I don’t even eat meat that often but this was so good. Also the oysters were so good. Service was A++++ too - thank you!
Steak & Whisky is consistently next-level delicious. The onion rings, for instance. My family are onion ring connoisseurs and these are the best we've ever tasted. Salmon and steak are never better than they are here. And, for cocktails, Carrie Bradshaw Died in Mexico is an upgrade on the spicy margarita: refreshing, delicious, original. I've never had anything here that's "just okay." This is a foodie's paradise.
Awesome food and great service !
As always my favorite happy hour spot for scotch.
The food is amazing!! Tomahawk steak 🥩 was amazing
Restaurant was out of many items. Salad was just okay. Steak came out over cooked and was sent back. The replacement steak was tough and not worth the price. Sides were not hot or even warm. Martinis were small and expensive. Service was slow despite limited capacity and an early reservation without it being busy.
I have to say that this was one of the worst meals of my life. We had the prime ribeye (looked like a cut from Denny’s) and the prime NY (fat ribbon laden cut that I ultimately brought home for the dogs) with the lobster mac & cheese. Only redeeming part of the meal was the truffle butter on the ribeye. Service was good and waiter made good recommendations on wine. Overall, due to the very poor quality of food, this was a horrible dining experience that I will never repeat.
Amazing food and drinks with a great patio out front. We enjoyed our cocktails which watching the sun go down, then dug into an incredible steak with a few great sides. Highly recommended
We dined in restaurant last Saturday evening. Service was a bit slow but that's to be expected.
The food was amazing. We each had a different steak and both were cooked to perfection.
All the waitstaff were friendly. I had never had a Manhattan or Old Fashioned before and when I asked our server (who was also a bartender) which was best, he created a special cocktail encompassing both - it was delicious! If Clark is ever working when you are there, ask for his special Manhattan. Gorgeous and delicious drink.
An excellent fine dining from all perspectives.
Was cold and windy outside with limited number of heaters.
Order Everything!!! Oysters, Lobster, Creamed spinach and cocktails. One of my favorite spots in the South Bay. Thank you Nina!
Asked for extra dressing, never got it. Steak cooked almost MW when supposed to be MR. Wife finished her whole meal before getting another when told it would be 4 min. Worst was manager never came to table and actually avoided us the rest of the night!
Food was amazing. We had the Ribeye, Burrata, wedge, and Bread Pudding. The flavors rock! Already made a res for this Friday.
It took over 1 hour from ordering the main event until we actually received it. It was very cold and heating lamps looked good but did not give our any heat. Me and My wife ate here many times and were very disappointed in our experience this time.
Great product quality and savory options. Very attentive service provided.
Amazing service, the food is amazing, highly recommend the bread pudding and any of the steaks! Delicious! The view around sunset is wonderful- especially with the heaters to keep you warm!
Had a reservation for 2 at noon on Saturday. The restaurant was not full outside. They sat two of us in a small corner table on the patio facing east away from the beach. We asked to have an empty table that was larger for an ocean view and more space and they told us we had to leave in an hour. Continues to rush us and remind us for the full time period. If they had a seating window they should’ve told us at booking and the constant reminders were totally unnecessary and disruptive. Very disappointing.
We got up and left! The hosts were obnoxious. Only 3 heaters positioned in a worthless way to provide heat, then got yelled at for repositioning table 6 inches! Yes 6 inches so that my wife could be closer to the heater. I feel bad for anyone having to suffer a meal at this place. Go to Zane’s across the street- 1000% better food and service!
First time there. Outdoor area due to Covid was actually quite nice. Had a lovely view of the pier and ocean. Ordered from their Happy Hour menu. 4-6 is $1 oysters. Minuet sauce was heavenly but oysters were on the small side. Order 10 and shared them with my friend. I would say the 5 i had all had broken shell pieces in them that I had to spit out each time I ate an oyster. That wasn't appetizing or enjoyable. Their drinks though were spot on. Had 2 old fashions. Def will come back and try other menu items
What a fabulous meal! I've been wanting to try this place for awhile since I moved to town but it had been closed because of the Rona. What a lovely dining deck they built, don't forget your sweater though because even with the heaters it can be a bit chilly but that's not their fault. My friend and I ordered quite a bit of items to share but the pear salad and the short ribs were the standouts. We brought a bottle of wine with us without issue, they opened for a reasonable $25 corkage. Thanks for the fun night out, I'll be back soon.
