State Street Provisions
Delicious new omelette on the menu.
First time there! Liked it very much! Good food, fun atmosphere
Nice food and friendly people. Had late dinner and brunch!
I'm sorry to say I've given this place too many chances. I came in again the other night with a group of friends and the service along with the food was lackluster and not memorable. Between us we had the clam chowder, lobster bisque and caesar salad to start. The appetizers were decent but took too long to arrive. For entrees, we had lobster rolls, the steak frites, and fish & chips. The steak was cut in half and tough, and fries overcooked. The lobster rolls were undersized for $28. Overall between the service and the food, I will not be back.
Food here is great. Had a bit of a rough visit last time where they brought one of us the wrong dish, so they rushed fixing it and the end product wasn’t cooked well. Luckily I have been here before and it was great, so hopefully just bad luck! I would have appreciated if they comped part of the meal considering it was just two of us so we ate at different times. Server didn’t seem to want to be troubled with ensuring that didn’t leave us with a bad impression. But I’d still reco it to anyone for a good brunch! Ambiance is great - very classic New England with a great menu.
We were a bit disappointed abput the food. The bisque was very watery. Our mains were 'okay' although the fries were overcooked so not tasty. Prices quite high in relation to quality of the food. Would not go back since better alternatives available.
Very nice venue to dine in. Thank you very much!
I would recommend eating here!
We love this place! It's our go-to restaurant when we are in Boston!!!
Decided to try State Street Provisions for Mother’s Day as the menu seemed to have something for everyone’s tastes. The decor is nice, rustic with a contemporary flair to it. One unfortunate aspect of the meal was that service was a bit disjointed. While everyone liked their main, the appetizer oysters had shell fragments which was unappealing and bread service came at the same time as entree course. It took a while to get a cocktail, and by the time we ordered our appetizers and entrees a table that was seated after us had already received their apps. It wasn’t a big enough deal to ruin our experience, but just enough that everyone at the table mentioned the pacing seemed a bit off.
Overall I would give the place another shot, maybe at the bar next time.
Amazing. Food was Great, everything was awesome!!! I brought my mom n aunt for mothers day. They loved the meat and Cheese plate. Outstanding. Everything was fresh and well presented. Thanks
Fun light atmosphere, great service (thanks Emma)! Food very good, 4 varieties of oysters, some mussels, etc. great location by harbor and aquarium.
Excellent experience. Cheese board was a fantastic and delicious appetizer. My boyfriend got the blueberry pancakes. They were sweet and delicious. I got the Lobster Benny - rich with plenty of legit lobster. If there was any criticism, it would be that the entrees came out Luke warm rather than hot. However this is our second trip here and we highly recommend.
The chicken came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The staff is friendly and accommodating. This restaurant certainly lives up to its well-deserved reputation. Highly recommend.
Good option for dinner right near the aquarium. Also has a kids menu and is relatively kid friendly. Good yeast rolls are the beginning with salted butter, yum.
Great ambience and food. Valet across the street at Marriott with validation from restaurant was super convenient. Just noisy for me taste but would recommend.
The ambience was nice but unfortunately the food was very salty. Every dish tasted the same and the service was substandard. The young blonde girl that was serving us clearly did not want to be there. She barely spoke, didn’t check on us periodically and when she did she seemed bothered. Definitely will not return.
Gnocci with boar was overcooked and seemed like it had been reheated, pizza came out cold, salad came out not modified as requested, chicken way too salty. Nobody in our party of five enjoyed their food. Would not recommend.
We went to celebrate my mom’s first Boston Marathon finish! Food was good and our server was amazing. Even gave us a shoutout on insta. Overall great experience
The environment is Okay. Not good for a big group of people (12). We waited two hours for the food and got some entrees which are already cold. Two of us got sick because of the food.
We had dinner here a couple of years ago and liked it so we decided to try it for brunch. We were disappointed. It took over an hour to get our food (we were a party of 4) and the server made no apologies. The crispy eggs benedict tasted like fish cakes. They must have been cooked in the same oil as the fish. We were seated near the entrance and every time the door opened, there was a blast of cold air. Too bad, we had enjoyed it the first time and looked forward to another good experience.
