Happy hour the best in the city If you love oysters . Would be nice if they had a wine in happy hour too.. can’t win them all
Excellent!!! Celebrated my husband’s birthday here with SIL and BIl and had such a great time. We made reservations through Open Table and got seated right away. Our server, Carl, was very professional and was attentive to our needs; timing of food arriving onto table, clearing any bread crumbs, filling water or making sure we enjoyed our drinks or food. 4 adults shared the seafood tower and we were stuffed! It was so fresh and all the sauces were tasty. We both shared with our spouses this rib eye that was just the best cut portion. I think it was 8 Oz. But oh it was so good in this olive oil with herb sauce. Got the potatoes o gratin for side dish. Excellent! Perfect portion especially after tackling the tower. Ended the night with cup of coffee and dessert. When we depart, they always gift you this delicious whoop pie! My kids love it when we bring one home for them. Thanks so much to State of Grace! Appreciate good food and awesome servers who clearly have pride in their service and clearly enjoy their work. From the smile at the door to welcome us to the end of the meal, it’s a nice experience! Definitely recommend this place to anyone willing to pay for good food and excellent service!
Fabulous! Will be back. We had oysters, hush puppies, foie gras, steak, fish, pasta and it was all excellent. If you can get that much right you are a winner in my book!
Great brunch, had them add Jalapenos and Bacon to the Cheese Grits, amazing.
Always outstanding service and food, from Matt the General Manager to our host Jade, to the perfect Porterhouse and finishing with berries toffee pudding, all just outstanding. We miss our favorite dish there, the big beef rib, but the Porterhouse is a great addition!
The food was amazing! Portions were almost perfect in my opinion. They due prefer to take your entire order at one time but we were starving so that wasn't a problem for us at all. Waiter was very nice and didn't smother us which I always appreciate.
As always, we had a wonderful experience. State of Grace is one of our favorite restaurants. The service is always excellent, and the food is high quality!
We love State of Grace. The food is always fabulous and service is consistently outstanding!
everything was perfect for a recent birthday dinner. The food was delicious - try the hushpuppies and the oysters are a must! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and kind.
Very nice place to come and enjoy great food! Love this restaurant!
One of my favorites. The menu changes seasonally, the food is excellent and the service attentive. Best oyster program in Houston.
I love this place for both brunch and dinner. The staff is friendly, professional and always ready to fulfill the guests every whim. Try some of the more offbeat dishes, they may be the best things you've ever tasted.
What a special place!! Everything is always outstanding!!!
Excellent choice for great food, customer friendly staff and ambience. Loved it!!!
Valentine’s Day dunch
The service, food, and environment were amazing. At first we were seated at a table too close to other patrons so other options were shown to us and we found a seat by the oyster bar. We had multiple people check in on us and they were very helpful in helping us customizing our meal to make our own breakfast/brunch. Can't wait to have the best griddle cakes / pancakes I've ever had again here!
The staff was very polite and welcoming. The morning cocktails, cinnamon roll, pork eggs benny, and cheese grits were excellent. Would highly recommend you check it out.
This place has great cocktails, oysters, and main plates. Even if you don't normally like oysters, definitely try the roasted oysters. The octopus is also amazing, but you'll want to get a side - I got the broccoli and it was super good too.
It was not the best experience, but willing to give it another try!
Service was a little slower than what I would expect. Perhaps they were a bit short staffed that night. Overall, I look forward to going back.
Amazing staff. Dominick was excellent.
Great staff and great food. Try new dishes you have never tried before - delicious!
My wife and I are food people. We have made it a regular hobby to try a new restaurant every week. Houston has so much to offer and an impressive level of consistent quality. Well our dinner at State of Grace may have been the best experience we've ever had. The food was incredible. We dined with friends and tried as many items options as possible. Each plate was impressive in its own way. The service was beyond perfect. Our server, Dominic (sp?) was friendly, attentive, and possessed an attention to detail rarely seen these days. Overall, it's safe to say my wife and I have a new favorite restaurant in Houston.
My girlfriends and I thoroughly enjoyed our first time at State of Grace. Michael waited on us and was very knowledgeable about the menu and made wonderful recommendations. We started with a signature cocktail and hush puppies. For our entree, we did redfish, scallops and the butter lettuce salad. All outstanding!! Looking ‘gracefully’ forward to revisiting in the near future. ❤️
It was lovely! Amazing food, fun new cocktails, and a great waiter!
Amazing food, and great service
Lovely restaurant with amazing food, and tremendous waitstaff.
Wonderful as always!
It was wonderful to get out and have a dining adventure. The food was amazing.
Great oysters, lobster rolls, and crab balls!
My 1st time dining at State Of Grace left a great impression. Staff was professional, our Waiter Paul was pracatically telepathic to our needs. Reccomended a cocktail that I loved (southside xtra chilled) Food was superb. We ordered Campechana, Tuna, and Diver scallops. Looking forward to visiting this spring to try their seasonal menu.
DIVER SCALLOPS WERE AMAZING!!
Had a quick Sunday dinner out. Surprised they had the full menu available since it’s usually Sunday Supper. The 2 of us shared hush puppies (so good!), beet salad, campechana, Red fish on the 1/2 shell. Everything was fantastic. Service was very attentive but not overbearing. Love the ginger snap creme pie cookies they give you when you leave.
I’ve enjoyed dinning here on several occasions, 1st time for brunch , it was very tasty as my 7 yr old stated. Food was great I let him try some new things. Ambiance was very nice ! Service was Superb. Colby was our server , very accommodating! Well be back !
Excellent dining for any occasion. Every dish was amazing and the cocktails complimented each meal very well.
Wonderful location and service! delicious oysters unlikely I choose a dish to spicy for my taste...
Always a treat!
Th food was delicious. We got the Hushpuppies and Roasted Oysters for our appetizer and loved both. For dinner we had the Porterhouse steak with Roasted Oak Broccoli and Root Vegetable Gratin also delicious. They make really good drinks too. I loved the Southside Antique and they make a really good Old Fashioned and Buffalo Speedster. Cant wait to go back for Brunch.
This was our second trip. The first, we experienced the seafood entrees and this trip we enjoyed the steak entrees. The only reason I gave 5 stars is it didn't ask for 6. The food is incredibly good. The sides are so tasty and compliment the dishes so well. This is going to be our favorite "go to" for fine dining. PS: the roasted oysters are a must!
Excellent but needs some entrees in the $20-$35 range beyond chicken.
