STEAK by Melissa
WHEN YOU PAY $30 FOE A STEAK, I EXPECT A MUCH HIGHER LEVEL OF EVERYTHING, FIRST IT;S THE CONCRETE FLOOR, THEN EMPLOYEES IN T SHIRTS AND BLUE JEANS, THEN HAVING TO ASK FOR BREAD, THEN WATERED DOWN BLUE CHEESE DRESSING, AND FINALLY CREAMY HORSERADISH DIP THAT HAD NO HORSERADISH AT ALL. WE WON'T GO BACK.
Appetizers were awesome, calamari and Korean BBQ meatballs. Salads were crisp and hearty, dressing cold and yummy. Bread service was fresh and hard to choose which one. Melissa salad with salmon, filet and mushrooms were excellent. Service was attentive and quick. Have been lots of times, planning to go back again.
The staff was friendly. However, from the time we ordered to the time our food came out was about an hour. Which was not really an issue since we had some good conversation in our group. But when the food came out it was very basic. Not quite what I was expecting, especially with the wait.
Facebook said they would have brunch or buffet for mother’s day. That was not the case. Oysters were old. My steak was over cooked. Overall highly disappointing.
Saturday night was my very first time eating at Steaks by Melissa's. The food was DELICIOUS and my group really enjoy the service and the friendly faces.
I really enjoyed my dinner and my overall experience at Steaks by Melissa. I love this place
Took hubby for BDay, first time for him. It was very disappointing. Too SALTY, returned calimari, bacon bits in macn' cheese could break a tooth, crab cakes tasted on the verge. Although, mgr came by to check on us, we were over it! It was just so bad that there was recovery, no way to make it better. The meats were ok, chops and sirloin, but please focus on the side offerings as they need some attention. I just wanted the evening to be special with really good food...and it wasn't.
Btw, the service provided by Tomika(?) was amazing! Also loved that upon arrival the hostess held the door for us...nice touch, very welcoming.
We had a party of 13 on a holiday weekend and y’all took great care of us. Service was incredible! Food was outstanding! Thank you for making our holiday enjoyable.
Horrible bland and cold Worst 100 dollars ever spent on food salad had no toppings beside 1 tomato and sides were aweful especially the mac and cheese will never return definitely not worth the money at ALLL may as well be a applebees RELOADED!! FOLKS FOLLYS IS 10000 TIMES BETTER FOOD COMES OUT PIPING HOT SERVICE IS IMPECCABLE AMD SEASONING ON POINT! WILLL NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TONANYONE OH AMD THE BAR HAS NO ALCOHOL PERIOD THEY ONLY SERVE BEER AMD WINE COOLERS
Though I am probably in the minority, I prefer my steaks with no seasoning on them, so, I thought my steak was on the salty side. I am a heart patient who tries to limit salt intake so would have preferred knowing about the seasoning and given a choice to have my steak prepared with or without it. Even though it was early in the evening and not many people in the restaurant, one table was quite loud and the sound reverberated throughout the restaurant with all that wood and nothing to absorb or dampen the sound on the walls, ceilings, floor, etc.
My son and his girlfriend went before prom. He said the food was amazing and the service was awesome. I was worried it wouldnt be since they are such a young couple. However, he said they were very attentive and nice.
Steak by Melissa is a very nice restaurant. I had the ribeye steak and it was delicious. Our waitress was extremely attentive. A++++++
Went based on reviews from both Google and Yelp. It was FANTASTIC!!!!! We had the Korean BBQ appetizer to start. The sauce they have on it was fabulous, definitely worth starting with because it lays a good foundation for the rest of your meal. My husband had the 7 oz filet with the lobster, mashed sweet potatoes and grilled veggies. I had the 10oz sirloin with shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes and the house salad. The steaks we're cooked to perfection and tasted like heaven. My husband's lobster was so good he said that he didn't really need to use the butter, did so to extend the flavor. The shrimp was grilled just right, tender and flavorful. We asked our waitress, Sheila, about dessert and she recommended the strawberry cake. You MUST HAVE a piece of this cake. It is sliced big enough that 2 people can share one piece. The restaurant doors are wide enough to allow my husband's wheelchair and the tables are spaced enough to allow people to get around his chair without feeling like it's in the way. This place is not far from Memphis or Tunica need, no MUST, go and eat here!!!!!!
The steak was super bland and the shrimp was over cooked. It was not worth the ridiculous price we paid. I've had better steaks at any of the chain restaurants(ie. Lonestar Texas roadhouse, etc.).
The ribeye was so tender, we almost didn’t need a knife. The flavor- absolute perfection. Awesome waitstaff. We’ll definitely be returning.
It was a quiet night, with fantastic food. Great service. The Berkshire pork chop I had was great, and my wife said her sirloin was wonderful.
Great place to take my wife out for her birthday.
We loved everything...the food was delicious and the staff was very nice we will most definitely be back:)
Great place. Very friendly staff.....
This well exceeded our expectations! There was no issue w us bringing a toddler in a stroller to be kept at the table, and we were well greeted and taken care of throughout our stay. The meats were absolutely amazing and our server the sweetest woman who had her colleagues bringing out new drinks before we even thought of asking. Highly recommend for friends and families.