The food was fantastic, pricing was great, and the atmosphere was great. Definitely coming back again!
Entrees were good but side dishes were not. Fish in fish and chips was good. Chips were cold and soggy
Best lobster bisque ever. Our whole group raved about it for days. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. We wanted a quiet place away from the convention center to eat good food and catch up, and State Street Provisions totally delivered. This might be my regular PAX East go-to now.
Had a lovely dinner with some out of town guests. We appreciated that we could actually carry on a conversation without shouting over music. The ambiance was very pleasant and the food was great. We would definitely return in the future!
Went on a Sunday with a friend. We were about 30 minutes late for our reservation but were seated without wait or question. Emily was our server, she did an amazing job. We were not ready initially but Emily was patient with us. Ordered the blue berry pancakes and the eggs benedict. Would definitely come back as proximity to aquarium was on point and the menu prices were reasonable.
They were not very accommodating with my parties gluten allergy. their menu does not have much if any options for GF people. someone in our party has a severe allergy to gluten from her celiac disease and when we asked the server what the options were, her response was "we are not good at gluten free" also the menu did not list that the deviled eggs had squid ink in the topinaud and another person in our party had a severe shell fish allergy, if i had not eaten and tasted the seafood, she would have gone into anaphylactic shock... they should try to be more transparent and accommodating with their menu.
Best food, drinks and service we had the whole time we were visiting Boston. Great bartenders, great wait staff, fish and chips were awesome. Thanks guys!
Always love this place!!! Food is consistently good, they have interesting cocktails and the ambiance is so pretty!
Some food was amazing some was downright bad, there was no in between
Food and drinks were good, but service was a bit slow considering the restaurant was mostly empty when we were there. Prices very reasonable for the area.
Met friends for dinner after my partner and I visited the Aquarium. It was...underwhelming. Our server was very attentive and friendly, and the pours on the wine were generous, but the food was pretty meh. The best dishes we had were the tuna tartare, and a pear trifle dessert. But my "black and white linguine with clams" was a gloppy mess (lots of pasta stuck together, the clams were gritty, and there was no sign of the promised guanciale), and the boar in the gnocchi was overcooked and tough. Cocktails were ok. There are better options out there.
We love this place! Always hopping! Great food and service!!!
First time here, you guys are great! We will be back and bring friends! Keep up the great work, see you soon. Savanna was great and very attentive and I am glad I took her advice on the chicken sandwich, it was great!
Went for a night out with professional colleagues. Vibrant bar scene, good energy. very well prepared food, great hamburger, steak frittes.
Our experience would have been fine if our waitress had not acted like she hated us and we were an inconvenience the whole night. From the very beginning she acted like she was in a huge rush every time she came to our table and like she had somewhere else to be. We were sitting in the bar area and it was pretty dead, only about 3 other tables max at any given time. We asked her questions about the menu and she blatantly said she didn't know the answers without offering to go ask someone and find out for us. After our meals we wanted to have another drink but she just brought the check without inquiring if we were interested in dessert or anything else so we just paid and went to the bar. It was only 8:30pm at this point so I don't think we were keeping them open. Every time we interacted with our waitress she made me feel bad for asking for things and generally just for being there. As a former bartender and server myself I can honestly say that this woman should not be working in the service industry.
We just weren't impressed. We didn't expect a gourmet meal, but for a simple fish and chips, and a burger, we weren't impressed. Soggy fries, lobster bisque was water consistancy with one nice sized chunk of lobster that was cold in the middle. The burger was sub standard and burgers aren't hard to do.
It was convenient, but we would have gotten better food if we walked over to Fanuel Hall!
Saturday night dinner
Loveeeee this place. My boyfriend and I go all the time. The dollar oyster deal is awesome and the calamari is the absolute best. Really great restaurant. We probably go once every few weeks. Love it.
The food was very good. The service was painful. It wasn’t even very busy so I’m not sure why service was so inattentive.
Restaurant was quiet on a Sunday evening. My boyfriend and I dined thanks to a GILT voucher that covered an App ($18), we chose 6 oysters and two entrees (he chose the steak frites and I had to Lobster Roll) and two cocktails. The entrees were good, not outstanding but excellent for a small new to us place. Service was excellent.
