We tried Steak and Vine with another couple to celebrate Christmas together. It was reasonably priced and the food was great; the service was amazing. Most impressive was the wine list and each of the three bottles we tried was great! Would highly recommend giving this place a try.
The staff was accommodating with our large party (7 for dinner and 11 for drinks & appetizers). The review of the food was mixed, an OVERSIZED wedge salad was served and steaks were not prepared as requested.
Good reviews for the burger and pork chop!
I've been wanting to try this place because of the review I've read. When my husband and I finally had a time for a date, a choice between wildfire and this, I choose this restaurant. Unfortunately, i was disappointed. It was a very busy night when we went, room for dinner is small, not a lot of choices where to seat us, the booths were very close to each other, I can hear clearly what the conversation of couple next to me, too loud which made it hard for conversation. We ordered crab cake, French onion soup, fish and steak, all was just okay but our server was very nice and attentive. For two of us, no alcoholic drink, we paid $100 with tip, so not cheap. Wish I choosen wildfire. If you must try this place, I recommend sitting in the bar area instead of their dining area, space was better.
Excellent service and delicious food. Can’t wait to go back. Will recommend it highly
It is a nice restaurant it a cute neighborhood. As soon as I walked through the door I was met with a warm greeting. Good relatively quiet crowd on a Sunday night. Although they did not have crab cakes that night as listed on the menu they accommodated with other options. My friends were happy with the restaurant as well & they can be tough critics. Would definitely reccomend to others & return again myself.
food was just ok. My wife's fish wasn't cooked correctly and was oversaturated with breading. It got sent back and took another 10-15 minutes or so for the entree to come out. No comp on the bill - paid in full. My filet steaks weren't that good. I probably could've purchased the same steaks from Trader Joe's and cook myself and would've turned out better.
We loved our waitress. The steak was excellent.
The wine chosen for us complemented our meal superbly.
I am a regular here for a good number of reasons. Awesome hosts, great service and delicious food (the steaks and seafood are great). I’ve never had a bad experience here, and even if I did, the staff would be quick to find a fix and make your experience enjoyable. Go for yourself!
Food was excellent, the Waygu Hanger Steak was best I ever had.
Was a Thursday night, very few people in restaurant, a little too quiet
Food was excellent and server was outstanding.
Amazing steak dinner! Monday night is half price bottle of wine and the owner/manager came over to recommend and help us choose a great Malbec.
This evening was a Ridge Winery wine tasting dinner and it was outstanding! The food, the wine and the service were outstanding. My personal favorite course was the Asiago Gnocchi-Duck Sausage with ragu sauce and grilled zucchini! Everything the chef created that night was awesome!
The food was very good the service was very friendly and attentive. They have a large variety of wine and liquor choices. I will be coming back.
WE GO HERE FREQUENTLY AND ARE NEVER DISAPPOINTED, HOWEVER, GOING ON A SATURDAY NIGHT AT 7:00 IS PROBABLY NOT A WISE DECISION IF YOU WANT CONVERSATION WITH YOUR MEAL. THE PLACE WAS PACKED. PEOPLE WERE TALKING LOUDLY. ANNOYING BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER. THE SERVER WAS EXCEPTIONALLY FOCUSED ON US AND OUR NEEDS DESPITE ALL TABLES BEING OCCUPIED. IT WAS A FINE NIGHT OUT!
Food was delicious, service was exceptional but the prices were high. We had the house Cabernet. It was good but a very small pour-maybe 4 oz- for $10 a glass. The price of the bar bill could keep me from returning.
This was our first time here!
Food and service was great !
We will be back!
Wonderful as expected. Brought out of town business associates that had nothing but complimentary comments as well.
It was our first visit & we were more than pleased. Excellent cocktails to start and attentive service throughout our meal. We will certainly be back and I can more than recommend this restaurant. Just FYI the food was fabulous!
Great place. great food. great service.
First time here. Loved it. Will go back.
Our server, Victor was great. Food was very good...good choices
The food was great and the service also.
