I gave this restaurant an enthusiastic endorsement even though I couldn't eat there due to the pandemic. I am sure it would have been just as great an experience as it always has been. I look forward to seeing this wonderful place up and running in the near future.

State Bird lived up to the hype! We got the dumplings, pork belly, jerk squid, garlic noodles, and hedgehog mushroom toast. I absolutely loved the dumplings, and the pork belly was bomb (as expected)!

We had yet another spectacular dinner at State Bird. The fried and pickled cauliflower dish was absolutely delicious, the wine was incredible, and the service was, as always, top notch.

So hard to get a reservation for just decent food. Not sure I would come back just because of the reservation process to get a decent eating time.

Unexpected dim sum in a California style.

Not sure I would come back, but I did really like the Progress a lot.

Food has gone down hill since last time I was there. All seemed yo be flavored the same way with a lot of spice and Similar sauce. Idea of small plates still fun but food not as good as in the past.

This place is amazing. It is not a cheep night out but well worth it for a special occasion. Our vegetarian friend from London said it might be the best meal she has ever had.

They were so nice and fun about my friends birthday and gave us a wonderful spot to sit for the whole experience. All the staff were kind and helpful. We had a ton of fun and ate a whole bunch. Portion sizes are interesting for the amount you have to pay; but you are at a fancy place so it should be expected, I guess. Other than that, wine list was amazing and ambiance was perfect for our occasion!

Amazing!! We only ordered a couple things off the menu and I think that was the right move. Everything that came around on trays and carts was fantastic and allowed us to taste a huge variety of flavors. Can’t wait for our next trip back!

Of the four of us only two of us liked it. I was one that liked it. It was pretty costly for such small plates of food. If you like interesting food the chips and trout dip was very good as was the brusselsprouts and the cauliflower. The steak was very pricey for eight small slices.

Eating here is a wonderful adventure and experience. The food is inventive and delicious and the dim sum style of service allows for all culinary tastes to match up with perfect dishes! They are wonderful also in dealing with food allergies: ready to give a menu marked up with all dishes that should be avoided and those that could be altered to meet the needs of the diner. Extraordinary, really!

This was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Amazing, creative, delicious food. Wide variety of very interesting dishes. Extremely helpful staff. Not cheap but a good deal when you consider what a top-notch experience this is.

A wonderful experience. Fun, varied fare brought round on carts and trays. Also, as a special note, our party had an allergy and the staff marked up a menu specifically for us, noting which dishes did or did not contain the allergen, and which could be modified to remove it. We were very well cared for!

A unique dining experience with dim sum-style food service (small plates, passed), we loved our meal at State Bird Provisions. There is also an a la carte menu. Great food, great service, will definitely go back.

It takes about 6-8 weeks to get a 5:30pm reservation slot for dinner. We were there at 5:30 sharp and there were 2 lines already waiting to get in. One line with and another line without reservations. We got to our table shortly after 5:30 and didn't have to wait. Here are some of the dishes we ordered: hog island sweetwater oysters with kohlrabi kraut & sesame, geoduck sashimi, pork belly & citrus salad, sourdough sauerkraut pecorino & ricotta pancakes, red trout with toasted hazelnut mandarin-garum vinaigrette, green apple fennel granita ‘cheesecake’ mousse olive oil gelée & mandarin orange, and carrot cake ‘ice cream’ sandwich cinnamon macaron brown butter carrot caramel toasted pecans & ginger. You can have half orders on the desserts, but we chose to have full orders. If you enjoy a sweet dessert, I'd recommend the carrot cake ice cream sandwiches. The granita was refreshing and less sweet, but lacked substance as it was mostly shaved ice. As for the entrees, we enjoyed most of what we ordered. The pork belly stood out and if they had come around again, we would have ordered another. The only thing I didn't like was that everything was fried or acidic or fried and acidic. I started having heartburn and drank nearly two whole carafes of water. Even after dinner, I needed something to counteract the burning sensation. This is not a usual thing for me.