No shade so a very sunny brunch... Bring sunscreen. The UV definitely affected the dining experience and the food. Would've been acceptable were the price not so high.
We showed up and were denied our reservation. I showed her the open table confirmation. I showed the phone call that day confirming the reservation. But they still said they they had no record and would not seat us.
Fantastic brunch menu. Steak and eggs. Croque Madame. Lots to choose from. Overall great food.
We had a great meal and a terrific time. The outside dining was a bit chilly but the food and drinks were lovely. I cannot wait to go back and try them again.
Excellent food, service and amazing choice of spirits
Always good food and great service at Steak & Whiskey!
The staff was great. It was a cold outside and the heaters were pretty far from our table but we still had a pleasant covid dinning experience. The oysters and burrata were amazing! However, the lobster Mac was not, which was disappointing because I feel like that should have been a standout dish.
Great food! Nice outdoor atmosphere
The only criticism I have is that it was cold. Being only outside dining and the fact that it's February now, kind of stands to reason, right? They could use a few more heaters out on their deck though. Other than that, the food was great, the service was great and my Manhattans were exceptional. I will definitely go again when the weather warms up.
Our waitress was fantastic. Kept the night fun, even with us all dining outside on the streets... she was quick to tell us what they were out of so we didn’t get attached to any items unavailable. She made great suggestions for drinks and dishes and we just had a great dinner. The bill was pricey, but with such great service, food, drinks, and energy, we were happy to pay and had a great Valentine’s dinner. The one thing ol’ rona brought was just the energy of the Hermosa pier and that busy intersection. So keep that in mind with what time you’re dining since you’ll be sat on their beautiful patio that used to be parking spaces... you know the drill. But the new “ambiance” made for great entertainment for us. Ha! Highly recommend!
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was average. The fried chicken was delicious (the best thing of the whole dinner) but the sides that came with it were really bad (a large portion of pickles and pickeled veggies... including huge pickeled garlic cloves- was not appetizing at all). The gnocchi was mush and flavorless. The ribeye and the lobster Mac were ok. Was disappointed a handful of their menu items online were not being served but I get things are not perfect right now due to COVID.
Our server was amazing! I do not recall her name but she was from Germany! Excellent service and very fun person!!
Fab location that allows a view to the sea as well as the pier on a sturdy wooden patio. The wait staff are attentive and helpful. Food was served quickly. I had the “ Not Carrie Bradshaw” drink and it was seriously yum. A bit of a kick to it and easy to drink.
Fantastic food and Clark was the PERFECT server! Knowledgeable, friendly, and professional! Will be back and request him!
Our waiter (Clark) was exceptional! He was attentive, friendly and provided a great experience for our first time eating at the restaurant
Birthday dinner, food was amazing
Waiter was very knowledgeable about bourbons
One of the best steaks I’ve had. Great cocktails too!
Our meal at Steak and Whiskey was DELICIOUS!! From the house bread to the crispy duck, not to mention the fantastic cocktails. And dessert- to die for! Our server, Clark, was a rock star and really added to a fabulous overall experience. S&W has a lovely outside seating area all set and ready to go.
Food and service was amazing. Spirits and house cocktails were superb. Our server Grant was attentive and provided us with excellent service.
We like S&W - and were there for a birthday celebration which was noted on the reservation. Unfortunately that wasn't acknowledged during the dinner by the server which was a little disappointing as I always think a little candle and treat on a birthday is fun. Also, was surprised by the charge of $7 for water which wasn't mentioned when they asked what type of water we wanted (still) - must be they are only offering bottled water these days. The night we were there was a weekend and you are advised that there is a table time limit so you need to be efficient with ordering and dining pace.
We will go back - as the food is good, drinks are creative and the server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
