State of Grace
Food and service was excellent. Manager was wonderful also, very attentive
Always feel a warm welcome when we arrive and have incredible service and truly amazing dishes
One of our favorite restaurants in the city. At any time. Any occasion. Always delivers
We went for my friend’s birthday and had a great time! The service was excellent and the birthday girl kept saying how awesome the food was. They brought out a sorbet with a candle in it for her. And we got champagne to toast. Overall, an amazing birthday dinner. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Houston.
I did not like the overall experience. The food was ok but the waiter was not attentive at all.
Food was delicious, service was truly outstanding. One of my favorite restaurants in town.
We had the most amazing dinner here with friends. You must try the hush puppies for an appetizer and OMG... THE REDFISH and Duck Carnitas were out of this world...
Noisy, tables too close together you feel like you’re invading others’ space. Cost is higher than value.
This in my opinion is the absolute best dining experience in Houston. Every time we dine they out do themselves. The menu is always updated for the season and the service is above anything else in town. And the wine list is second to none.
Food is always great but the pozole I had today was amazing!
Our server, Megan, made our first visit unforgettable. It was our anniversary and she provided two flutes of complimentary champagne for us. Warm and accommodating, she, along with the inviting atmosphere, gave us a great experience and reason why we will return. Try the seafood tower and the Barber of Seville cocktail! Impressive and sophisticated place.
It was my mother 80th birthday celebration , I have informed restaurant in advance . Still, they give us a terrible table near the kitchen however there were empty table available in the better area
Food was mediocre , it was very noisy and music was too loud .
service was late and people were border rude and with an attitude
This place is not recommended
we had a great dinner! thank you for everything, they followed the requests perfectly!
The Sunday Supper at State of Grace is amazing. The homemade biscuits are a most.
Service was fantastic! Southern hospitality at it’s finest!
I’m from South Louisiana and the food was very close to what I know and love about Louisiana cuisine.
Great service and recommendations
We went for a special occasion with family and friends and State of Grace offered everything we were looking for. Special from start to finish. The food was glorious and so was the service. The cookies they gave us to take home on our way out the door were the perfect finishing touch. We will be back!
We had the duck for 2 and the short rib for 2, and both were actually quite bland. The ribs were described as being marinated in kimchi which I was very excited about, but they hardly had any flavor at all. I wish it had been better.
The food and service were top notch from the moment we stepped in the door until we left. Highly recommend that you experience State of Grace for yourselves. Two thumbs up.
I was unexpectedly stuck in Houston for the night. I always look for the most highly rated restaurants from Open and the web. Ergo, I booked a reservation last minute, which wasn’t an issue. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, my expectations were far exceed.
Grilled oyster awesome Salad awesome will be back thanks
We always leave State of Grace with an even better opinion
It was great last night
We enjoyed the octopus, catfish redfish and greens -they were fabulous
State of Grace is my all time favorite restaurant. The food is beyond outstanding, the atmosphere is beautiful and I will continue to come back! If you haven’t tried the Chef’s table, you’re missing out!
Loved the food!
We always love going here! The food is always good and the services are always very attentive and sweets.
Very welcoming and attentive waitress loved the service and the food was exquisite
The tables and bench are not super comfortable as your feet have to sit on the base. So awkward...otherwise wonderful!
Had greens with everything—blue crab claws, summer melon and speck and ahi tuna—which was unexpected, but great. Tuna was buttery and delicious. Greens had a kick from Serrano peppers. Topped with a bottle of Italian prosseco. Desert was tres leches. It was too sweet to finish and not special. Service was good / friendly. He knew the menu well and told us the favorites which was helpful in making choices. Room was very cold and uncomfortable. We were early (7:00), so was probably trying to cool down before arrivals. Room was also very loud and difficult to hear even directly across the table, but that seems to be the norm these days.
I feel like this restaurant started really strong but has lost its way -- both food- and service-wise. The "eccentric" menu doesn't really have any interesting standouts, and the service was slow and listless. Still a beautiful room, albeit a very loud one.
We had Brunch at State of Grace
I loved the decor and the ambiance. I did not enjoy the seating that was provided. Myself and two of my friends were sat a small round table where they were in the booth portion and I was in a chair that sat in the walkway so it was a bit uncomfortable with all of the through traffic. The food was very okay. I expected the brunch to be better but overall it was okay. Overall I enjoyed the environment but I would not be in a rush to come back.
The ambiance here is really fun and smart-casual. Lots of natural light, which makes it a great brunch spot. The deviled eggs and hush puppies were really excellent! The service was great, Mark was our waiter and he took excellent care of us. Will definitely be back!
My first time visiting Houston and State of Grace did not disappoint! Our server Whitney was nothing short of amazing! She was very personable and she made sure my two friends had a great birthday dinner. I especially loved how the entire staff touched the table, helping with all aspects of our dining experience. The crab hush puppies, roasted oysters and Street corn Agnolotti were among our favorites, although everything was delicious! I will be sure to recommend State of Grace to anyone I know visiting Houston
Our waitress, Catherine, was great! She was knowledgeable, efficient, and personable.
Brought people from Sweden who were about to leave
Amazing wait staff! -Layla was amazing!
Excellent food and service!
