STEAK by Melissa
Once you receive your liquor license send me a message and we will consider returning. This was our go to steakhouse.
I've eaten here on two separate occasions with groups and each experience was wonderful. Our server Chris was truly amazing with the varied tastes of my group and his recommendations were excellent. Appetizers, dinner and dessert are all delicious.
This was by far the best experience we have had dining in Southhaven. Loved the atmosphere and the filet was the best filet I’ve eaten in several years. It was surprising when you consider that it was only $34. I highly recommend this place and there was nothing we had that evening that was not delicious!!
Nothing special. Took my husband for his birthday. Oysters overcooked and fishy tasting, steak salad was just lettuce, onion and steak (which the steak as really good) We were not at all impressed, especially for the prices. Will not return or recommend.
The service and food were wonderful! Perfect Wednesday night out!
From the time we walked in the door the staff was on top of everything. Angel our waitress could not have been more attentive to our needs. Checking on us enough to make sure we had everything but not to much to be over bearing. The food was perfect. It was cooked as we asked. Not one complaint at all.
Service was good, however sever did not ask us if we would like to try one of you desserts.
Two filets one med and one med well, Steaks were excellent and cooked perfect!
One person ordered a burger and said it was good and they would order it again.
One person in our party ordered Chicken and it was tough, we would not order that again and because everyone does not always eat red meat this may keep us from revisiting you soon. Did notice you have fish and other dishes on menu but they were in a creamy sauce and we try to stay away from cream based sauces.
Liked the fact you have no corkage fee for wine.
Noise level was a little loud at point with a large party in a Semi closed off back room
Food and service are consistently excellent at Steak by Melissa! I feel their menu is well priced, making it an excellent value.
When I made reservations I was not informed that they had lost their liquor license. Beer is available but no wine or mixed drinks available. I was able to go up the street and purchase it and bring it in so the evening turned out OK. Our server Chris did a great job tending to our needs and was very friendly. The food is good and worth the prices charged. I think they should advertise the situation with the liquor license though.
Food was excellent and BEST strawberry cake!!!! Will definitely be back!
The food was delicious, one of the top 5 best steaks ever. They accommodated special Keto friendly requests, and the server and staff were very attentive. We had a nice visit from the manager who checked on us. It was excellent!
The timing of everything was off. From seating, to ordering, to getting the food to our table was off. Everything came to the table at once. We really wanted to like the place, since the BBQ restaurant is a favorite. Need a good manager to help. No steak knives. The value was not there. It was clean. Food is better at Como Steakhouse.
Good experience, enjoyed the food
It was my first time at this location and I was not thrilled by the food or the service. Maybe it was an off night but there wasn’t a lot of patrons when I was there and the servers word that friendly
The food was beyond amazing!!! We will be returning to dine again!
I ordered a rib eye and the taste was great but it had too much fat in each in every one of them that was ordered. The server "PEYTON" was everything that a waiter should be, pleasantly sweet and patient and most of all he handled all 14 by himself without any hiccups, KUDOS to PEYTON.
The Korean bbq meatballs were delicious as were the crab cakes, chicken sandwich and cheese curds. We make it a point to eat here whenever we are in the Memphis area. The service is attentive and professional. A great place to dine.
Our steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted great! Even better was the EXCELLENT service we received! Highly recommend this casual steak restaurant.
Decided to give this restaurant another shot since it's right by my house and could be a good easy spot to get a good meal. Last time I was able to get a cocktail but now they no longer have a liquor license. No big deal, we both got draft beers. Both of them came out very flat and had to be sent back. Next we ordered the Steakhouse Potatoes, which seemed like 3 day old baked potatoes cut into too large of wedges and cheese melted in the salamander for way too long with some bacon. No seasoning and way too much truffle oil on them. The Caesar salad we both ordered with our steaks tasted like nothing but straight anchovies from the dressing. I like anchovies in my Caesar dressing but this was way too much. My 10 oz filet though was probably the best steak I have ever had in a restaurant. Cooked and seasoned absolutely perfectly. Not all bad but definitely not the best meal we've had by a large margin. Corey our server was fantastic though and was very attentive. So all in all, service was great but the food, except the steak, left a lot to be desired.
