Station 4 never disappoints for brunch. I have had Mike or Tim ( I think one of those names are his) several times while there for brunch. He is an awesome waiter, very attentive, and nice. The ambiance is beautiful and in the summer sitting outside enjoying the weather with a nice view. I'll def be back!
The service was very bad. Waiter had no idea of the menu. He had to go ask someone else for every question we asked. The experience was very bad.
It was our first and more-than likely last time. The fact the space wasn't crowed the hostess sat us almost on top of each other in the middle section. It was obvious brunch wasn't a norm for them.
Excellent food and service. Crab cakes were the best. Noise levels are perfect and wait staff was awesome.
Food was very slow to come out, which was frustrating because we were en route to a performance at Arena Stage, conveniently right around the corner. Our server was pleasant and accommodating, but there were general service issues. For example, the food Was brought out piecemeal. I would say there was a ten minute lapse between the first and last dishes arriving. Sides were missing. My salad without dressing was dressed while someone else got the salad with dressing on the side intended for me (we didn’t notice the error until late). And they ran out of a dish ordered by 2 of our 6 guests. The food was fine and the atmosphere was buzzing, but I think you can find better options in Southwest. If you are going pre theater, give yourself plenty of time if you’re in a group. The two top next to us got their food quickly, so may not be an issue if you’re only two people.
We usually come here for pre-theatre dinners. This time we ordered the same grilled seafood salad that we did at the previous visit and it came out totally different! The seafood didn't look grilled, more like sauteed and portion was smaller than last time. I think the kitchen was busier this evening due to a concert at the Anthem and their food showed it. I think corners were cut. If we didn't come here so often, we would probably not have noticed the discrepancy.
We did the bottomless mimosa brunch and it was wonderful. Our waiter was very attentive to our drinks and the food was delicious.
The food is very good and the service is as well. We have been here twice and liked it both times. It is very close to the Waterfront Metro station and very close to Arena Stage. It’s a bit pricey.
I love the decor and the food was wonderful. However, I did not appreciate the hard sell from the waiter to order more food and the tacit message that our table had not ordered enough (i.e., spent enough). My companion ordered a full entree and I ordered a salad entree - it was more than enough food. Too bad the waiter's attitude tainted an otherwise lovely experience. The restaurant is in very convenient proximity to Arena Stage and parking.
Wonderful and good was amazing
My friends and I had brunch on Sunday before an Arena play. The food was good, as was the service, and it was a convenient location to Arena. However it was so loud we had to shout at each other to hear even though we were sitting next to and across from each other. I would not go back or recommend it to others unless they significantly reduced their noise problem.
Found this on Open Table for Sunday Brunch. The menu looked amazing.
I ordered the Crab and Brie omelet only to be told they were out of the crab! I was so bummed. I ordered the Huervos Rancheros...It was good. All of our food came out very quickly, which led me to think it may be assembly line put together.
My husband had Eggs Benedict, he said the eggs were done perfectly. The hollandaise sauce was cold though.
Station 4 needs better reservation management before Arena theatre. We waited about a half an hour after our reservation time to be seated and then agreed to a hi-top just to get some food before the play. Waiter was good and tried hard but service was chaotic with different food arriving at different times and a side dish not appearing until the end of the meal. We had been there before with no probem so think they just need to figure out how to manage reservations and food service when both a matinee and an evening performance.
I’ve been to Station 4 for both happy hour and lunch and have had good experiences in the past. On this occasion, we ate an early dinner for 5:00 before heading to The Anthem for a show. It was a good thing we arrived before the rush to put in our orders, because after receiving one drink and our entrees, we never once again saw a server or were asked if we needed anything—not even a water refill from other waitstaff passing by. The food was decent, but we stuck with the pizzas because the other entrees seemed way overpriced for what this place is. Wouldn’t recommend it for dinner and definitely not on a concert night, as they seemed ill prepared to handle the rush. Others around us were looking for service and had mix-ups on their orders and also seemed less than impressed.
Awesome food, really enjoyed the atmosphere (Saturday brunch), great server and employees! They all were super patient and nice
Great service! Tasty food
Excellent management - excellent services and great food !
The seared sesame tuna was the best my wife and I have ever had. Our server, Mr. Maroun, is a gem. He's very personable, warm and very attentive, keeping an eye on us to make sure we got to the theater on time as well as keeping our water glasses full. We always ask for him when we go to Station 4.
This restaurant has always had beautiful decor but with the change in chef it now has the entire package. (Previous menu left much to be desired.) The new chef offers a great menu of choices and the tastiness is excellent. Friendly staff. We dine here far more often now with the menu and chef change!
