Food was hot, well presented. Nice choices. Offer was good. Deserts were different from the usual pub ones. Really enjoyable.

Fabulous meal couldn't fault. Service was poor. Waited in the lounge area for nearly 10 mins at the bar then went in to bar area to look for someone to serve us. Unsure if it was because they were busy in bar or not enough staff serving. We had booked a table prior to arrival. When main course was finished waitress informed us that a big group of people would be arriving and we were sat on one of their tables so did we want anything else. With that, we decided to abandon coffee and left.

Dear Mary, I do apologize that you did not like the gammon and found it overcooked. It is one of our most popular dishes and we rarely have any issue with this meat. I have checked with the front of house staff and the chef working that evening and show no record of a lady raising an issue with a gammon dish on Monday. If you can remember your table number this would be helpful. Also, can you confirm which member of staff you raised the issue with (male/female approx. age) so we can investigate further? Normally, when an issue is raised with a meal we will either replace the meal or agree an amicable solution so I would like to investigate this fully. Good value for money for small lunches. Even got given an anniversary card which was a very nice gesture.

The food was good value for money on their midweek special £14.49 for two. However do be prepared for a long long wait. You might also request a table away from the toilets. We had to abandon desert as the wait was ridiculous. There was a new chef so some allowances could be made. The lonbg wait and the smell from the toilet when the men went i and out was not a pleasant evening. The two girls serving were very helpful and understanding and we got a refund on the desert. It's a great shame because it could have been a very pleasant evening.

Dear Tom, Thank you for sharing your feedback and apologies it has taken us some time to come back to you. We're pleased to hear you appreciated the helpfulness of our staff. However, we're very sorry to learn about the long wait. We have a small kitchen and with new chef and great weather meant that particular evening was very busy. To alleviate the long wait times we made the decision to open our outdoor kitchen a month early to allow some of the pressure to be taken off the main kitchen. In relation to the toilets we have changed this toilet from a unisex one to ladies and baby changing only. Your comments are invaluable and really appreciate your patience with us. Great location just off the A38, travelled by Motorhome and parked up overnigtht. The pub was eveything yo want from a pub, great beer, great ambience, great food and a welcoming Landlord all at an affordable price.
