Steak was a joke. This picture is a Kansas City bone in strip steak as it came out. Where’s the beef?!
We had dinner at Steak 48 to celebrate my daughter's graduation. The food, service, ambiance and vibe were fabulous! Every dish our group had was delicious from the steaks, sides to the popcorn oreo sundae!
Great as always from the food to friendly staff. They keep me and my husband returning. I recommend this place for special occasions.
Amazing at every level. Can’t wait to become regular customers.
Steak 48 is an awesome restaurant. This was my second visit, but my husband and the couple who joined us first. It was our 24th wedding anniversary and we had a great time. The food is great, the service, the ambience, etc. The steaks are cooked to perfection, but they could be a bit more seasoned.
Thanks Steak 48 for making our night a great one!

Food was excellent and so was the service. Tables were a little too close together but overall it was a great experience.
Our 1 year anniversary was made extra special at Steak 48, service and food were superb!
I enjoyed my 30th birthday celebration at Steak 48. The drink selections were deliciously creative, the food was scrumptious and the atmosphere was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for any occassion or for a chic fine dining experience. This place is definitely being added to my list of favorites.
Floor was too slippery
We went for our anniversary. Our server, Roy, was warm, friendly and gave us great and honest recommendations for food and wine. We even received a hand written note from the general manager, which was very thoughtful.
We brought some friends in that were visiting us from Dallas. We sat in the back to get a view of the busy kitchen. John was our waiter and he was OUTSTANDING!! The perfect blend of there when you need him and not when you don’t! We had two apps/cocktails/entrees/ bottle of wine and coffees w dessert. Over $1000 for 4, but everything was divine!!
My wife turned 40, and had a wonderful time. The food was magnificent and the server was top of the line. Certified!
Best steak & sides in Houston! Perfect for a date night or special occasion. Service was amazing!
Loved having a private room away from all the crowd and the food was amazing 💕
We went there for my birthday again this year, everything was fabulous like always!
My lady’s birthday. Service & food was outstanding and although somewhat expensive it was well worth it. Service was wonderful. Will return again.
The staff called us by name. Food was excellent, and the ambience makes for a wonderful night out.
The steaks where excellent very tender. The appetizers where just ok lacked flavor we ordered calamari and fried devil eggs. The server was excellent. I will go here again just for the drinks and main dish.
We were disappointed in how loud the restaurant was. It made it difficult to have a conversation. There is a very small lobby and to get to our table we had to go through a narrow hallway that had people on both sides. It was uncomfortable to get through and very awkward as we were bumping into people.
The food and service were good but we won't be back. There are many other steakhouses in Houston that offer the ambiance that we feel an upscale restaurant should have.
Anniversary dinner. Arthur was our server and he was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. I definitely enjoyed everything about the experience.
Great food and service! Birthday celebration was accented by a personal note from the General Manager, followed by a phone call the next day wanting to know how we'd enjoyed the dining experience. That's a sign of exceptional customer service!
Overall the service and food were impeccably above standard. However, the table to which we were accommodated was one of the worst ones for any occasion, especially for a birthday dinner. The hostess was kind enough to oblige to change the assigned table. To our surprise it was worse than the prior. My date and I had to sit next to a large group of rookie athletes who seemed to have never been out in public being that they were obnoxiously loud.(they cheered, clapped, screamed and whistled when the restsurants blinds were lifted and admitted light) The best part was the amplified noise level created by the small back room where we were seated. Perhaps this inconvenience could have been avoided if the restaurant had better sense of seating placement based on the party size and occasion. Birthday date party of Two, bar area in back room..... superb!
The waiter demonstrated outstanding service, the food quality was perfect, ambiance was great once the rookies left. All in all, amazing after the first 30 minutes of obnoxious morons.
We sat at the bar seating area at one of the table right under vents and it was freezing. The restaurant eventually adjusted the air and it was more manageable.
We had an excellent meal for Mothers day. Out waiter was really frank about the offerings helping to guide us with final decisions. Food was fantastic.
One of the best service / food and ambiance... we look forward to going back
Excellent steak, sides and appetizers. Love the separation of seating areas into intimate areas, so we could hear each other talk. Our waiter was warm, responsive, and knew his product. Mother's Day dinner was great, largely because of Steak 48. Steak houses are our destination of choice for dining out. We decided, Steak 48 is now our favorite for a great juicy steak. Thank you.
The service is very good but the food and selection is outstanding. It was an abnormal wait as it was mother's day. I do however highly recommend this venue.
Had reservations for 4:15. Didn’t get seated until 5pm. Had to wait a little over an hour to get out mr phone. Won’t be returning to this restaurant. Service was average. For the $300 dollars I spent I expected to be seated promptly especially since I arrived 30 minutes early. And waiting in excess to get our food was unacceptable. The only way I’ll be returning is if I got some type of gift card or coupon to give this place another try. On a scale of 1 to 5 I’d give it a two. I was told it was formal dining also and when my family and I arrived people were walking around in t shirts, shorts and jeans. Not at all what I expected for the money I spent. Vic and Anthony’s is much better service and food
This is an awesome place to dine! You want be disappointed! Everything we ordered was delish and very tasty! Our server Jason was excellent and very attentive! Our Kc strip was very tender and juicy! This was our 1st time here and definitely want be our last! You must try the chocolate chip bread pudding omg it was yummy to our tummies 😁!
