   I personally wish all restaurants would do something in regards to the noise level. I don't go to dinner with friends or family to listen to loud music, I go to enjoy the great food and conversation.

   I chose to spend my birthday here because as always Stanford's does not disappoint. First off, we had an amazing server, who was very well mannered and attentive to us the whole evening. The food was nothing less than amazingly delicious every time we come! The drinks were superb, and the atmosphere was nice as always. Our server even threw in a birthday dessert to go! This will always be my favorite date night spot.

    This place is awesome. You kinda have to luck out with the curbside parking. Food was amazing and fairly priced. Service was great. Kinda curious about the "OK. Food safety rating but it was so good, it doesn't matter haha. Will definitely be going back!

    Overall, we enjoyed the night very much. Blake was very personable and good as was the other people. Here is my thoughts on the food: * The beer cheese soup was great except it was barely warm * I ordered a 9 oz. filet Mignon. It was good but just warm and served on a plate. I would have liked it hot and served on a sizzling plate. Also, when I order a FM from a good restaurant like yours, I expect one beautiful piece of meat. This one was one piece with no real definition and then another one connected. The mushrooms looked like they were just tossed on top. Would have been better in a light sauce. The roasted garlic was nice but hard to extract. The Caesar was fine. The other food was good but not hot. and drinks were fine. The only hot dish was the apple dessert in the cast iron pan. The lighting was terrible. Hard to see menu. Like we were in a cave. Having said all this in the spirit of constructive feedback, we will return again at some time (if allowed in :) ) and see if the above has been implemented. Regards, Gary Gieser

    We love this place but this visit was somewhat disappointing. Service was slow and they weren’t that busy. Think they are understaffed. First, our drink order was lost somehow. Then the food was cold - had to reheat it. They did offer to replace it it but we had to get to a show - so asked for a reheat - then it took longer than should of. Whole evening - a birthday celebration for two - seemed a comedy of errors. The food when it did come was great. Wish they would get the kinks out - but honestly, the waiters seemed to be buzzing around so maybe it was the kitchen’s fault. Who knows?

    I had the mothers day special of swordfish, mash potatoes and green beans which was very good. My husband had the filet mignon cabernet tips which was also served with the same mash potatoes and green beans which was also good. Since both dishes were served with the same side dishes, there was no imagination on presentation. Actually quite boring but good anyway. Service was slow because drinks took a while to be served and we waited around 35 mins or more for our food to be served as well. Our waitress was kind enough to apologize for the slowness. I also notice other patrons were waiting for their food too. The restaurant was half full and there was enough wait staff but I think they were short staffed in the kitchen. Other than that, will maybe come back provided they speed up food and drink service.

    My daughter LOVES steakhouses and this is probably one of the best in Tacoma. We both ordered the prime rib special along with onion ring and creamed artichoke-spinach dip appetizers. Everything was delicious. Our waiter was both attentive and knowledgeable -- his recommendation for a Washington State red wine by the glass worked out perfectly. We also enjoyed sharing desserts (creme brulee and chocolate mousse cake). A great evening all around.

    Our overall experience was excellent. My wife and I came to enjoy our 35th wedding anniversary and the staff greeted us was a congratulations at the hostess desk and with the wait staff. Thank you very much. Food was excellent. We had the chicken and i had the steelhead. Both were perfectly cooked and presented. I typically will mot order any farmed fish but the menu was limited so I tried it. As expected the steelhead tasted great. As a top end restaraunt in a waterfront city where salmon are a staple you should really be serving wild salmon and steelhead. Thanks for the great time. I'll look forward to coming back soon.

    This is the second time I’ve dined here. First time I found it to be mediocre and I still feel that way. It was 7:30 Friday night and the restaurant was not even half full. Same as last time I dined there. Which is kind of a red flag in itself. The steak cuts are good quality but literally everything is drenched in salt, even my lobster, which was also over cooked and chewy. My steak was prepared well but not seasoned well. The salt was overpowering, which might be so you purchase more of their $15 drinks which are average at best. My server was kind, and personable, but slow. We were there for 2 hours by no fault of our own. We ordered dessert which was the best thing on the menu, but it took 20 minutes to receive it, and half of the crust was missing on the bottom which is the best part. That should have at least been comped from our bill. The building itself and decor are beautiful. But I don’t like to pay for a book with a pretty cover and zero content. I’ll try any place twice but we probably won’t be back. Also, why is there bread plates on the table if you don’t receive bread with you $70 steak?