Unfortunately, I ordered the mahi mahi and my fish wasn’t cooked. Additionally, I didn’t feel that the ambiance matched the online impression that was given. For what we paid, don’t feel that the food matched and wine was very overpriced per glass.
The food was absolutely delicious! This is a place we have been wanting to try and it did not disappoint! We had the hot cheese with bacon jam and it was phenomenal. She had the special of a stone sea bass and it was cooked perfect. I had the short ribs and they were to die for. The mashed potatoes were creamy. Over all an amazing experience!
Excellent service and food. It was a Birthday Celebration and a sparkler and key lime pie was brought to our table. Very nice.
Great drink and wine list. Food was really good. Server was very accommodating and offered for us to try a wine she recommended which is always nice.
My wife and I , each had a different special, lobster tail and bone in filet.
Both terrific with good sides, brusselsprouts and cheesy grits.
Service very knowledgeable and pleasant.
As a Celiac I'm always happy to find a place capable of catering to my dietary needs. Steak + Vine exceeded my expectations and will be our new favorite place to dine and meet up with friends and family.
My wife loved the steak medallions and grilled shrimp and I took my time to savor what was likely the best pork chop I've ever had.
Service was attentive and professional without hovering. Owner, so sorry I missed his name, was engaging and welcoming.
Dinner for out of town family.
Haven't had a bad meal yet
I had been there last month- great food
Couldn’t wait to bring my friends from Florida here. Wait staff-wonderful
Rolls were not fresh. Day old and dry
Mani mahi tasty but presentation w boring white rice and undercooked broccoli yech
I asked to have broccoli more tender and staff complied but really I could have cooked this at home on a slow night. My guest had short ribs and left most in his plate he was too polite to complain. Disappointing
This was a great meal..
Our first time at Steak & Vine and it certainly won’t be our last. Very cool ambiance, food was great and so was the service.
My second time here. The food is above average. My wife thought her scallops were over cooked and not too flavorful. Paying $40 for an above average steak isn’t too good value for the cuts I can cook in my backyard. Willing to give it another shot at some point.
Back to one of my favorite restaurants to dine at. I love the atmosphere, the large bar up front, the staff who always provides great service, the cocktails and the food. We brought my cousins to introduce them to this place. They loved it and I was happy they did. I had my American Girl cocktail made with blackberry. Our table shared the baked cheese, which is ooey gooey fontina cheese topped with bacon jam. OMG! Since I cannot order anything else here...although the whole menu is great...I had the salmon once again for dinner. It continues to be my favorite dish and cooked to perfection. They even swapped out the snow peas for my favorite arugula & apple side that used to come with this dish. My husband had the shrimp and grits and loved the creamy grits and the combo of chorizo with the shrimp. For dessert, we had the housemade banana cream pie. This was absolutely the best end to a wonderful meal. Creamy banana goodness inside a wonderful crust topped with whipped cream. I love this place for so many reasons. It’s easy to make reservations on Open Table, too. Highly recommend!
Best restaurant in the western suburbs!
Great service and food!
Why why when you reserve a table would you get seated in bar? Then manager opens blinds (without asking us sitting basically on windowsill) because sun is setting, but dude the heat from window is now in my back.
Chicken w roasted potatoes chicken tough and I don’t know if potatoes were roasted as there was about 2 cups of Greek salad dressing poured over the top. Then had to remind server of sides we ordered. Could be great but just confusing. Everyone was nice; however, I dunno we go out to eat for service.
We went for my daughter’s birthday. It’s our second time here and both visits have been very happy with food and atmosphere.
The service was great but the food was average. Of the six guests, three ordered the eggs Benedict and enjoyed it, one had the pound cake French toast which didn't have much taste even after putting the whipped cream, syrup and fruit jam on it, one had the burger which didn't have much taste and the last has eggs and potatoes. The bottomlesa mimosas were nice. Overall it's an average restaurant. I would go only if invited but wouldn't choose as my top choice.
First visit was great. Kids receive appetizers and dessert with their meals. Ribeye was cooked a perfect med rare. Will visit again.