Really wonderful restaurants. Drinks were strong. Appetizers were speedy. Bread was delicious. Salads were garden fresh. Steaks were thick and cooked to perfection. Service was slow due to Mother’s Day rush , but I would definitely go back. Tables are quite close together, but couldn’t heat others conversations because of Restaurant buzz. Great for special occasions!
My most recent visit was for Mother’s Day. As a family we expected it to be busy. As soon as we were seated our wonderful waitress warned us of the kitchen being behind. Which was fine. We ordered the crispy shrimp appetizer which was phenomenal, but on top of that we received shrimp cocktail on the house! It was so good I wanted to cry. The food came out a little while later and it was definitely worth the wait! I would recommend Steak 48 to any and everyone. The staff is awesome and the food is out of this world. Thank you.
Mother’s day was an unmitigated disaster. We sat down at 2:45 and left at 4:30 without eating as we were told that food wouldn’t come for another 45 minutes. I know restaurants are busy for Mother’s Day but this was bizarre experience as we only had 3 in party. Marvin from restaurant called to apologize but didn’t offer to comp a meal. There’s so many great steak restaurants in Houston that can bring it and keep up. Steak 48 light weight and NOT up to task. Pappas Steaks and Vic & Anthonys will be our go to from now on.
It was a horrible experience. I was advised by the waiter no to order a STEAK because the kitchen was so backed up. Waited over 2 and a half hours on my food. I was late to work.
Our Mother's Day lunch (that became dinner) was an EPIC failure! To start off, my party of 3 was seated nearly a 1/2 hour after our reservation time, which did not make sense as the seating area was full of open tables. Once seated, our waiter was kind enough to inform us of a "slight" issue in the kitchen that would delay our appetizers for 15-20 minutes. Upon ordering our entrees, we were not offered an updated time-frame, so we just waited, and Waited, and WAITED! So long that my mother lost her appetite and was ready to leave. Honestly, I was very upset because we were never warned of the nearly 2 hour lead time for entrees and we had to cancel plans that followed our lunch (turned dinner). Our waiter was unable to provide any useful information other than "they're working on it." I promised my Mom that the food would make up for it, but Steak 48 dropped the ball again. Our Rib-eyes were full of fat and char-grilled to eternity and the Salmon only had flavor because it was aided by additional pours of lemon butter. To make a long story short, Steak 48 is no longer on my list of top restaurants in Houston. Honestly, I'd rather eat at Saltgrass.
Similar to others, I booked this restaurant to celebrate Mother’s Day. Unfortunately - the service out of the kitchen was extremely slow. Apparently this was a reoccurring theme as others around us complained about the extremely long wait times for food. When we were seated, we immediately ordered entrees for our kids so they wouldn’t have to wait. However, the adult meals (which was ordered 15-20 mins afterwards) came out before the children’s meal. In addition, the table next to us received their meal before we did despite being seated 30 minutes after we did. Our server was very apologetic and tried his best to explain the unusual delays but ultimate he didn’t have any answers and could only say sorry. But my biggest disappointment with this restaurant was that there were several floor managers who knew there were problems and they went out of their way to avoid speaking with me or apologize for what was a disastrous Mother’s Day meal.
The occasion was Mother’s Day and my husband, daughter and myself arrived at 1:30 we had reservations for 2:00, we were told that we would be seated close to our time. We were not seated until 2:20 when my husband went to the front they stated they had been calling me on the phone which was not true, because my phone was in my hand and we were right at the bar waiting. I received a call the day before so I know they had my number and the correct number. Once we were finally seated the waiter informed us that the kitchen was behind backed up and our order would be a little longer then usual so we ordered appetizers and went ahead and put in our order. Now, the appetizers came out really fast, which made us wonder if this was someone else’s order, because we waited so long that the waiter went and talk to the manager, came to our table and stated he would have our food out ASAP, but I guess after going to the kitchen he knew it was going to take longer. The manager came back and told us it would be longer and he would take care of the check. We waited until 4:00 and our food was still not there, approximately around 4:20 the food came and we just boxed it up. I had already canceled my order anyway, but the manager brought the order I had canceled. I guess they never canceled my order, needless to say it was boxed as well. I never ate the food even after getting home I was just frustrated with the way things went and the next day my husband and I was talking about the incident when he mentioned that the fish was over cooked and very dry, he was so disappointed with steak 48, because we have been their before and had a perfectly good dinner. Something needs to change with that chief and the organization of that restaurant. Very poor service. Nice manager but we felt he was not honest about what was happening in that kitchen. Our waiter was excellent he just was unable to properly serve us based on what he had to work with.
I have already spoken with management (Luis) about my experience at your restaurant, he’s being very gracious about correcting the situation and making things right.
It was our first sub par experience here. The restaurant opened early for Mother’s Day but apparently the kitchen didn’t get the memo. We arrived at our reserved time of 1 pm and were not served until nearly 4pm. What a damper on mine and my mom’s Mother’s Day. My mom is also diabetic and her meal was almost 3 hrs past her schedule. It was a very disappointing “special occasion” outing. We will probably skip any future “early” openings. No reflection on our server. He was a pro and did his best to distract us from whatever disaster was going on in the kitchen.
I took my mom out for mothers day and thought since we had reservations it wouldn't be a long wait well we ended up waiting over an hour to get our food I doubt I will dine there again
