The service was great, but the food was terrible. We ordered club sandwiches and they were drenched in butter. Also, the meat was beyond fatty.

Our first visit and we were pleased. Food was very good. I had the paella and my husband had the shrimp. We split the three mini pies. So much food.

It was our first visit as we just moved to Chatt. We got a sampling of many items and it was all delicious. We were only at the appetizers and already knew we would be back again and again. Ruben, our server, was great. We never had to wait for him to check on us and how we were doing. HIGHLY recommend the fried bologna sandwich....seriously...it’s delicious!!

This was our first visit to State of Confusion, and we will certainly return. As we are very selective of our venue when dining out during this pandemic, that was the main reason we selected this restaurant when our daughter from Atlanta visited. We were seated in a large airy covered outside dining area. We will, however return to State of Confusion because our whole experience was wonderful. Our shared appetizers were both great--the Peruvian guacamole was seasoned so well, and the fried calamari was beautifully breaded. My husband and I shared a seafood paella, which was delicious. We had been warned that it was spicy, but we certainly did not feel that the spice was excessive. I would have been happy if the rice was crispy on the bottom, which is typical of paella. We shared the 3 mini desserts and all loved the Snickers dessert best. Our server was professional and delightful. Can't wait to return.

Outstanding food! I had the Mexican Ceviche, and sampled two other dishes from friends' plates - Crispy Pan Seared Chicken and Low Country Shrimp & Grits. The flavor was superb on all 3!

We also very much appreciated the COVID-19 precautions taken by the wait staff.
Music was slightly louder than we'd have liked, but didn't really hamper conversation.
We ate outdoors, and the overhead fans kept us comfortable on a very hot and humid day.

Fun restaurant with a relaxed and welcoming vibe. The buttered steak was delicious and so was the ceviche. Margaritas were decent, but overall would recommend. Patio was very pleasant on a nice evening.

The drinks were good and the prices were good. I went during brunch while there was a limited menu so I cannot judge the food. The atmosphere was great and there is a dog park across the street so you can look over and see happy dogs while you eat.

Peruvian guacamole was good but the best part of the meal was the Peruvian Ceviche. Wow. The flavors melded perfectly with the fish. Fell in love with that dish and had to bring friends two days later to try the sample of Ceviche. I’m sad we didn’t try this restaurant before. We will be back!

This is one of our fave spots in ‘Nooga. Service is always great, and the food is incredible. Everything on the menu is great. If you haven’t stopped in yet, you’re missing out!

My son and his wife were here from Memphis. We wanted to brag on Chattanooga restaurants and chose one of our favorites. I had the paella. The risotto was perfect and the heat level great. My wife liked the shrimp Po Boy. My son loved the Mexican Ceviche, and his wife, a vegetarian, enjoyed the stuffed sweet potato. The Calamari is the best we’d ever eaten.

Great location and AMAZING food. Megan was awesome, gave great food and drink suggestions. We were there a little early due to some other obligations but it worked out well because it was packed by the time we left. Both indoor and outdoor seating (with a fire going for a cool February night). Overall a 5 star experience!

Such a cool atmosphere. Food was delicious. We had the gucamole and fried beef tacos for our appetizers. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the skirt steak chimi. We will definitely be going back next time we are in town.

We made reservations for four. They sat us within five minutes of the reservation time. Food was great! Good prices and presentation. Service was good. Very loud atmosphere. It was hard to have a conversation.

Our server was very attentive! He checked on us, but gave us space as well. He answered all questions, as it was our first time at the restaurant. The chicken fried chicken was so amazing, and I topped it off with mimosas! We will be back!

My husband and I dropped in for Saturday brunch while visiting town. He ordered a burger, and I ordered shrimp and grits. Both were excellent. They also had great drink specials. We will definitely visit again.