Father's Day Brunch was very impressive. Food and Service top notch!
Never been before, and making reservation on Opentable, looking at the brunch menu looked very good. When we arrived, there was not a brunch menu and no bloody mary's or mimosa's for $4.99, it was a buffet style , almost like Shoney's, but at $42.99 without a liquor license . We gave it a chance, but will never be back. Food was just not hot or even good at all.
The buffet spread was impressive. Lots of choices for lunch and breakfast. Fruits and raw vegetables were delicious. The food itself was mediocre at best. Only a few items where good on that spread. Salmon was overcooked and dry, steak wasn't tender or seasoned enough. I could go on. Rice was good, as well as the scalloped potatoes.
Food was great but the service sucked. I will return
The steak was cooked to perfection and the homemade sauce was fantastic. The homemade bread and Korean meatballs were outstanding, too. Thumbs up!
The food was delicious and the staff was amazing. We will be back!!
Our waitress was not attentive to any of our needs..water wasn't refilled..appetizers did not come out til after our food came and we inquired about it. The manager brought us steak sauce to the table..she was walking around and she noticed an issue but never even said a word of concern. This is just not what we are accustomed to at a steak house..our steak was not hot..macaroni was just luke warm..and they informed us when we sat down..they dont have a liquor license.
Steak was excellent...butter knife tender...cooked perfectly. Our waiter was great, as was the supporting staff who helped him. Will certainly be returning.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner. We were seated promptly and it just got
better .. The staff was friendly, very attentive to our needs, and gave us the feeling that we were the
most important people in the building. The appetizer , Spicy Korean sausage balls was outstanding.
The main course, rib eye for me, and filet for her was cooked perfectly. It was a very delightful dinner.
We will go back and take our friends. Many thanks to all the staff that made our visit very special.
Went for a wedding dinner and the staff was very friendly and the food was very good. Will definitely be coming back!!!
WHEN YOU PAY $30 FOE A STEAK, I EXPECT A MUCH HIGHER LEVEL OF EVERYTHING, FIRST IT;S THE CONCRETE FLOOR, THEN EMPLOYEES IN T SHIRTS AND BLUE JEANS, THEN HAVING TO ASK FOR BREAD, THEN WATERED DOWN BLUE CHEESE DRESSING, AND FINALLY CREAMY HORSERADISH DIP THAT HAD NO HORSERADISH AT ALL. WE WON'T GO BACK.
Appetizers were awesome, calamari and Korean BBQ meatballs. Salads were crisp and hearty, dressing cold and yummy. Bread service was fresh and hard to choose which one. Melissa salad with salmon, filet and mushrooms were excellent. Service was attentive and quick. Have been lots of times, planning to go back again.
The staff was friendly. However, from the time we ordered to the time our food came out was about an hour. Which was not really an issue since we had some good conversation in our group. But when the food came out it was very basic. Not quite what I was expecting, especially with the wait.
Facebook said they would have brunch or buffet for mother’s day. That was not the case. Oysters were old. My steak was over cooked. Overall highly disappointing.
Mother’s Day brunch however we weren’t aware the brunch would be buffet style and 42.00 per person. That’s expensive and not at all what we expected. We were able to order a few things off the menu but not brunch. The food was good but still overpriced for what we ordered.
Saturday night was my very first time eating at Steaks by Melissa's. The food was DELICIOUS and my group really enjoy the service and the friendly faces.
I really enjoyed my dinner and my overall experience at Steaks by Melissa. I love this place
Took hubby for BDay, first time for him. It was very disappointing. Too SALTY, returned calimari, bacon bits in macn' cheese could break a tooth, crab cakes tasted on the verge. Although, mgr came by to check on us, we were over it! It was just so bad that there was recovery, no way to make it better. The meats were ok, chops and sirloin, but please focus on the side offerings as they need some attention. I just wanted the evening to be special with really good food...and it wasn't.
Btw, the service provided by Tomika(?) was amazing! Also loved that upon arrival the hostess held the door for us...nice touch, very welcoming.
Service was marginal to say the least. Can’t blame the server however she too may tables.
We had a party of 13 on a holiday weekend and y’all took great care of us. Service was incredible! Food was outstanding! Thank you for making our holiday enjoyable.
