Reservations cannot be made for happy hour sections.
Place was empty. Drinks were slow (bartenders fault- it was wine and a beer). Only 2 other table in there. Chicken fried steak was burnt. Steak was over cooked. Food took forever, second round of drinks took forever. Waited 20 min for check and to go dessert. Server was super nice- but wouldn’t go back
Mother’s Day but could not use my groupon even though not that crowded. Why??
Great service, nice place. Will be going back. Went there for Mother’s Day brunch. Will be going back.
Brunch and waitress were outstanding. Been there before for happy hour and the appetizers were great.
We got there around 2 pm on a Saturday and they did not have any steaks ready. So we left. The service was friendly.
I highly recommend Steak & Grapes!! We went for my Mom's birthday on a Thursday night. The food was phenomenal!! The prices were very reasonable & our waiter was amazing! We will definitely be back in the near future
Positive side Good wine at good prices. Had the rib appetizer and it was very good. The two steak appetizers we had were tough and fairly flavorless. Disappointing for a steak place. Buffalo Trace Manhattan was not an actual Manhattan and don't expect it to be. Waiter was kind, but overwhelmed.
First time visit to this restaurant. I even mentioned to the server that it was and the pressure was on him to make a good first impression. His service was adequate and he was very friendly and outgoing. But the food....no need to lie to folks about food prep. I ordered the bone-in ribeye (more in a minute on that) and asked if I could add a single piece of fish from their fish and chips, which was accommodated. One look at this piece of fish when it came out initially seemed promising - crispy golden brown. As soon as I picked it up, water ran out of it. CLEAR sign that this was not “hand battered” by anyone in THIS restaurant and that it was fried from a frozen state. As expected - super hot outside, cold and WET in the middle like the frozen burrito from the microwave in Encino Man (just watch it, you’ll laugh). When asked directly if cooked from frozen, the server slipped and hesitated with uhhhhh, well, I’m pretty sure, I think that it’s not frozen, no (with zero confidence). That told me all I needed to know about this place. Now the ribeye - it was WAY over cooked (medium on a ribeye usually results in hot and pink throughout and the fatty marbled ring is then more mid rare - this was a thought gray throughout), tasted pretty good, but was SO COLD by the time it came to the table that it didn’t even melt the dollop of butter that they do expertly adorn in the center (end sarcasm font) before bringing it to the table. If you are going to dollop butter on a steak, you better make damn certain that said butter will be MELTED by the time the plate reaches the consumer. This was fail after fail on many levels and I won’t likely return as there are HUNDREDS of other better choices in the greater Omaha area.
But the root vegetables were good.....🤷🏼♂️
Great location and the server was knowledgeable. The food was cooked just right and the filet had good flavor. I would go back. Steak & Grapes had good values on their wine. That is hard to find in a restaurant.
One of the best restaurants we’ve been too. Great food, fantastic service. Overall loved the evening.
Everything was great from the greeting of the hostess, our amazing server, best “ deviled egg” appetizer, perfect steak, the owner stopping by our table to make everything was as we wanted and all at a reasonable price. Great hidden treasure in Omaha.
Food as cold. Some bad attitudes from the kitchen staff not well hidden. Waitress was good thi
Food took an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive and was good - not great. Omaha is loaded with phenomenal dining experiences. If I’m being honest, there are much better choices out there.
Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. A nice evening overall.
Fixed menu was not advetised on Open Table or website. Were very disappointed with the choices. The only sauce of Alfredo made it impossible for those with sensitivities. I asked for a plain red sauce and was told no, then served a complimentary tiny cup of pasta with red sauce. Prime Rib was not trimmed and very fatty. The waiter provided us with one of our 5 worst dining experiences. After 45 minutes we asked for our side salad and was told "I'll check on that" He brought it wilty & warm. Yuk. We were ignored in favor of cleaning tables and seating other guests to insure he maximized his take for the evening. Very very disappointing and with all the dining options in town, we will not be returning or recommending Steak & Grapes.
Toy is amazing. The food was great. We’ll definitely be back
The whiskey steak and the steak salad were both great.
On this occasion, we dined at Steak & Grapes for brunch. It was good, but not great. However, the couple seated next to us raved about their meals. We previously enjoyed dinner there and would rate that better overall. However, in both instances, the server was not very attentive. I will return to Steak & Grapes in hopes of a more attentive server coupled with good food.
Went there with my husband after purchasing a Groupon. Did not know that Groupons cannot be used on Fridays or Saturdays or for brunch. Food and service were great, but not quite worth the price.
Horrible took 2 hours to get food manager wouldn’t come out to talk to us. We asked twice to talk to manager. Our waiter was awesome tho and kept apologizing and comped us some meals but it wasn’t that busy. Then food orders were wrong and food was cold. Took 20 min to even get water. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!
