Stationæry is a neighborhood restaurant in Carmel, California operated by husband and wife team, Anthony & Alissa Carnazzo. Tucked between San Carlos and Mission Streets in the San Carlos Square, this intimate 34 seat space is a haven for locals. Offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we celebrate comforting flavors with elegant presentation. Led by Chef Amalia Scatena, we primarily source from Monterey & Santa Cruz County farms and ranches, according to what is fresh and in season.

As a neighborhood restaurant, we love to keep tables open for walk-ins. However, due to restrictions and best practices related to Covid-19 we highly encourage reservations during this time. We have outdoor seating with heaters to accommodate our guests safely.

    Carmel can be sleepy. Caters to an older crowd both in pace and palette. We were so happy to have stumbled on Stationaery for dinner while in Carmel from San Francisco. The staff was young, energetic, friendly and knowledgeable. Service was perfectly attentive and conversational. The food and wine was amazing. We visit Carmel often and I feel comfortable saying this is the most innovative, unique menu you'll find. Fresh, vibrant flavors. You won't find that this restaurant, like every other in town, has the same menu. I highly recommend you make a reservation! We were hoping to also try for Brunch while in town but ran out of time. Don't miss Stationaery while in Carmel.

    Absolutely freaking delicious. From the oj to the biscuit to the bacon to the lettuce every ingredient is unbelievable and when combined to a meal they are greater than the sum of its parts. The location and atmosphere is casual yet refined, and the staff and family that owns it are so kind. We did have a reservation that they were 20 min late in having a free table, but it happens. The downside? Price... I am of the opinion that food should always be good, and charging extra for good food is silly. A glass of almond milk is like $7, the burger, if you add another patty, egg, and bacon, is $35.... I get that Carmel is expensive and minimum wage is high, but come on... a 35$ burger????? Delicious, but don’t treat it like any ol’ restaurant. It has a casual atmosphere, but you’re going to pay for fine dining food and prices.

    A lovely restaurant with a thoughtful, season menu. Service (even during COVID) was excellent, and all dishes were expertly prepared. We WILL return!

    It was our second time at this restaurant. For some reason, this place allows reservations at 1:30 and later. By that time you won’t be able to order anything tasty, because all these items are sold out. You only can get something that is left on the kitchen, that no one ordered earlier that day. The host is doing the terrible job of managing tables availability. Some tables can stay empty for a while, even after the grace period past, just to allow people who know the owner to sit down. Around two pm the host and other personnel are rushing everyone to finish their food because they are closing out. How people can get the normal service if they reserved a table at 1:30? Please, do not allow reservations at this time, or be respectful.

    Fresh delicious and healthful food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The outdoor seating area was comfortable and felt fairly private for dinner.

    My husband and I had a delicious birthday celebration meal at Stationaery. The bread and butter were exceptional (sourdough bread with exquisite chew, warmed out of the oven). I had the most delicious Sauvignon Blanc which we found out is produced by the owner's father, locally. So good we purchased a bottle to take home. My husband enjoyed the beef tenderloin and I had the halibut (cooked to perfection-seared on the outside and tender inside). We also ordered sides of pureed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The potatoes were heaven. Brussel sprouts were a bit saturated with a Korean glaze and too sweet (but this may just be a personal preference-they were tasty). At the price point, I believe starch should be included in the main course. The service was very good and friendly. They did not rush us in our meal which I appreciated. At the end of the meal, they offered complimentary prosecco for my birthday-that was much appreciated and a lovely gesture. We will be back for sure! One of the best dinners we have had in Carmel.
