It was our first visit and we wanted to treat a visiting family member. The food was all above expectations and the overall experience memorable. We’ll be back!
This was a birthday dinner. We were a party of five. We got to the restaurant at 6:20 for a 6:30 reservation. Even though our table was ready and there were few other tables that were full, we were told in no uncertain terms that our table would be available at 6:30 and not a moment sooner. Not very welcoming in my view. The hostess then proceeded to carry on a conversation with a coworker for the next ten minutes while we stood there waiting.
Once we were seated our server came over. There was no greeting or acknowledgement of the special occasion. She sullenly took our drink order and then disappeared. It took 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Ok, the bar was busy with the after work crowd, but being left to wait after being already left to wait was irritating. The bottom line was that our server was also not welcoming either. The bus person however was very friendly and provided good assistance.
The GOOD news was the food. The Bone Marrow was a big hit. The local oysters were fantastic. The New York and the Rib Eye were perfectly cooked. The Cream Spinach was wonderful as were the deserts. Even though the bill was over $550 the food itself was worth it. It’s unfortunate the service wasn’t.
Great food and service, enjoyed starters as well as steak, will come back!!
My husband and I went to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. We couldn’t have been happier with the food or service.
Thank you for making this a most memorable experience ✨
Food and service good, but steak temp not as ordered, potatoes brought out cold and spinach too salty to eat. Halibut was amazing!!!
One of us ordered and paid for a prime New York steak but we felt it was not prime quality. It had a lot of gristle and it was very chewy.
The rest of our orders were excellent and we loved Kelsey our waitress.
Little bit of a rough start as they had a huge rush of people in the bar and it too quite awhile to get that first badly needed cocktail!
Then it was great. We are in the bar area by choice and the space is great. Old school feel and lively on Friday night.
The food was tasty and we had a good time - I would go back for sure.
We advised, three times, to the maitre d’ and service staff that we had theatre tickets for a 7:30 pm showtime. We were assured that the server would be aware and accommodate us. Our reservation was at 6:15, we promptly ordered our dinner with cocktails and starters. Drinks and starters came, but no dinner. It was 7:15 and we told our server to cancel dinner and hand us the bill for what we had consumed earlier. Server had a shocking look on his face. After paying our bill, and while we were leaving the restaurant, the food came at 7:15 pm. Fortunate for us that the evening venue was within a two block walking distance. Shall we come back to Stark’s? Very probably NOT!
50th bday great food and service
Bar area was very crowded/noisy and it was difficult to order a drink. Not elegant for a 4 star restaurant. Drink list is excellent and drinks were very good. Dining room was nice and it was quiet. Dining staff were very friendly and attentive. Ordered calamari for appetizer. Delicious! For main, ordered filet and bone in ribeye. Wife liked the filet. Bone in ribeye had excellent flavor but too much fat. We have eaten at Jeff Ruby's in Cinci multiple times. Similar food choices (prime beef) and drinks. Service, atmosphere, and food are better than Stark's in our opinion.
The rib-eye is exceptional! Our server’s suggestions for wine, sides etc were on point. Nice high-end steakhouse ambience. Bar area is small and crowded. Hand-cratered cocktails were great. The batched “happy hour cocktails”... not so much! You will not be disappointed if you’re in the mood for a nice steak dinner!
Have been here quite regularly, never left hungry meals always good. The help is very attentive and pleasant.
We thoroughly enjoyed our last evening in wine country dining at Starks. We experienced exceptional service and delicious food; would definitely return.
The food is amazing, and the service is next level. The restaurant was packed, yet the noise level was low and the server was still attentive.
Think our waitress had too many tables. She was running around & although she was good, we had to flag her down several times.
All of our food and drinks were wonderful!! Wish I could say the same thing about the service.
Celebrating a pretty big anniversary and arrived early for our reservation so we had a drink in the bar. Pretty crowded so three of us sat at the bar while our husbands stood behind us. Bartender barely acknowledged us just kind of what do ya want here ya go attitude, he did make really good drinks.
Table service started our good but once we got our appitizers it took well over an hour to get our main course. We brought two bottles of wine and paid the corkage but after the first glass poured the second bottle ourselves. All in all the food and company made it a good evening but left feeling disappointed in the service.
Great waiter and amazing good!!!
It was our anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed with our dining experience. Kudos for the Gluten Free Menu which was gave me lots of food options without having to “think” on what I could eat. Food took a little longer to come out but it was busy with large parties ahead of us. Food arrived beautifully plated and hot. My only disappointment was that there was no dessert available for me to enjoy that was gluten & dairy free. Highly recommend Stark’s for any occasion whether for Happy Hour or dinner.
Food was amazing
Another great Stark's experience! As always the food, staff and management were Top Notch!
everything we ordered was delicious! fun place, I'd recommend to anyone.
The food and service were excellent! A shout out to Esther for her attentiveness.
Service was amazing. Steaks are great and bread so spectacular!
My Fiancé and I went to celebrate his birthday. This place was great and the food was delicious! I will definitely go back.
Very nice server. Lovely dining room. Great food!
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Our waiter acknowledged that with a glass of champagne. That was very nice. All the food was outside and standing except for the egg on the warm spinach salad was overcooked. There’s not much you could do about the noise level there because there’s a wood flooring and everything echoes. All in all a very pleasant experience.
We normally love Starks. We had an 8:30 reservation, and we arrived on time. We ended up with 1 unexpected extra guest, and when I asked the hostess if they could accommodate the additional person she said "no". I convinced her that we could squeeze in the extra person. This was really not a problem. We fit in the booth just fine!
Our table was not ready at 8:30 because the current party had not left. This sometimes happens and would have been fine for a short time, but we were not actually seated until after 9:30! It was 11 pm when we finally finished our meal. Not the ideal evening.
Best food ever
Everything was great had a great night
Awesome! Great food, cool atmosphere, staff was very nice and knowledgeable. We will go back when in town.
We really enjoyed the excellent presentations for everything we ordered. Arrive early if you want prime rib that sells out quickly each night. Aged and regular steaks were great. Lovely decanter service and glasses for red wine. Overall, a classic steak house experience.
Delicious dinner but very noisy which detracted from experience
Stark’s was highly recommended by several colleagues. We were told the portions were very large and not to order too much because we wouldn’t finish it. My husband had shrimp cocktail which he said was good. We both had a Caesar salad. He had a steak (That was not unusually large) that he ordered medium well and it was very pink. He didn’t send it back because he was hungry! I had the Butterfish (never had before) that was in a very rich sauce that was overwhelming. We ordered onion rings (see note about the portions) and there were 4 on the plate. We ordered the cherry cheesecake which was good but the cherries all had pits which was a surprise. Won’t return.
Unfortunately for you, we had a similar dinner in Boulder, Co. two weeks before we ate at Starks. The prices were about the same. I thought the meat was equal but my husband said his was mostly fat As for the Caesar salad--what can I say? It was so good there that we ordered it at Starks and were keenly disappointed. Your dessert? The cupcake (advertised as chocolate cake tasted stale.
Sorry to write such a review but you did ask. I wouldn't have written this otherwise.
Excellent service. Food was very good. I had the tuna steak and really enjoyed it. My wife had the surf and turf. Steak was cooked perfectly. Great value for the quality of food. Very loud, so maybe not the best place for a romantic date night, but otherwise nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
It was fantastic. Stark's never disappoints!
We were visiting our daughter and had a wonderful evening at Stark’s. Great food, good ambiance — we will go back again!
Food and server were terrific .
Hostess could use some coaching on personality
Everything was great! Steak was cooked perfectly and the wine selection is on point. Even the cheaper wine on the menu is amazing.
