Should be on everyone’s bucket list. Every dish was next favorite. Once the Dim Sum kart arrived it just kept coming with amazing dishes. Worth every penny. Don’t pass on the trout dip or the pork ban. Thank you Chef.

If you’re a party of two, be prepared to sit very, very close to the table next to you because they’ll seat two parties of two at a table meant for four people. We felt like we had to listen to the conversation of the party next to us all night and had to yell to hear each other. The food was extremely salty for my taste and we could not finish 4 of the 5 dishes we had. We had the cucumbers, fish sticks, oysters, donabe, and steamed egg tofu. The cucumber dish was the only dish I enjoyed. The service was fine, but I would not come back again.

Came here for my husbands birthday. Got a counter spot right where to food was being made. So fun to watch every thing being prepared. Food was delicious, there are so many options! Staff regularly checked in, kept the water carafe full. Highly recommend. And didn’t break the bank, great value.

Creative and inventive plates, loved the tapas concept and really gives you a great variety. Better for groups for sure. Only negative I had was that I was asked to leave due to a new reservation coming in just 10 mins before my 2 hour window.

Great selection of delicious small plates combined with some signature dishes all shared by the table. Be selective as the number of small plates can add up quickly! Overall a great experience, but probably something we'll only do every few years.

My experience at this restaurant was really lovely. The server was super accommodating with our last minute reservation time change and fit us in when It was more convenient for us. The food was incredible, every course was delicious. I will be back!

The food was good. The service was kind of chaotic because you order some things and some things come around on a cart or tray. I feel like it was expensive for what you got. Fun experience but don’t know if could necessarily go back.

Dim sum style of serving appetizers is novel, and the dishes were not bad overall. I thought the potato chips and dip was the best of the bunch. Main course items were not particularly tasty or interesting. Wagyu slices on top of a toast was particularly disappointing. Overall too expensive for the quality.

Food is great. Really creative and dim sum Style is fun (even at dinner). We had to flag someone down to order wine. We wanted to wait to order menu items until we had seen how much of the passed items we wanted. Our server tried to pressure us into ordering menu items before we were ready. I ignored that and waited Which was the better strategy since we probably would have over ordered otherwise. They should give a list of the dim sum being passed if they want you to order menu items More quickly.

Great experience, I love the small plates concept so everyone could try a little of everything. The state bird came out hot, moist and perfectly crunchy. We also had some sort of clam main dish that was so flavorful. It’s great for a special occasion, it’s too bad we didn’t save room for dessert.

It's rare to see a restaurant hitting five stars on their food, service, and value for the money but somehow State Bird Provisions has pulled it off. Run, don't walk to this San Francisco gem. Highly recommend reservations.

The food was good and interesting, but frankly, it wasn't the best culinary experience for the price. Service is amazing, but noise levels were very high - granted, we did go on a weekend. Overall, not the most allergy-friendly menu and it was fun for the one time, but I wouldn't go again. Does not live up to the hype as much.

Overhyped. Flavors were so bland. Nothing stood out. Looking at value, it’s pretty pricey. Been to many Michelin restaurants and don’t understand why this received the recognition. Not worth it and most likely won’t be back.

The food, the flavors, the wines, the service. Everything complemented each other. The open kitchen was harmonius. I even liked the art in the bathroom. Sadly, my choices are limited since I can't eat dairy. However, that didn't stop me from eating deliciously crafted food. They brought me a menu marked with items that were dairy free, items that could be modified and items that were a complete no. I look forward to going back soon.

Dinner at State Bird began with an unpleasant host who not only did not apologize for our table not being ready on time but was so off putting we seriously considered going elsewhere for dinner. There were seriously delicious moments in the meal but some real misses as well. The noise level and choice of music really were the worst parts - completely spoiled the experience.