My friends and I attend Sunday matinee performances at Arena Stage. The closest restaurant is Station 4, one block from the theater. We visit the restaurant 8 or 9 times a year. We always have excellent service. Request Tim as your waiter. He is the best. This week we enjoyed the French toast, Mediterranean omelet (salad substituted for potatoes), and a good sized hamburger/fries. Everything was very good. We commented to Tim that we missed a couple of items that had disappeared from the menu. He sent the regional manager over to talk to us. Ahmed (?) was charming and very responsive to our comments. He also told us that the owners were opening two more restaurants in the coming weeks, Lupo Verde at the Wharf and in Palisades. We look forward to trying the new restaurants as well.
The staff felt very Junior for the price tag. Cadence of the meal was way off. Server was inexperienced. They did try to make it right. (To their credit) But the food was very ordinary. I doubt we will be back.
This has become our favorite weekend brunch place, but we’ve also frequently come here for lunch and dinner. We have never had a meal that wasn’t outstanding. Attentive service, attractive presentation, generous portions are the rule, no exceptions. They are especially adept with seafood: always fresh, perfectly cooked. Maroun is our favorite server, but every server we’ve had has been knowledgeable and attentive.
I visit this establishment whenever I have to usher at Arena Stage. All the server I have had always greet me. The hostess is great too. I try to get something different each time that I am there.
good spot cool area we liked the service and food was decent as well
The service was excellent. Due to traffic, we had a quick turn to get to the theater. Our server took care of us and we made it in time. I had one of the best pork shanks I’ve ever had, to include in Germany.
Station 4 is always a great experience and the professionalism of the servers is a treat. During my latest visit we had Marie as our server. She was attentive, courteous and extremely helpful. Our party had 9 people and she appeared very patient and attentive to any questions or menu recommendations. We will definitely be back!
This was my second time eating at Station 4, the food was good and I actually like this place. Nice place to get a meal nothing really stands out as spectacular just good food at a decent price. I will be a regular since I live in the area now.
We made a reservation for six ... two more unexpectedly joined?! The staff (Andreas) accommodated without missing a beat! The food was as good as advertised, perhaps even better.
Bronzino entree was excellent! Good cocktails and appetizers!
Just visiting DC with my boyfriend, came across this place near our hotel and it was awesome. Perfect place for Brunch !
I like this place, but the service can be hit or miss at times. We had to remind our waiter to bring us things we asked for a few time.
My server wasn’t as attentive
We sat in a booth by the window, and the four of us were easily able to carry on a normal conversation. The food is was yummy and the service was good. This is a great place to dine before a play at nearby Arena Stage.
Seafood was excellent. Steak was medium well and not medium rare. Server kept pushing bottle of wine after being told no thank you three times
The restaurant's proximity to Arena Stage makes it an ideal pre-theater spot. The prix fixe pre-theater menu is a good deal. However, it's value is somewhat diminished because the 10% discount for Arena customers isn't valid with the prix fixe.
The food is good, not great, but good. The menu is varied so there is something for almost every taste. My biggest gripe is with the service. For a restaurant that touts it's convenience as a pre-theater spot, the service--especially at the end of the meal waiting for the waiter to bring a check--is poor. This was not a one-time occurrence. The last time we came here--also pre-theater--we experienced the same problems.
Looks like we may have to find another pre-theater dining venue.
When I order juice at brunch, please do not bring me a glass full of ice and an ounce of juice and charge me full price. I ordered a glass of juice. I didn't order a glass of ice. It seems that there is not enough wait staff covering brunch.
Made 12:30pm reservations for Sunday brunch. Was called at 12:22pm to confirm I was still coming. Restaurant is small but nice. We were a party of 4. We ordered French toast, Breakfast burger, Scrambled eggs w/cheese, bacon, House salad. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was very nice and welcoming.
Great pre-Arena Theater spot! Pre-theater dinner reasonable if limited. One in our party chose w/Caesar salad, salmon (was good with fennel’s) & a brownie. Table also had delicious burrata & tomatoes salad and main course Sesame Tuna w/glazed veggies — quite cooked & barely seared as we like.
Since it's opening, about7 years ago, my husband and I have witnessed this restaurant's finest and lowest moments. At one point we swore, we would never return but we remained customers and visited occasionally. Thank goodness we never gave up!!!
Our last dining experience was beyond our expectations and joyously appreciated. The waiter was very attentive and spoke at a sufficient volume to be heard over the loud background. The meal, appetizers and entrée, was not only delicious but presented beautifully. We shared the excellently prepared whole bronzini, after it was deboned with flair at our table by District Manager Mohamed.
We will be happy to convey details of our dining experience to our friends.
The server appeared to need more guidance. The food was very good.
I had a wonderful time, my friends love their food ! I think our waiter could have been a little bit more attentive but overall I would recommend for Saturday brunch!
