I love State Fare and go as often as possible
Mother’s Day was amazing food was AMAZING and Drinks were awesome
Good food, the music was pretty loud though and it wasn’t anything memorable. If I’m in the area again I wouldn’t mind coming back but wouldn’t drive an hour from the Woodlands again for it.
We had a great time there today celebrating Mother's Day. Service was excellent, food was good and atmosphere was awesome
Great good. Huge portions. We loved that we can share plates. Wonderful time with family
The staff was very nice and attentive. I had a table in the patio. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining on me and one of the managers pulled an outdoor umbrella to cover me. I wasn’t going to ask for shade and was very appreciative that they did that.
I ordered medium rare for my steak on my salad. It arrived medium well. My waitress sent it back and brought a new steak cooked perfectly. It was very delicious.
All and all, a wonderful lunch with great staff.
Service was AMAZING! Food was OUTSTANDING! Love the option to sit inside OR outside. WILL be back!! :)
I want to love state fare, but I just can't. It's a good location to meet friends who live in different parts of the city, so I'll probably be back, but I just don't love it. Some of the food is great (hello hush puppies and fried green tomatoes) and some could really be improved (i.e. fries were just okay and pimento cheese was a little gloppy for my taste). The biggest negative is the service. I'm not a regular by any means, but every time I've been, service is slower than a snail. I've been maybe 5 times with parties of two, 4 and 8. Every time, so slow.
We sat on the patio and only had appetizers, so I can't really speak to the entire menu. But what we did have was tasty. Loved the "Frozen drink flight" Server was great too. Nice patio area
great place for lunch but music was almost too loud to talk
The absolute worst service. Took forty minutes to get a glass of wine. They said they had a big party.... well, hire more people.
Food was just okay.
Waitress is in the wrong business.
I brought a first-time out of town friend for what I hoped would have been a fun happy hour to top off the end of her visit to Houston. First, my mistake was, I didn't know that happy hour ends at 6p.m.--I didn't check. However, my reservation was for 6p.m.
We arrived right before 6, were seated right away, and given the cocktails menu. When asked for the happy hour menu, the waitress was gracious and brought it to us and explained happy hour ended at 6. Although we were there and seated just before 6, she was very courteous and polite, and offered to see what she could do to get our food choices in; it was 6:05p.m. by then, and of course, nothing. That wasn't her fault.
This was very disappointing to my guest and I as I had raved about my State Fare experience on previous visits, so, the hype was there!
My question is, why is there no flexibility even when guests arrive prior to 6 and aren't visited at the table in time to ensure we can partake in the happy hour experience? We were so disappointed. It was supposed to be happy hour! It was only five minutes too late when our order was taken...was it our fault?
The manager never visited our table knowing our issue to even say "I'm sorry, but..." When we thought he was coming over to visit, he turned and went the other way.... Wow! Quite frankly, my observation of him with guests in a different party wasn't that great--actually, he was kind of dry. You don't have to be "over bubbly" but, a little energy is good.
The server/waitress could not have been more perfect. Her superior service excellence and courtesy throughout our visit is to be commended. I believe her name began with a "T". She deserves a "Gold Star" award!
So much for making an impression!
Waiting for food over 40 minutes, food was just ok nothing special, very noisy.
The menu was incorrect it said 6+ with added gratuity. This can be very misleading. We only had have people in our party, and the manger said it was a misprint and the new menus have came out yet. Overall it was a great experience. I feel like the company should think about moving into reservation only. Because one time I came
It was a two hour wait without a reservation.
So happy we had reservations! Definitely recommend booking ahead!
State Fare is great, but it is very loud. If you want to have intimate convos, maybe try dinner? But the brunch is very live and the food is great!
Food was delicious and plentiful. I had the ham and cheese omelet and hash browns. I added mushrooms, spinach and bell peppers. The hash browns were seasoned perfectly and the frozen flight was delicious.
The restaurant is very loud and makes it very difficult to have conversations with people at the table. Something needs to be done to tone down the noise levels.
Good service. Made an rsvp and initially was seated inside, but when asked to sit outside, they were accommodating, even though there were people waiting to be seated! Server was great and patient, even though he was working the entire patio (probably eight or so tables).
We always have a great time at State Fare. This has become one of our favorite places in Houston.
We got a lovely seat outside by the fountain. Shaded and a nice breeze made the atmosphere really special, as it was my first time seeing my parents in a year. The beet arugula salad was amazing and the burger was good. The only downside was the noise from the freeway and the grilled cheese sandwich.
The food and service are always exceptional. It's a beautiful restaurant as well.
Sweet! Great place!
The food was very good (very big portions so consider sharing), the service was AMAZING, and the restaurant overall was very nice & cute w/o being too formal. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend.
Fried chicken was very good everything else we tried was good but not memorable.
It was a midweek date without the kids!
The waiter was very nice , the food was great and the ambiance was the best part. I did tip but they sent me my friends receipt as mine
Food was great. Loved the flight of drinks. I will be back!
The food and service were great. We were seated in a small room and it was very crowded and the music was to loud. We had reservations for 3 and still had to wait over 30 minutes for our table. They seated us at a table for 6. With the noise level and distance in seating it was very difficult to talk without screaming. Next time I will request main dinning room only.
Food and Service was Great! Big portions, worth the money!
Love going there it’s my fav brunch spot !
The food at State Fare is so good. Every time I go the dish I try never fails and there mimosas are the bomb but I will warn you, you will feel like you need to be wheeled out after you finish your meal and drink.
Great place to eat. I really enjoyed my flight and chicken fried steak.
Good food, great service, kinda pricey and loud!
So yummy! Staff was nice, our serve was really good. The food was amazing! definitely will come back.
Food was not bursting with flavor. Drinks not strong enough.
Great big flavored food here! They get busy, so the service and wait time in the kitchen can drag a bit.
The service made the night. Our server, Bianca, was very attentive and made some great food and drink recommendations. Food was tasty and portion sizes were good too. This was our first visit, but we will definitely go again.
Food was very good and service was great!!!
I have been here several times, service was not up to prior service levels. Food took too long to be delivered, waiter was not attentive. Blamed the kitchen for being backed up.
