Unfortunately, the restaurant's computer system malfunctioned and the credit card processing system stopped working. It was slightly inconvenient, but the server, Matt, took it all in stride and kept his cool.
We had an outstanding time, the food and drinks were great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful!! Stanford Grill will be an annual go-to location for our get-togethers!
Stanford Grill is one of my husband and my favorite restaurants and we love going there on “date night”. The food is consistently perfectly prepared and the service is excellent. We started with a glass of Pinot noir and moscato and a fresh, crisp Cesar salad with delicious dressing. We each selected the 10 ounce prime rib which was plenty to eat even though they offer a larger one. The fries are the crispy shoestring variety that is so fun to eat - we could make a meal on those alone. Eric, our server, was wonderful. We’ve been lucky to have him on previous visits and he recognized us immediately. He is very professional and friendly at the same time - a definite asset to the Blue Ridge Restaurant Group. We’ll definitely ask for Eric on our next visit.
Great. Food is always excellent, service is unbeatable. They are always attentive.
Another great dinner. We’re never disappointed.
The food is consistently excellent. We had a party of six for family visiting. All entrees were delicious: ribs, prime rib, salmon, and a plant-based cheeseburger.
The only drawback is we were seated outside in a covered area and it had a different feel then indoors. I had made an open door reservation two days earlier and wasn’t sure why we were placed outdoors. I wanted this restaurant for the indoor fire place and beautiful decor.
Other than this one thing with seating, I enjoy the friendliness of the staff, the excellent food, and menu selection.
Update: thank you to the Stanford Grill for emailing me about options regarding seating & letting me know that I can ask to be reseated. I appreciate the great customer service.
The food portion size was huge. It is four meals for me. Lot's of left overs which is a good thing.
I did not remember it ever being as noisy. Puzzles me since it was not a full restaurant. It was very difficult to converse and hear what the other said.
I always have a pleasurable experience here.
Everything was great as usual
We used to visit this restaurant all the time pre-pandemic. Unfortunately, it seems to be struggling now, as our experience wasn’t anywhere close to as delightful as we remembered. My husband ordered one of the specials, which he said just wasn’t very good, and I ordered a salad, which had bits of avocado skin in it. Not sure how staff is preparing their avocados, but that’s not a typical problem to have…
After I picked out my fourth piece of avocado skin from my mouth and put it on the side of my plate, I told our server, who profusely apologized and took the salad away. Our server was lovely. I had lost my appetite at that point, and declined her offer to make a new salad.
I was, however, totally shocked when the manager only took off $5 for the charge of the salad, and still charged us the remainder!
Sad to lose another great restaurant from our list, but we likely won’t be returning.
Overall good restaurant, great service, and amazing food. There only complaint I have is that the restaurant is too dark.
The noise from traffic on Rt. 175 was deafening at times.
Average food made better by Hannah, who was an exceptional server!
Hannah treated us well, with great suggestions( we tried the shrimp and grits) which were EXCELLENT!
She took good care of us and made our night extra special!
Tomas stopped by to check on us which was a nice touch.
Staff works really well together and it really shows!
Thanks for a fun night.great meal/fabulous dining experience!
Excellent service and food as always.
Delicious food, nice covered outside dining although the road noise is a bit load. Great service!
Superb as usual
Great food and service as usual. Specials of crab soup and shrimp and grits were the bummmm!
Great experience for a celebration !
Outstanding in all respects. From our arrival to our departure, everything was first-rate. The hostess gave us a friendly greeting, the server (Lisa) was cheerful, engaging, and top-notch, and the meal was delightful. The ambiance of the restaurant was just what we wanted for a relaxing lunch. A truly extraordinary dining experience!
Our server went above and beyond. Also the branzinni was delicious. The watermelon salad was perfect. .
First time in over a year due to covid. As in the past, food was delicious and service was excellent. Good to be back.
My favorite spot!
We ate at a social-distanced table on the back patio. The food was delicious, but the service just a little slow. It seemed our server had too many tables to cater to. A sign of the times... Still, she did well, and in was an enjoyable way to spend our anniversary celebration.
We didn’t realize the Sunday brunch menu was no longer an option. They did have Steak and eggs option which we both had. The basil tomato soup appetizer was delicious. My husband had the special watermelon salad which he may not have selected had he known it was $16. Definitely not worth that price. Like most places these days, they are understaffed. So much so it took a long time before our used appetizer dishes were removed. In fact, they were still on the table when our entrees arrived. I ordered a glass of wine with my meal but had to ask for it again and was almost finished with my meal before it arrived. To her credit, the server did not charge us for the wine. The entrees were excellent. The steak and eggs cooked perfectly. We asked for dessert to go. I’m sure with more staff, the restaurant will be back to its usual quality service.
Pricey but good. Must try the key lime pie for dessert!
I visit Rockville ofen, but not Columbia. Both are very nice. Food is excellent.
You should probably tell your customers that you have changed the policy on pricing and the number of side dishes...
Stanford Grill never disappoints!
Excellent service and great food. A little on the noisy side, but perfect otherwise.
Very enjoyable, as always. Thank You Bobby R. Alexander
As usual, service was great and food was delicious! I’m glad we chose to celebrate my husband’s birthday here.
Great service and food. Was a bit too dark inside, though.
Food was excellent accompanied by very attentive service. It is my favorite Columbia restaurant and I have never been disappointed in the food or service.
One of our favorite places to eat, the food is great and the service is outstanding.
Ambience, food, service, lack of surrounding chatter were perfect for our first date!
The food is great, but the service sinks! I have eaten there many times, but today was the worse service ever!
Always look forward to eating at Stanford. Meal and service were spot on!!!
This is one of my favorite dining choices. The food is excellently prepared. The wait time for the meal being served was short. The disposition of the servers and wait staff was polite and professional.
