State Road Restaurant
Thursday- Saturday: 5 pm- 9 pm
The wonton taco appetizer was excellent! We finally had a chance to try a dessert and the peach crisp was great, not too heavy. This place never disappoints, the food was great, the service was great and the atmosphere was heavenly. We weren't here this time for brunch, but have been and can definitely recommend the brunch, as well as the dinner. You simply have to try this place!!
We have been to this restaurant a few times. The menu has changed since we were last there and I just didn’t think it was a good. Mind you we weren’t especially hungry but needed something. I opted for the soup (a chicken corn tortilla style) and the house salad. The soup was fine, nothing special and we had to ask for the tortilla strips to top it (they were advertised as part of it). The salad has excellent heirloom tomatoes but was pretty small for $8. My husband got the soup and the baby kale salad with salmon added. We were brought a wedge by mistake but he decided to keep it as the salmon was just a piece brought out separately in a dish. The salad was ok...had to get more dressing as there was a lot of iceberg and a drizzle of dressing. No biggie. The worst part was the salmon. Oh it had a foul taste. Not fishy but tasted spoiled. After two bites we sent it back. They were extremely nice about it, the manager came out to find out why it was sent back...very nice guy. They did offer us dessert on the house (wasnt necesssary, but a nice gesture). Overall, I’m just not sure i would go back. I miss the old menu and wasnt impressed with this one.
Great restaurant very convenient before a show at your excellent venue
Love this place! Great views, great service, and excellent food! I had the Salmon entree and it was delightful. The other people in our party had the burger, the Filet, and the MG Dip, and everyone stated they thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Such a great place, overall. I would recommend reservations, depending on the event/reason for visiting, as there aren't a lot of tables inside but there are tables outside (weather permitting). Definitely a "must try" establishment!
Great Service, Great Location, Food was good...the chicken with white corn was too small of a portion... Will definitely go back...just won't get the chicken next time. :)
State Road Tavern at High Star Ranch is one of our favorites. We were there for both Mothers and Fathers Day brunch, and the buffet was wonderful. The kids love it because they can play in the yard, around the water fountains, big trees and even throw the ball around after we eat. The prime rib at brunch is off the charts. The Ribeye we had last night was delicious, as was the kale salad. Even the cornbread and kids cheeseburger was big and flavorful. We'll keep going back, for special occasions or just for dinner with the family.
Please offer vegan and GF options. Most chefs are happy to adapt menu items for these
requirements, but a couple of pre-designed dishes - already created and on the menu - would be make it a perfect 10!
Great venue. 5 diners with great food for all. Excellent service. Will be back soon
So I was so excited to go here. We sat down and I was in heaven. It was beautiful, there was a band playing, the atmosphere is perfection. I want to love this restaurant, but literally we waited two full hours before our food showed up. Refills hardly ever came, no one came to explain what was going on. The restaurant was pretty full and no one had food. We had a one year old with us and luckily she was an angel. We had decided if our food didn’t come by 8:00 we were leaving and about 7:56 the food came. My French dip was really good, but the tacos were cold...after waiting two hours. The waitress finally told us that she’d never seen it so busy. So our experience was pretty bad, but because of atmosphere I’ll give it another shot.
Long views of mountains, pretty grounds, airy inside, nice ambience, but the food is very average. Excellent for drinks in the upstairs tavern and/or meat, such as burgers or ribs, but the other dishes are boring and not well prepared.
Food was good last year but this year it is awful. Everything was cold and tasted bad.
The Sunday brunch buffet is mediocre quality and a bit pricey. The restaurant should go back to serving the old brunch menu, which was excellent.
It’s was a unexpected spread of food. So much to choose from. All delishes! Thanks for a great Fathers Day Brunch! See you next year 😁
3 out of the 6 plates were good and prepared exactly as described on the menu. The 3 that were bad were all the same...the smothered chili verde burrito. Two of the three people that ate it got sick and it wasn't at all what was described in the menu.
We love this place! Great menu/food at reasonable prices. Beautiful place in a beautiful area.
Food was great, not busy at all. A new employee, Heath i believe his name was, very nice gentlemen. Came and introduced himself, bussed our table, spoke to the family. Never had that sort of interaction before with anyone other than the server. We though it was nice. Great experience.
Our server completely ignored our request for Dijon mustard. We asked 2 other servers and they, too, seemed to forget our request, resulting in a wait of 20-25 minutes while my husband's hamburger got colder and colder.
When I ordered Club Soda with lots of ice, lemons and limes, our server delivered a huge plastic glass filled with ice and a bowl of lemons and limes; however, no soda. When I asked for the soda, it came with no ice. I asked for a refill and again, it came with no ice.
Our server attempted to refill my husband's water glass, missed the glass and poured water all over the table. I reached for my napkin, as the server left and didn't return for 10 minutes. So I want about cleaning up the spilled water. My napkin was soaking wet, so when the server finally returned, I asked for a new napkin. It finally arrived at the end of the meal.
Our guest mentioned that her pork carnitas were very dry and stiff.
