We came to Steadfast after seeing Hamilton midday on Saturday and really really enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu. The service was excellent, the food was amazing, and the ambiance was lovely. Next time we're in town, I have a feeling we'll be back for more!
Great service and a great menu! Definitely a good spot for a date or special occasion.
Tasty but more casual food (gourmet sandwiches vs. entres), very well prepared, service was pleasant but a bit stretched at lunch time, restaurant was very noisy.
Wonderful food, service and ambiance. Will be going back.
The menu is different (or odd) for a restaurant that appears to cater to businesspeople. Burgers and fries were delicious but I would not go here to impress a client. The service was average and messed up one of our orders but took it off the bill.
My wife and I had a spectacular dinner at Steadfast. All the courses were great. Her steak was magnificent -- better than at the top steak restaurants in Chicago. An all-around wonderful experience.
Service is always exceptional. Try to make it in before 6 o’ clock for the Happy Hour.
I have been to Steadfast a few times for business lunches. It has a small but good menu. I haven't yet been disappointed with the food or service. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is that after three or four times, there isn't much new to try.
Great food creatively & expertly prepared.
We sampled many of the appetizers & at least 5 or 6 entrees, & a variety of drinks. We would also have ordered desserts, but ran out of time (theatre night).
Everyone pronounced everything delicious!
Service was perfect. We loved the space too.
All in all, an enjoyable meal for all 7 of us.
We’d go back in a heartbeat. Unfortunately only one of us was a native Chicagoan.
We came in as a four-top for New Years and ordered the 5 course chef tasting. The food was marvelous. Presentation was consistent and service was impeccable. And I knew when the server brought Second dessert, it was going to be a great night
Very good lobster chowder. Quite unique. Fresh biscuits in the chowder. Generous, delicious pieces of lobster. "The Greek", which is listed in the menu just as "The Greek", turns out to be pretty average Greek salad. They did not have any bread to go with the salad or the chowder, but when I asked for some the waitress said she would inquire. And inquire she did! After much ado, and repeated trips to the table to confirm I wanted bread (to which I said, no bother, don't worry), they brought me two fresh, and very warm, baguettes. I would not get The Greek again. I would go back just for the lobster chowder.
Food was excellent and different, cozy atmosphere. There was a mistake in delivering what was ordered and they went out of there way to correct- wonderful!
Breakfast at Steadfast provided a good opportunity to talk, enjoy a good meal, and good service. We'll make this a regular spot.
Before a shoa
Great ambiance. Lunch menu appetizers were small portion for sharing with group but sandwich menu was perfect size for lunch. Low noise level was a plus!
The $25 charcuterie plate is not a good value. I've ordered many of these, and in that price range, the volume of food is typically a lot higher. This is a $10-$12 charcuterie plate. The food our table had was all very good, but not "value priced" and that's fine. Ambiance-wise, try as they might, the restaurant still feels like a hotel lobby. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, but when the restaurant got busy, the staff was overstretched and it was tough to get the check. Overall, it was a decent meal, but there are better restaurants for ambiance, value, and food within only a few blocks.
Had the bread tasting along with the 5 course prefix and everything was fantastic. Special thanks to Nate for the exelent Service! Would recommend this place and the service for sure!
Food took forever to come out and when it did, eggs were cold, toast was harder than a rock. Manager was very apologetic though and comped half of our meal.
Tasting menu was amazing! Ambience in the restaurant perfect for an after show dinner.
Filet was like BUTTER! Ruth's Chris are rookies compared to Steadfast.
Great Cubans, salad, appetizers and burgers.
What an unexpected find. We had tickets for a show at the Cadillac theater and of course I waited until last minute to make a reservation and we totally lucked out. Arrived a bit late due to traffic but we were seated right away. The place is small and very intimate, I thought it would be a large bar setting based on the pictures, but it was a nice surprise to find it perfect for a date night. Comfy seating, great service! We were tight on time but our wait staff showed great team work in getting us the full 6 course tasting menu in under 1 hour, next time we will try the wine pairing as well . I would recommend, that you give yourself 1.5 hours for the tasting menu to fully enjoy its flavor. Simply amazing food, we will be back.
Thank you for getting us in early! Love that it is QUIET! No need to compete with loud music...great service and food was delicious...great place for intimate, post-wedding brunch for four...thank you.
Nathan was a real Pro. Food was great
We chose Steadfast to celebrate a milestone birthday, and were delighted by the excellent food, memorable cocktails and first-rate service. Josh was especially helpful with menu and drink choices, and we were frankly startled by how quickly our dinners arrived. The fresh-baked bread was a treat in itself. We will definitely return during our next visit to Chicago.
Very good service
Good service, nice five course offerings, good ambiance, and cool atmosphere. A bit pricey for their offerings but tasty nevertheless.
Love this place. Location isn’t the most convenient but the food, drinks and ambience more than offsets that.
Fabulous duck!!! Great wine pairings!
Well the food and service were great when I can theclast time. This time....Steadfast was closed though we had a confirmed reservation. I went to the restaurant this morning and the general manager was aghast at what happened. Claimed open table should never have allowed the reservation to go through as they decided to close the day after thanksgiving. Wanted to comp us dinner but we are leaving town today. A bit of chicken and egg issue but open table needs to investigate.
Waiter was fantastic!! Food was just “eh” unfortunately.
Traffic forced us to revise our 5:45 pre-orchestra dinner to 6:15, but the host graciously welcomed us and the kitchen and our server accommodated our time crunch. The 5-course tasting menu was excellent and filling and I think the 10 course tasting menu would have been too much food. Highlights were the wedge salad and the filet, as recommended by our wonderful server (I wish I had caught his name). The St. Andre cheese presentation was confusing and we did not care for the deep fried cracker, but we appreciated the attempt. We both loved the Steadfast Manhattan and the Syrah by the glass, which was Jean-Louis Chave Selection Saint-Joseph Offerus 2015. Beautiful room, comfortable seating, and subtle nighttime lighting. We'll be back!
The tasting menu was an outstanding value. The service was wonderful, very attentive and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Great ambiance and location.
This was a really great experience and a bit of a surprise as to how good the food was. The atmosphere is terrific as well.
Impeccable service and food. Always a reliably outstanding choice
Nice location. Very kid friendly. Good service. Food was okay. No parking validation. Only restaurant in Jack London that doesn't validate parking.
Dinner before a show
Won’t be back. Service was terrible. Can’t blame the server. He was stretched way too thin. Food was way overpriced for mediocrity in the city.
Always great service and food!
Steadfast has stolen my heart. I am here for the second time this week and my third time in a year...and I live outside San Francisco. I love that it is attached to The Gray. So nice to get dressed up and just take the elevator down. Great food and excellent service.