Dined here for the second time. Had a 7:30pm NYE reservation via OpenTable for two. Arrived at 7:30 and promptly seated. Waited over 10 minutes for server to take our drink order. We finally received our food around 9:00 (so, yes, unbelievably about an hour and a half later). Food was good quality - hot and flavorful, though the chicken piccata could have used more butter sauce on the angel hair pasta. Fortunately, our server offered to comp our entire meal, which we accepted. She directly apologized, and explained issues with opentable reservations not being turned off early enough, a server being off, and only having three line cooks on duty. Did not require us to use our Groupon voucher.
Would return, albeit not for some time, given the many dining options in the Omaha area.
Our chicken dish was brought out uncooked! We called the OWNER to our table and said chicken was undercooked, he just picked the plate up, no apology, and it took 30 minutes to get another one which came back incorrect for the sides we ordered. When it was delivered, you would have thought the owner would have brought it back to apologize but instead he sent a 21 year old hostess to do it. WOW!
Our server Liz was dynamite and tried to apologize. Felt sorry for her! You could clearly see that they were short staffed for New Year's Eve. This is the second time out of three visits that the evening was not good. Not going back.
Wow. I should learn to trust the other reviews. Went for New Year’s Eve. They had a limited menu and were crowded, but not insanely packed. Waiter got to our table after about five minutes. Placed some drink orders. They arrived about 15 minutes later. We ordered dinner and asked about salads. They didn’t have any on the menu for New Year’s Eve, but were told that a pasta dish would arrive before dinner that was in place of a salad. After more than one hour, nothing had arrived. Not even the waiter to ask if we needed more drinks. I asked what I thought was a manager behind the bar where the pasta was, he told me he didn’t work there.
Then, after another 15 minutes, I got up to ask again and they said, the food is coming. Sure enough, about five minutes later the entree arrived. I asked about the pasta and the waiter said he would check. Then, 10 minutes after that he said he would apply a Groupon discount to our order, but never offered the pasta. Meanwhile, we had ordered another drink when the dinner came. Sure enough, 25 minutes after that, just as we finished dinner, the drink arrived.
Another group that we knew who was stuck eating at Steak & Grapes stopped by as they were leaving. They had a similar experience. However, one of the ladies in that group, who was an older lady, said that the Owner was rude to her and said “I can’t help it if everyone wants to eat out on New Year’s Eve”.
To top it all off, they had a guy playing depressing love songs on some keyboard to further make it a downer of a night.
I have lived in Omaha for well over 50 years and never had an experience like this. This city is loaded with great restaurants, with great service. The food was only okay at Steak & Grapes and I can assure you it will be my one and only time there. I suspect they will be gone soon if they keep this kind of service up. Too many great options in this city.
We had a great time! Look forward to going back.
Our waiter Mark was a real pro; he took great care of us.
The food was very tasty- fantastic!
I can't really rate it on anything but service...Should get a zero...We were seated promptly...that was all...NO ONE ever came over to take our order....we waited...the host saw we were waiting for a server and brought waters...we waited some more...watched the servers go by...It wasn't even busy! Waited some more...then we got up and walked out! Was never a huge fan of their food to begin with...now this one will for sure be checked off the list!
I had an amazing experience. My entire family absolutely loved it.
Not sure why open table shows it as 4$’s. It is very reasonably priced. I had the best side salad ever. It had walnuts apples goat cheese and bacon. 2 very decent glasses of wine for only $6 (ea), and a very nice burger. Wish I would have ordered it medium but that is on me.
We went a on a slow night, maybe14 customers. Not sure why it took 10 minutes to get our drinks and 40 minutes to get our food.
Good food and good service.
This is the second time we visited Steak and Grapes. On our first visit their service was so delayed we were given a $25 gift certificate. Giving them a second chance ( assisted by the gist certificate they undercooked my wife's steak (rare vs. medium well) and overcooked mine (well vs. medium). They recooked the steaks, but in the interim, they brought the luke-warm sides to our table for us to snack on. Nice effort, but not and Omaha steak.
Good was terrible. Drinks were good. Very overpriced.
Good was average as was the service. Lots of little misses and confusion with our order. We will probably go again but with lower expectations.
Steak was very undercooked, weird side pasta was tough and calamari had an odd flavor.
Not a pleasant evening at all. Tables are very close together.
Our steaks were perfect and the service was outstanding.
It was really nice and we enjoyed great service from Betsie.
Great food and service. Would definitely go again.
It was our first time there and food was very good and our server was excellent!!! We feel that it was a bit overpriced though. Drinks were overpriced. There was only two of us and between dinner and drinks, our bill was $102. Not usually what we spend on dinner but was very very good. I definitely would recommend it!
The meal was one of the worst I have had in a restaurant in Omaha.
Very slow service. My steak was tough. Was the same Louie Wine bar just new name.