Not the elegant birthday celebration I had hoped for for our guests. In fact, it was an embarrassment -- and one we won't likely repeat. Ever.
My only disappointment was that you had crabs legs on the buffet. without any utensils to get the meat out of the legs.. When we asked the server he said that there was nothing. My question is then why serve them? The legs could of been pre cracked to enjoy the meat. Other than that I really enjoy traveling to you establishment. I always tell my friends.
We have been a few times, and the Food is always fantastic. Great alternative the Park City food scene.
We eat here all the time. Cam is a sweetheart server, very personable, we love getting her. Food is always great, never have experienced a bad meal.
Our reservations were for Easter Sunday Brunch. Our party was one of the last seatings. The fruit was gone, only a few picked over pieces of melon, pinapple and scattered berries. The prime rib was very picked over as well but the carver did manage to find a couple of slices that were medium rare and they did taste good. The dessert table was very picked over. Did not look appetizing at all. The pies and cakes looked and tasted like mass produced items you find in the grocery store. I don't know if there was real whipped cream out earlier but when we went through, the only cream for the cobbler came from a squirt can. Certainly not the quality one should expect for the price. Diners should have the same quality experience whether they have the first reservation or the last.
I attended the Easter brunch with my family. The food was tasty and fresh. I had downloaded a copy of the menu on my phone to see if it would match what was served. I asked the server if coffee, tea or orange juice came with the buffet. She replied no. I looked at the menu online which stated it did. I asked to speak to the manager who came to my table. I showed her the menu online and she replied “oh I didn’t know they printed menus”. I find that hard to believe you didn’t see your menu for the brunch ahead of time. Everything else that was stated on the menu was on the buffet. The smoked salmon and crab legs were very good. The shrimp was so small you could hardly see then. I would go back but for dinner.
We went there for a birthday dinner. Really enjoyed it! The food was great and so was the service.
St Patrick’s Day
It was the perfect spot for a night away from home. Lucky to have found this gem! Service was good, cocktails were yummy, food was delicious. Dessert wasn’t the best but I think I just made the wrong choice. Definitely will be back.
Beautiful place too bad the food didn’t match up.
Worth the drive from Park City or SLC
Beautiful setting. Elegant open dining room with enormous fireplace and views of the mountains. Two huge TVs for special sporting events. Food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Deserts are homemade and incredible. The tavern located upstairs is a lot of fun with plenty to do.
This is a wonderful spot 1 mile down ther road from main Kamas crossroads. I got the sense the staff was trying very hard to make a good impression. The suisine is very comparable to something you'd find in Park City. Mac and Cheese, burger, cheesesteak sandwich were all 'do overs'. I will return here on a regular basis
We ate here prior to a concert at DeJoria. The food was pretty good, but not outstanding. Although they were shown on the website menu, I was disappointed to see there were no smoked meats during the winter time and no Scottish Salmon. I had to settle for tacos. Our waitress was very nice and helpful, but she was given too many tables to properly oversee. A good place to go prior to an event at DeJoria. You will need reservations if there is an event going on.
I called High Star Ranch instead of the restaurant by mistake but they were very friendly and helped me make a reservation anyway! We were a tad late for our time but when we got there, the table was still held for us. Dinner was wonderful. I always want the server to come back to the table a number of times and she did okay. More would have been better...but that's minor. Great atmosphere!
We went there for an anniversary celebration. The food was good, we had a great staff and we had a blast!
Food and service were both excellent for our party of 7.
We went for the live music but found out that’s only in the Tavern (which you can’t make a reservation for). When we arrived it was standing room only, so we had to eat our food in the restaurant. The restaurant was freezing, even the hostess had a heavy coat on. We had to ask to move our table closer to the fireplace. The food was so so. No one in our party of 6 loved their meal. It was a long drive for what is was. The service was good and friendly. Summertime might be a better option for a cocktail and a view.
We loved the ambiance and had the choice between a table with a outside view or a table by their modern gas fireplace. The food was delicious, hot and served very quickly. The prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend dining here for just about any reason.
Disappointing and way over priced! The food wasn't fresh, and the cornbread was so hard we couldn't even eat it. All 5 of us left disappointed.
I love going to special events and just driving from Salt Lake City for dinner. Great service and a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. I most definitely recommend this location. Amazing views and excellent seating to see the views. Keep up the great work.
Beautiful setting with fabulous food and service. Views are exceptional with options of both indoor and out door dinning. The food is unique from your run of the mill dinning out and the service is always friendly and professional. This is a great choice for your next dinning out experience!
State road offers delicious and imaginative dining in a beautiful setting in the Kamas Valley. The chef does a really nice job building an interesting and varied menu. Food was delicious and service was top-notch.
Excellent hidden gem in Summit County, Utah. Love the setting, food and service. Hard to come by today!!
Disappointed with the smoked brisket and smoked chicken this visit. Both were dry and burnt on the exterior. Fries came out cold. Drove out for the view but found out upon arrival that the restaurant has now been moved to the ground level where there isn't a view of the mountains. Such a bummer!
