Reservations cannot be made for happy hour sections.
Went there with my husband after purchasing a Groupon. Did not know that Groupons cannot be used on Fridays or Saturdays or for brunch. Food and service were great, but not quite worth the price.
Horrible took 2 hours to get food manager wouldn’t come out to talk to us. We asked twice to talk to manager. Our waiter was awesome tho and kept apologizing and comped us some meals but it wasn’t that busy. Then food orders were wrong and food was cold. Took 20 min to even get water. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!
Dined here for the second time. Had a 7:30pm NYE reservation via OpenTable for two. Arrived at 7:30 and promptly seated. Waited over 10 minutes for server to take our drink order. We finally received our food around 9:00 (so, yes, unbelievably about an hour and a half later). Food was good quality - hot and flavorful, though the chicken piccata could have used more butter sauce on the angel hair pasta. Fortunately, our server offered to comp our entire meal, which we accepted. She directly apologized, and explained issues with opentable reservations not being turned off early enough, a server being off, and only having three line cooks on duty. Did not require us to use our Groupon voucher.
Would return, albeit not for some time, given the many dining options in the Omaha area.
Our chicken dish was brought out uncooked! We called the OWNER to our table and said chicken was undercooked, he just picked the plate up, no apology, and it took 30 minutes to get another one which came back incorrect for the sides we ordered. When it was delivered, you would have thought the owner would have brought it back to apologize but instead he sent a 21 year old hostess to do it. WOW!
Our server Liz was dynamite and tried to apologize. Felt sorry for her! You could clearly see that they were short staffed for New Year's Eve. This is the second time out of three visits that the evening was not good. Not going back.
Wow. I should learn to trust the other reviews. Went for New Year’s Eve. They had a limited menu and were crowded, but not insanely packed. Waiter got to our table after about five minutes. Placed some drink orders. They arrived about 15 minutes later. We ordered dinner and asked about salads. They didn’t have any on the menu for New Year’s Eve, but were told that a pasta dish would arrive before dinner that was in place of a salad. After more than one hour, nothing had arrived. Not even the waiter to ask if we needed more drinks. I asked what I thought was a manager behind the bar where the pasta was, he told me he didn’t work there.
Then, after another 15 minutes, I got up to ask again and they said, the food is coming. Sure enough, about five minutes later the entree arrived. I asked about the pasta and the waiter said he would check. Then, 10 minutes after that he said he would apply a Groupon discount to our order, but never offered the pasta. Meanwhile, we had ordered another drink when the dinner came. Sure enough, 25 minutes after that, just as we finished dinner, the drink arrived.
Another group that we knew who was stuck eating at Steak & Grapes stopped by as they were leaving. They had a similar experience. However, one of the ladies in that group, who was an older lady, said that the Owner was rude to her and said “I can’t help it if everyone wants to eat out on New Year’s Eve”.
To top it all off, they had a guy playing depressing love songs on some keyboard to further make it a downer of a night.
I have lived in Omaha for well over 50 years and never had an experience like this. This city is loaded with great restaurants, with great service. The food was only okay at Steak & Grapes and I can assure you it will be my one and only time there. I suspect they will be gone soon if they keep this kind of service up. Too many great options in this city.
We had a great time! Look forward to going back.
Our waiter Mark was a real pro; he took great care of us.
The food was very tasty- fantastic!
I can't really rate it on anything but service...Should get a zero...We were seated promptly...that was all...NO ONE ever came over to take our order....we waited...the host saw we were waiting for a server and brought waters...we waited some more...watched the servers go by...It wasn't even busy! Waited some more...then we got up and walked out! Was never a huge fan of their food to begin with...now this one will for sure be checked off the list!
I had an amazing experience. My entire family absolutely loved it.
Not sure why open table shows it as 4$’s. It is very reasonably priced. I had the best side salad ever. It had walnuts apples goat cheese and bacon. 2 very decent glasses of wine for only $6 (ea), and a very nice burger. Wish I would have ordered it medium but that is on me.
We went a on a slow night, maybe14 customers. Not sure why it took 10 minutes to get our drinks and 40 minutes to get our food.
