!
Nice ambience, very friendly people but took us 2 hours to get main course. I ordered the petit filet..which was REALLY petit..maybe 3 oz. My husband had the flatiron steak which he said was very good. One of our group had filet of sole, which she said was excellent. Most of the sides were very good (mashed potatoes and spinach) but the sauteed mushrooms tasted odd, a chlorine taste. Overall I think I would give them another shot.
The food was very good and the service excellent. Daniella showed knowledge of the menu and a great attitude and smile.
Wonderful spot place for happy hour with live music and delicious apps
We were very impressed with the service and food. Our chateaubriand was cooked to medium rare perfection. Patio seating was spacious and clean. We will be returning for another visit in the future.
The food was delicious. We were seated for 10 minutes before greeted/asked for a drink.
Great evening with friends!
Outstanding! We were on the road for vacation and went to Open Table looking for something nearby. Place was perfect.
Outstanding Service and Outstanding food.
Very Pricey thou.
Not a "real" steak house a la Scottsdale choices although steak was well prepared. Ambiance is not very high end - more a lipstick update of the old Barking Frog except for the new bar. Would classify this as a middle of the road place and therefore over priced.
Everytime we have dinner at Steakhouse 89, the food is fabulous. Best beef in town whether it is the prime rib, tenderloin, or Chateaubriand. Salads and deserts amazing!
I didn't feel the price warranted the experience. More steak proportion options would be better. Food was ok.
It was wonderful. The fireplace may it way too hot
Great service. Two birthdays celebrated tonite.
My husband and I went here for the first time while on vacation as a date night. We were very pleased! The hostess was very welcoming, the live piano music was entertaining, the fireplace was homey, the waiter was very helpful and professional and the food was melt in your mouth amazing. I got the prime rod and Brussels sprouts and my husband got the filet and kennebec potato fries. Everything was served promptly and hot. Will definitely come back!
Very beautiful remodeling of this restaurant since I last visited. The service was excellent, thank you Rachel, and both our meals were 5 star delish! Filet Mignon delicious flavor, aged and cooked to perfection. Fish of the day was fresh and delicious with an Asian flair. Creative dessert menu, the Lemon Meringue Cheesecake was high level!
The best part of our meal was our server, Connie. She is the one who had us check the meat for doneness. Super rare, which we didn’t order. The steak was mediocre for the price. Too many add ons. We understand why it was so empty there.
Connie deserves a raise for making the best of a bad event. Brussel sprouts were the best part, but should have been part of meal, not extra $8-9. Will not recommend.
Very disappointing, as it was my husband’s birthday and was looking for a great experience.
The room with the fire was hot and we did move.
Alex was our server and she was hilarious and so great!!
