Had a great business lunch at State Fare. It's always on my short list to meet clients at.
Wayne was an excellent server who made our experience great. He made sure to answer all our questions thoroughly and we all ended up with such delicious items that arrived in a very timely manner. Would come back.
Good food, good service, good selection of beers and good pricing.
All comfort food with an upscale twist. Great food.
Simply put, this trendy Hot spot is the bomb! The food is absolutely wonderful, the portions are exceptional! The service was good. You gotta try frozen cocktail flight. Highly recommend.
We always have a pleasant experience at Stare Fare and the food is fabulous!
Everything was wonderful! The service was great and everyone was friendly and informative. Both the food and drinks were amazing. I had the frozen flight and split the mimosa flight with a friend and every drink was strong and tasty, just how we like them.
Food Was Wonderful
Waiter Was Great
Environment Was Fantastic
Had a great business lunch at State Fare. Always an excellent choice for casual work lunches.
Southern comfort food, with above average taste. Great location, close in parking, excellent service, reasonable prices. What more could a guy ask for?
Food was superb and wait staff all over it. Perfect for us....
This was our first time visiting State Fare & I promise it won’t be our last. The service Jeff provided was impeccable, the food was delicious and the drinks were amazing. Special thanks to our server Jeff for his patience and expertise all of his suggestions were delightful.
A bit underwhelming this time. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer, which were not as golden brown and not as tasty as we would of liked. The fried chicken entree was presented as “above average” on the spice scale.....wowzers. I’d hate to experience their version of straight up spicy. We couldn’t even eat it and I can typically handle pretty spicy. Other than feeling like I was in a rap video with our waiter and his use of the word, “yo” all the time, he was reasonably efficient. W’d been one other time at night for dessert and I find I much prefer the ambience when the house lights are on. With the shutters on full tilt it was pretty dark and gloomy in the main dining room around 6:30pm. So far their dessert would be my go to if I ever returned.
Great food, fun vibe!
Very enjoyable dining experience. Different take on comfort foods that we enjoy. Great drink selection.
Great brunch as usual!
All good. No problems
Food was a little slow getting to the table, but the service was excellent. We were celebrating our anniversary and the manager was nice enough to give us two free desserts. Bravo!
Frozen Flight is a must-have and tremendous value at $12. The season there is a Lavender Lemonade on the Flight and it is spectacular!!
I’ve been to State Fare for brunch with my husband and 2 kids under age of 4. Kids brunch menu is great, and the brunch meals we ordered were delicious. I returned to give the lunch a try, expecting similar results, but was disappointed. I ordered the bowl of gumbo and corn bread. The gumbo was WAY over cooked and the corn bread (served as an appetizer in a skillet) was raw in the center. Luckily the hush puppies and white queso appetizers were good, so I was ok not eating my main dish. We also ordered the carrot cake. While pretty tasty, the waiter told us their desserts are brought in and not made in house. Definitely didn’t taste fresh. I’ll only be visiting again for brunch.
Always a fun atmosphere and good food that you don’t tell your Doctor about...
One of my favorite family places to eat.
Delicious dinners. Chicken fried steak was perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. I had a salad with grilled salmon - the salmon was yummy - perfectly cooked with a bit of salty crisp on top. Don’t miss the dill dip and bar-b-que potato chips!!!
It was extremely loud, everything seemed to echo in the dinning room. It was also due to a large group of people using profanities and very loud voices like they were in a bar! There was a family next to us and the father was not happy-no one did anything about it!
The food was mediocre and overpriced. $24 for fried chicken?! It was bland and I was told it had a spicy sauce on it....not spicy at all! The main courses also came out way too quick, we were not even halfway through our appetizer!
The service was spotty, as there seemed to be 2-3 people serving us. Our dirty plates sat in front of us for way too long.
All in all, I would not go back. There is better Southern food elsewhere.
This is our second time at this establishment as we love the ambiance and wanted to try more of their brunch selection. This seems to be a popular brunch spot, so reservations are helpful! If you can only have one cocktail, and like frozen drinks - I highly recommend the Lavender Lemonade. It is very refreshing, especially on a hot day. My spouse & I shared an avocado toast as an appetizer while waiting on the rest of our party, and were surprised (and pleased) at the generous portion that it easily held us over. When it got down to ordering - the crab cake Benedict was extremely satisfying. We look forward to coming back to try more items!
Nice brunch menu and you cannot go wrong with $20 carafe mimosas. You get the bottle of bubbles and your choice of juice.
We ordered the Big Boy Burger and the Crab Cakes. Both were delicious. The server was really nice, but he was obviously busy so service was kind of slow and he messed up on our order. We didn't say anything to him about it and just ate what was served, which was all yummy, so no big deal.
Good beer selection and very cool decor. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed it.
Great value. Fast service. Server knew details to recipe as we had allergies at the table. When she was unaware she would go straight to the chef. Family was out of town and loved all the options and drinks as well
Our waiter Michael was wonderful. There were 6 of us with very different likes, and everyone’s food was exceptional. From the fried fish to veggie burger to pickle dip. Outstanding that everyone could agree how good it was.
Came here for brunch with a friend. My experience can be described as meh 🤷♀️. Very “instagrammable” - I imagine that’s the main appeal of this place. Pricey for what is offered. Nothing to write home about.
I've been here 3 times now, twice for brunch once for dinner and everything I've had is amazing
I had high hopes for this place, but after a few bites it fell way short of my expectations. I ordered the chicken fried steak and afterwards I felt like it was a complete waste of money at 24 dollars. It’s a 15 dollar plate at most and with the complete lack of flavor in the gravy and mashed potatoes that’s even pushing it. The saving grace for the green beans was the bacon mixed in. I normally don’t write reviews either way, but the only reason this place gets the attention it does it because of its location in Memorial city. I could go on, but I’d skip this place.
Great food great service. Great cocktails. We had the big hamburger, pasta, guacamole and the salad with crispy fried chicken. All were amazing. The salad was so huge I took a lot home and the next day the chicken was still crispy. I am from California and was visiting my niece and nephew now they love the restaurant too and they will definitely be back.
I love State Fare for brunch, I did not enjoy it for dinner. The menu options for dinner is not as large. The salad I chose was good but I settled because the options were slim.
Excellent as usual. Loved the quail.
We brought our friends who had never been before. We had an amazing meal and they absolutely loved the setting. I highly suggest the salmon. It was so tasty and cooked exactly as I asked.
We had great service, meal, drinks and fun! Would totally do that again with or without friends.
So delicious! Will be back soon to have a little bit of everything from the menu! lol
