Station 4 Ratings and Reviews
We were going to Arena Stage to see a show and we chose Station 4 for the convenience. We had also eaten there before and had a good meal so that was also a factor in our selection. I am not an egg eater but there were several options for me. My wife go an omelet which she enjoyed. I got the cheese plate which offered three tasty cheeses with accompaniments. We had time for dessert and got the chocolate lava cake which flowed with chocolate. A very satisfying meal.
Dined before concert at the Anthem because no reservations available at the Waterfront. Very pleasantly surprised! Nice salmon tartare app and scallop dinner. Didn’t have time for dessert. Good service too. Would have been fine to walk down to the Anthem if the weather was better so plan accordingly.
I feel the restaurant was conflicted...2/3 of the space had a fine dining feel - with tasty, well-presented food to match, but the other 1/3 (which ran down the side) was more like a sports bar, with loud music...
We were seated at a small table for two (almost cocktail-sized), which struggled to accommodate our water, cocktails, bread and plates.
We were there pre-theater for dinner. And they did a great job getting the food out to us and helping us meet the theater start time. The food was also good. But it was so loud in there that we didn't really get a chance to talk until we got to the theater. I would only go back if it was an off time of day.
Our comatose waiter screwed up the order, and there are not that many choices on the brunch menu. I ordered one type of omelet and was served a very different one entirely--lucky I wasn't allergic! The neighborhood is about to have stiff competition in terms of restaurant choices and Station 4 better shape up if it wants to keep up. Much too noisy for good conversation. I will not be back.
We dined at Station 4 before a play at Arena Stage. 2 of us ordered the pre-theatre meal - great value. I thought the entree portion would be smaller than an entree at regular price but it wasn't. We came back after the play for desert. Just made for a great evening with friends.
We were eating here before an event at Arena Stage. The service was very good and attentive, but they got a couple of things wrong with our order: we ordered the seared tuna, but got the tuna salad instead and mussels but got chicken instead. The plates were quickly replaced with the correct meals. Perhaps we were given someone else's order at first. My companions asked for plain butter instead of the lovely herbed butter that comes with bread. They thought the butter didn't taste fresh. That was replaced and everyone was happy. Overall, it was a very pleasant meal despite these small problems. I would come again.
It's a decent option at Waterfront for pre-theater going. Parties of two are always seated at these tiny tables that can barely hold glasses and utensils, let alone food plates. Service is always friendly but rather inattentive. The food is good but not mind blowing, there's a diverse menu and it's reasonably priced.
I took my mother for her birthday and as a before theater dinner. The service was prompt and thorough. The scallops and jambalaya were excellent, as was the fresh fish special - prepared simply with tomatoes and fingerling potatoes. They comped both of our desserts due to it being my mom’s bday. The restaurants decor is nice, fireplace, and eye catching lighting fixtures. I recommend.
The food was very tasty, but they do not handle allergies well. At all. My teenage son has a severe nut allergy and before ordering we explained that to the server, requesting that he tell us if anything we order had nuts or nut oils as an ingredient. I've given this request for 13 years when dining out. We were assured that everything was clear. The food arrived and everything looked and smelled great... so we did what families do and each tasted the other. Then I noticed the pine nuts hidden between the bed of spinach and the pork shank on my plate. The restaurant was apologetic, but we spent the next four hours concerned that we'd have to go to the hospital (there can be a 4-hour delay for allergic reactions). We were lucky and he was fine. But I would only recommend Station 4 if you have no food allergies.
Smoked Gouda Macaroni and Cheese is excellent. It's generally good for brunch, but on this occasion, my friend's eggs were cold and the replacements brought were just as bad. Her meal was not put on the bill, and the service was generally excellent, including trying to correct this problem.
The major downside is the noise level. I tend to go to Saturday brunch or in off hours during the week to avoid the really bad times.
Ridiculous one hour wait from time of seating (and 45 minutes from time of ordering) to receive 4 simple omelets. We came before an Arena Stage matinee. We had a 12:30 pm lunch reservation for a 2:00 PM show. We received our omelets at 1:30 PM, wolfed them down and raced to the theater. To be fair this didn't seem to be the fault of the servers, but rather the kitchen. My husband said he saw servers lined up waiting for food. It was not relaxing or enjoyable. The food was adequate.