    Overall decent spot for dinner/drinks. We shared a bottle of wine and the stuffed mushroom appetizers were tasty. We both had filet mignon medium rare but was cooked medium well, which was fine. The shrimp was okay. The star was the macaroni.. get it. Overall, our experience was good. Our server was so sweet while she was incredibly busy too. Always smiling and checking in on us.     We made a last minute reservation for dinner. Had a hh cocktail in the lounge first; excellent. One of us ordered the 16 oz prime rib dinner and one ordered a ribeye steak and an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms as a side. The prime rib portion looked small for 16 ozs; we did not question it with our waiter/server. We asked for a wine recommendation and were immediately given the 2 highest priced wines. When we did not choose those and, instead, chose a wine with a lower price point the waiter then said “that is one of my favorites!”….well them why didn’t he suggest that one when we asked for a recommendation? This did not give us much confidence in his knowledge of the wines listed in their menu. We will bring our own wine next time; $25 corkage fee. Here are photos of the ribeye and mushrooms.     The staff was wonderful! Our waitress was super! The appetizer was also excellent. Great ambience! The rib eye steak, however, was a bit fatty and did not have much flavor. Perhaps it was just not one of their best cuts of meat last night. In any event, we had a great time and are looking forward to going back there for a happy hour sometime soon. 😊

    This was our first visit to Stanford's, it did not disappoint! The valet was quick and efficient, the hostess greeted us warmly and sat us at a nice table in the center of the restaurant. The decor is very simple and elegant, like refined industrial chic. The space is quiet and well lit, and not too cramped (important for the amount of hustle the staff displays). The menu is well thought and easily navigated, lots of good protein choices as well as great vegetarian options. After choosing a few Libations from the bar, (the Ginger Martini was beautiful). We settled on the Brussel Sprouts and Side Salads to start, both were prepared with care and had great flavor. The chili-cumin seasoning on the sprouts was delightful. As we are great steak lovers, we ordered the bone-in Ribeye and the Prime Rib, both were cooked to perfection, seasoning was simple and really enhanced the natural flavor of the steak. (Note: Sides were included for the Prime Rib, but alacarte for the Ribeye.) Although we had zero room for dessert, we had to sample the crème brûlée, it's a wonderful finishing dish to share, along with some After dinner espresso of course! We have saved the best part for last, the service is absolutely impeccable. Juliana took great care of us being first timers. We were visited by numerous members of the staff, checking in to see how our visit was going. Never an empty glass of water, nor a finished dish left on the table. The staff is visibly engaged, pleasant, and liking to make every patrons experience a great one. Bravo to the whole team. Keep up the great work, it does get noticed!

    I absolutely would recommend Stanford’s Steak to anyone! We celebrated my husband’s birthday dinner there. The staff was very welcoming and kind with birthday wishes. We both ordered the prime rib-yum! The prime rib was very good, and we loved all the sides. They also graciously surprised us with a crème brûlée, and a candle! Five stars all the way!

    Food was great. Kennedy, our server was great, she even remembered our names. She knew the menu, both food and drink. Loved the ambience. A little pricey, but worth it for a special occasion or splurge. I love that they serve fancy mocktails.

    We went on our wedding day and it was absolutely amazing. I believe that the staff is the best is Tacoma that I have had serve me since my arrival in 2017. Everyone was real attentive to our needs and ensured that we wanted for nothing. Our waitress Rendait was the best and will request her again.

    Out of the 3 by the glass wines I ordered, they only had 1 in stock. Ordered the beef medallions tips with a Caesar salad. They never brought the salad. Ended up just doing the entree. It was okay. The meat was over cooked. Overall I would pass on this restaurant.