Good food and good service.
This is the second time we visited Steak and Grapes. On our first visit their service was so delayed we were given a $25 gift certificate. Giving them a second chance ( assisted by the gist certificate they undercooked my wife's steak (rare vs. medium well) and overcooked mine (well vs. medium). They recooked the steaks, but in the interim, they brought the luke-warm sides to our table for us to snack on. Nice effort, but not and Omaha steak.
Good was terrible. Drinks were good. Very overpriced.
Good was average as was the service. Lots of little misses and confusion with our order. We will probably go again but with lower expectations.
Steak was very undercooked, weird side pasta was tough and calamari had an odd flavor.
Not a pleasant evening at all. Tables are very close together.
Our steaks were perfect and the service was outstanding.
It was really nice and we enjoyed great service from Betsie.
Great food and service. Would definitely go again.
It was our first time there and food was very good and our server was excellent!!! We feel that it was a bit overpriced though. Drinks were overpriced. There was only two of us and between dinner and drinks, our bill was $102. Not usually what we spend on dinner but was very very good. I definitely would recommend it!
The meal was one of the worst I have had in a restaurant in Omaha.
Very slow service. My steak was tough. Was the same Louie Wine bar just new name.
This visit was a much better experience than I experienced two weeks prior. The food was good, the service improved (although a little slow considering we had young kids with us).
Food was mediocre and service was slow...I really wanted it to be a better experience.
Really enjoyed our meal. Will go back again.
Liked the atmosphere. Did not offer bread or salad with steak dinner. No substitutions allowed. Steak was bland and undercooked. Smashed potatoes had no flavor.
My first time here - we came for a special occasion brunch on a Sunday. Excellent Bloody Mary's. The beignets were delicious! Service was great and all four of us left more than satisfied and look forward to a return visit.
Great waiter and food.
Great tasting food but served lukewarm soup and the meal was only warm as well. Even the butter warmer was useless with too small a candle too far from the butter. I asked for some really hot butter and the cook prepared it, set it out for delivery, then some guy with short grey hair ignored it while he chatted with a friend before handing it off to another server. My waiter got distracted also and another guy seemed to fill in. Although everyone was friendly, the end result was cold food and a lot of waiting. This is a management issue.
The service was very good. They overlooked my medium rare steak to well done. But the replaces with a new one and comped the steak. Decent recovery
Disappointed. Waiter was defensive one minute and smarmy the next. Got confused regarding orders and we diners were left to sort it out. Doubt if we will go again.
Father’s Day brunch ;
Service was great - food was good .
I make 3 egg omelettes at home fairly often so am familiar with the size... that was not a 3 egg omelette! But it was tasty.
We had a great table and enjoyed it.
Went for Sunday brunch to celebrate 2 family birthdays. Food was average, at best. Service was lack luster and it took quite a while for food to come, which was surprising since the restaurant was not busy at all. 2 of our party (out of 6) had to wait more then 10 minutes after the rest of the table to receive their food. We will not be going back.
Atmosphere is great, staff was very professional and attentive. Food was amazing, 3 people 3 different entrees all perfect. Definitely will go back.
Food was good, though menu seemed limited. Wine selection was nice. Will go back.
I ordered the Fried Lobster, it was fantastic. As good as the lobster we had in Maine.
Enjoyed Steak and Grape. Everyone enjoyed their meal except for myself and a friend who ordered the whiskey steak. We both ordered medium and it was rare, rare, rare. Had only been cooked on the outside.
The service was great and the food was very tasty. Only thing I didn't like was the French Onion soup...tasted very sour and not much in the way of onions, bread or cheese. Could have been baked to ooey gooey goodness. The complimentary dessert for our birthdays was exceptional.
Food came out hot. Well prepared. Wife had a chicken salad that was very goo. I had ribeye steak. It was prepared as ordered....medium rare. Steak was good but not all that flavorful. All was somewhat pricey. Wait staff brought our drinks, then took our order. Food came out fairly quickly. Wait staff didn’t check on us again until we were almost done eating. Would have expected better than that. Not impressed on attentiveness to us. Not a busy night either.