The experience was great. It wasn’t a lot of people, but overall the food and atmosphere was great.
Love the steaks ‘‘it was perfect and the friendliness of the waitress . Great job
The steaks were perfect! Chargrilled oysters started the meal off right.
Outstanding service. The way it should be! A little pricy, but very tasty!
Melissa’s does not have a liquor license and should have publicized this. In addition, our server was rude, and the food was cold. The floor from people leaving the kitchen and the rain was extremely slippery.
I was set in a corner in the back of the restaurant so the noise level was not as loud as in the middle of the restaurant. However, our server was very nice and professional and the appetizer was great. The let down was my entrée, The steaks and sides were decent but something was not right about the lobster possibly under cook maybe I’m not a chef, but I didn’t complain so that was a waste of money. Probably the most shocking part of the night was that I could not get a glass of red wine to go with the steak.
This was my wife and I first time visiting. We made a reservation, arrived and was seated. It was mild on one side of the restaurant and cool on the side we were on. So then the air came on and all the folks in our area began complaining. The waitress responded oh they turned it on because the other side was complaining on being hot. I complained to our waitress a 2nd time, same response from her. I then went to get a coat for my wife and complained to the front desk. They alerted the manager and then the air would come on and go off every 10 minutes or so. Then neither one of us enjoyed our food. My wife had the Salmon, it was over cooked. This is after she was asked how do you want it cooked. She said medium. I've never had anyone every ask 'How do you want Salmon cooked'? We eat it a lot and many different restaurants. We both got mash potatoes and they were not good. I ordered chicken with spinach on top, it was not seasoned to my taste. The look and feel was good. For the most part the service was friendly. We may go back one day in the summer time and try different items.
The service was lacking. It took the waiter forever to take our order. She didn’t check to see if we needed anything else. Didn’t ask if we wanted dessert we had to ask. Bread came right before our food. Didn’t ask if we wanted an appetizer. Our waiter completely neglected our table. She looked overwhelmed and frustrated when we asked for water or tea. Granted we were 10mins late for our reservation but sever should’ve still been up to par. May not visit again unless needed. We cancelled Texas De Brazil reservations to try this location but that will not happen again.
Food was excellent! Our server Sheila did a great job with our large party. We just wished they served cocktails.
We were greeted at the door by the amazing staff... Our waitress was very pleasant and engaging.. The manager went to each table to greet and chat with the customers.. Being able to sample the soup of the day was a big plus.. Lets talk bang for your buck... The portion sizes was way more than we expected.. My brother ordered a 24 oz porter house and that was exactly what he got plus a large loaded baked potato plus a salad for under $50.. I also left my cell phone case at the restaurant and did not realize until a couple hours after I left. The waitress "CeCe" had already turned it in to management with my bank cards and cash still intact.. This speaks volumes to the of employees and management team... My family loves to get together for dinner and most of the time we are 10 + when we do and will most definitely be returning..
Good food, Great atmosphere, everything was wonderful!
We have been to this place 3-4 times and usually we are highly satisfied. This time was different. First, their liquor license is not current, so our only choice for an adult beverage was beer. We made our beer selection, and wouldn’t you know, they were out of that beer!
Next, the food was just “OK”. My ribeye was perfect but my wife’s was over cooked and a bit dry. Her broccoli was a little undercooked, and the mashed potatoes left a little to be desired. The only reason we didn’t send it back was because we had a show that we were attending at the Landers Center and didn’t want to be late.
VERY NICE PLACE I WILL BE RETURNINGB SOME TIME SOON.
The steaks are over priced and mediocre. You can get a better steak at any chain restaurant. Drink menu is I’ll, wine selection should just about be nonexistent. I don’t see this place lasting.
Outstanding customer service. Delicious food and excellent atmosphere to dine. I absolutely enjoyed my experience with my Valentine date.
Everything was absolutely wonderful. I have been a huge fan of RC steak house and Fleming’s and I will no longer go to Memphis. The staff was awesome and again, our steaks, sides and appetizers were excellent. The sautéed mushrooms kicked butt!!
We ordered the rib eye. Mine was supposed to be with no blue cheese butter but have mushrooms on it they got it wrong. My wife's rib eye was supposed to be well done without garnish of any sort. They got it wrong. So instead of recooking our order they tried passing off strip steak instead of rib eye. As a cook myself I was appalled at the indignant nature of the staff. Mistakes happen but how you handle them speaks volumes. We won't be back. By the way this was our Valentine's night dinner. Very unpleasant experience
The salads were just fine. Nothing special but good. I had the black and blue filet, which was very tender but not cooked quite to the temperature I like it. It was still very tasty. The side dishes were fair...mushrooms were pretty good but asparagus not so much. The strawberry cake was fantastic! Our server was friendly but not super attentive. The atmosphere was kind of odd. It’s like they weren’t sure if they wanted a fancy place or a casual, Texan feel. Overall, I’m not sure it’s worth the money. You can probably get just as good a meal at Colton’s or Texas Roadhouse for less money.
The steak was correct temp but the char on the meat was off putting. They also didn’t have a liquor license so no wine with our steaks.
No Wine? Just beer.server must have been new. If you don’t have a license then why not BYOB?
No liquor license. Mediocre food. No atmosphere
