   I love the decor in the old mill. The food was delicious and well prepared. Service was friendly and appropriately attentive. One of our party is gluten free and the server helped her find dishes she could eat safely.

   We had a great time at State, the food was amazingly good and service very friendly. The olive oil cake was incredible

   Four of us dined on a Tuesday night when Vietnamese dishes are on the menu. The spring rolls and mixed slaw were a big hit. Two others got the rotisserie chicken and sizzling crepe with shrimp which they enjoyed although all dishes lacked salt and none was offered. I got the shaking beef. The beef was tough and two of the pieces were inedible. They do not offer alcoholic drinks so no wine with dinner. Service was great.

   Great menu with dietary considerations clearly marked. No need to go through weighty deliberations or grill the staff on how the food would be prepared. Everyone loved their meal!

   Very good food in presentation and preparation. Our server was new and still getting her feet but was very sweet and attentive.

   Late review, but we had an absolutely wonderful experience on Valentine's Day. We sat at the bar which looks into a semi-open kitchen (I enjoy being able to see). They offered a complimentary glass of wine and then we went nextdoor to buy cocktail to bring back for dinner. It's a unique set up, but the drinks were well worth a few steps to go get. Delicious. The food was also phenomenal. I'm a vegetarian and there were plenty of solid options for me. The prices for the quality of food and portion sizes were incredibly affordable. Our server was new to being on the floor (former host) and absolutely killed it for her first night being Vday! She was very sweet and attentive. Great experience. We've been back since and will be back again.

   Service is excellent, ambience is comfortable but the food needs a little fine tuning. I am confident the team will adjust as they go. Diners beware, no liquor license at this time. They surrounding businesses more than made up but walking out to get a cocktail may be frowned upon by some. We found it charming…we will try breakfast next time.

    The complex flavors and inventive offerings of Chefs Tu Le and Aaron Willis are why we love State. There's always a surprise on the menu (depending on the night of the week you go). There's no other restaurant like it in this area. And open on Mondays!
