State Street Provisions
Birthday brunch was delicious!
This was a great place to come with a group for brunch on a Saturday. The food was delicious and the brunch menu had something for everyone! I would definitely come back here or recommend it to others!
Very nice dinner, and although we didn’t realize it when we arrived early (5:30) $1 oysters until 6:00 every night. As a result, the bar was packed more than the dining room at first. But $1 oysters were available there for us as well. And, the main courses, grilled scallops and fish and chips, were very good also.
Great food - our server was rushing us the entire time. Made for a short dinner - which may have turned into more cocktails, coffee and dessert. As a person who travels a ton for business - recognizing the optics of a table and the potential spend would be something I would suggest.
Great food! And $1 oysters from 4-6 was a great touch
My sister and I came for brunch after a conference. They were able to seat us 30 minutes prior to actual reservation time, which was really great. Please wasn’t overly crowded, but from the beginning we realize how loud it was. We had to turn the table to sit closer so that we could have a conversation. My sister ordered the Mediterranean salad with salmon on top. The salad was fresh, but not very much of it. The salmon was very salty and very very fishy. I ordered the yogurt parfait, and the avocado toast. There’s probably less than 3 ounces of yogurt, with a little jam. The toast was a thin piece of bread, with max 2 tablespoons of smashed avocado on top. Some crunchy chickpeas, and a small pepper. Totally not worth what they were charging. All In all, I was less than impressed. Especially for the price!
I had the braised short rib and it was delicious. My girlfriend had the scallops which were delectable. Make sure to make reservations as it was packed for a Thursday night. Staff was attentive and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal. We had Island Creek Oysters (Duxbury) for our appetizer. Wine list was more than adequate and drink list was interesting. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was good as was the service. Fish and chips were plentiful and well done. Drinks were good. We would return.
Great quick and easy business lunch spot or dinner.
Everything was great, food is good and atmosphere is great!
It was a very nice atmosphere. I definitely loved loved loved the oysters.
Servers help us out of towners make some great good choices. We enjoyed our visit so much that we returned the following night for $1 oysters! Would definitely recommend going here!
Understaffed so we waited a long time for our drinks. Bartender seemed not to notice that we were waiting (although we were seated in bar area). Other wait staff, when signaled, shrugged and said they would let our waiter know. On top of everything, had a few oysters that just weren’t good. This is a major change since I visited this spot several times over the summer, when service was commensurate with the crowd and very attentive.
This was really a poor meal from a place I've come to expect more from. Fish tasted old, kids food was very late and french toast was raw and too dangerous to have kids eat, and no one seemed to actually be our server.
Really good environment. Loud and energetic. Really fast service! Food is good, I recommend the cheeseboard 100%!
Our food and drinks were phenomenal- I highly recommend the braised short ribs and salmon poke bowl.
The noise level from the bar was a bit loud for those of us trying to enjoy a dinner and have a conversation. The curtains do no not provide adequate sound blocking or absorption.
Staff is quick and efficient but not as educated on liquor or wine as they should be for working in a metropolitan restaurant.
We will definitely return for an earlier, more casual dinner in the bar.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at State Street Provisions. We celebrated my sister’s birthday, and the energy and ambiance blended to aid to the celebration.
My brother-in-law and I throughly enjoyed our Pork Chop, my sister loved her Sea Bass and their preparations which were unique and delicious. The only reason we did not rate the Food as Excellent was that my husband who had Scallops and Pork Belly thought they were not well seasoned, and the Pork Belly was not cooked sufficiently.
The brunch food was excellent. Oysters was fresh. Seating was comfortable and ambient atmosphere, makes it a nice place to catch-up with friends or family. But our server that day was not that attentive. After he cleaned off our table, we were chilling a little bit longer and finishing our drinks. But we never saw him come back or at least give us a heads up maybe his shift is over and somebody else can help us or whatsoever. Nope. We have to flag down another waiter and he was nicer. Overall, the food was good and a nice atmosphere. We probably will go back again.
The service is bad; they know that and they don’t care. My mistake for hoping it’d be anything other than what it is
Best clam chowder I had in Boston!
Smart, fast, and attentive service, great location and ambiance, comfortable seating, never felt rushed, and the food was inventive and yummy, even for a vegetarian.
Great spot, odd entre management! So, it was a great night in Boston, we sat out side and had great service, but everything we ordered, which was on the menu, we had to substitute, e.g. sea bass transformed into swordfish; french wine, transformed into italian... so the substitute food was good, good service, but just may have been 'one of those nights' when the delivery truck didn't show
Always a great meal and experience at State Street Provisions! Excellent drink selection, good selection - and my favorite lobster bisque!
Great food and atmosphere, quiet enough to hold a conversation and casual enough to feel relaxed.
Great Resturant. Although the outside can be loud by the Bus tour area. Resturant served great food and I’d definitely return
The restaurant is in a very convenient location near the aquarium and the ambiance was nice. But food was nothing to write home about. We went for breakfast and ordered the vegetable omelet and lobster benny. The server stated that the veggies that go into the omelet were premixed together so we couldn’t request one ingredient to be removed. The potatoes with the omelets were tasteless and cold by the time our meals got to us. Also, there are no other options besides milk available to go with our coffee and latte. Service was great though. But I expected better food for what we were paying.
Had lunch with friends. Parking available at Marriott across street which they will provide validation. Had the salmon tartare and Greek salad. High quality and tasty. Service was average.
Great food and friendly service
This is my third time eating here. Had a lovely brunch on the patio. The crunchy eggs bene is delish. Great service too.
We randomly picked this spot on a Sunday to enjoy a nice outdoor place near the wharf. The food was great, the server was very attentive and the overall setting was very relaxing.
Great outdoor seating in the shade! Food and drinks at brunch were wonderful and service was very attentive.
Food was mediocre. My lobster gnocchi had 3 small pieces of lobster that were tasteless as though they had freezer burn. I’d hate to see what comes with the small portion. We waited 45 minutes for someone to come back so we could order dessert or a second round of drinks after our plates were cleared and drinks had been empty since shortly after the food arrived. When they finally sent over someone else to help us since our waitress was busy, and apparently no one manages the restaurant, we ordered our desserts only to be told they had just run out of 3 of the orders. If only we hadn’t had to wait 45 minutes to place the order.
Had high hopes for this brunch based on Yelp reviews, but was a bit let down. The service took a long time, it was at least 15 minutes before we got our drinks (after we ordered them, and then had to remind the server). Food was just okay. I got the lobster benny and it was not very hot, lukewarm. Overpriced for the taste and value. I would recommend brunch if you are looking for $9 mimosas, but other than that, I have had better brunches around Boston. Try Capo in Southie instead.
Pleasant but poor service, the restaurant was understaffed. The food was inadequate and our server seemed incompetent.
The menu was a bit limited but the food was delicious. The tuna was seared just right & the New England clam chowder was 'chowda' not potato soup.
Food was great!
While the food was very good, our server was disinterested, slow and projected an attitude that strongly suggested that she would rather be anywhere than serving food at the restaurant. It is worth the visit as long as you get an attentive and engaged server.
Food was good as usuakt and would have gotten a 4 except fries looked like bottom of the basket, small and clumpes together. Their biggest issue is still thebslow service
Food was good, service was slow.
It was a pleasant evening but being outside on a Main Street with sirens and traffic made conversation difficult and sound level high! Food wasn't bad, but nothing exceptional
