I’ve eaten at the Stanford Grill for the past 8 years and never encountered such a rude server nor an ill prepared entree. My Danish ribs tasted like they were doused in lighter fluid and my sides were cold. When I brought my dismay to the servers attention, he was aggressive, combative and rude. I tipped him for risking his life to serve during the pandemic, otherwise his service wasn’t worth a $1 and I’ll never return to Stanford Grill again!!
By far one of my best experiences here. I've had several, but brunch was really nice. Wait staff was very efficient and some of their best we're clearly on hand. I loved this place before, but I love it even more now.
Kitchen closed at 9 yet our reservation was at 8:45. They rushed our order and when the food came out, it was cold. They shouldn't have let us make the reservation that late or at least informed us prior to being seated. When the food was brought back out after being reheated, they forgot some of the food. Our waitress went missing so we couldn't even get the forgotten food. There was no discount, just a question of if we wanted to take the food home. Staff was nice. Menu was very small. Ambiance was dark, but fine. This was my 1st and last time there.
Birthday celebration for friends.
Great romantic, warm, and inviting atmosphere. Great outside dining setup.
very nice restaurant with good menu choices and excellent food. Loved the atmosphere; even during Covid-19 restrictions. Will definitely go back again.
We dine at the Sanford Grill on special occasions and always enjoy the dining experience. This visit was my daughter’s 28th birthday. We had a rotisserie chicken salad, a half rotisserie chicken meal, a steak dinner special with French fries and a side salad. Add a $39.00 bottle of wine. Three people and the bill was only $176.00, including 20% gratuity and there was three of us.
Stanford Grill again pleases with excellent service, tasty food, and well-executed COVID protocol. This is one of the few restaurants where I’ve been willing to eat inside because I hoped they would have the COVID regulations in place ... and they did. People were seated with one or two booths between them and not across from any other patrons. The closest anyone got to other people was on their way to their table when they passed by others seated on the same aisle. Service was quick and efficient, and our meals were presented in a timely manner. Both of us had the meatloaf topped with fire roasted tomato-brown sauce and served with mashed potatoes & green beans. All were well-prepared and tasted excellent. Portions are always generous. To end the meal, my friend had a “serving” of bread pudding and I had one of key lime pie. Here, a “serving” of dessert is enough for at least two and maybe three not-so-hungry diners who have just finished a huge meal. Both the key lime pie and the bread pudding were take-home worthy. Be aware that even though there were only about 30% of the seats full, the main restaurant was still quite loud and had a jazz band which did not remain in the background of the lunch chatter. But the wonderful food and service seem to make the noise easier to tolerate! This is a restaurant not to be missed!
Good food, great company and service was excellent.
Awesome! Even in these difficult times!
They do a superb job!
Food was so good definitely will be back. Very clean
Can not recall my waiter name but he was very professional. He also came back to check on our table more then once to make sure we were ok. That is very important to me.
High top in bar perfect casual! Great food and great service.
Good to finally return, albeit outside, to Stanford Grill's fine dining experience!!!
....patio dining could use candlelight on tables.
Nice restaurant and the food was ok. I rated it average because that was my experience.
Really great experience all the way around
Wait service was unncessarily slow. The restaurant was not full. Waited more than 20 minutes for some eggrolls and then too long after that for my salad. This has not been my usual experience.
We enjoyed the service and the food was great as usual.
Our server Amanda was extremely attentive and pleasant. The food was great and the setting was even better. Given social distancing restrictions, I felt very comfortable and secure with their outdoor setup.
Had the chicken parmesan special. It was fabulous!
Ribs were tough to eat and cornbread skillet was dry!!
I spent spent $80.00 for two meals and I wasn’t pleased!!
I probably won’t ever eat there again nor will I recommend anyone to try it.
My first and last experience unfortunately!
Out waitstaff was very attentive, food delish, and hot.
Great service and nice atmosphere in outdoor tent.
Food was delicious and everything was great! Service was great and tables were positioned away from others! Thank you!
Great for birthday dinner. Sad that the menu limited desserts and soups, but the food was good as always.
This was our first time back at Stanford Grill since COVID. We sat on the patio, and it was lovely. Tables were well-spaced, and the staff all paid attention to PPE/precautions. I had the prime rib - fabulous. My hubby had the steak salad - also quite good, and a bit on the Asian side, flavor-wise.
The only complaint we had is the noise level (seems to be the norm here). The music's a bit loud, which makes people talk louder, which makes it harder to hear, so they talk louder still.. It's hard to hear the waiter (especially when he's good about keeping his mask up), or to have quiet dinner conversation.
Hannah Z was awesome. Love Stanford Grill.
I’ve eaten here many times before & usually enjoy dining here. I was sickened & total stomach turning when I went to use the ladies restroom. The sinks were fine, however out of all the stalls only one was possibly clean enough to use. The others were foul & disgusting & when I returned to the table I took what was more than 1/2 of my meal to finish home. I felt sick. I don’t need to go into descriptions but was totally unexpected. Hardly anyone was there & I assume not a lot of staff either. When I mentioned it to the waitress on my return, she said she couldn’t do both. I understand, who wants cross contamination from a food server cleaning the toilets. She had another server supposedly take care of it. Also the bathroom center sink were taped off for social distancing, surprised they didn’t do that with the bathroom stalls either. Every other one blocked off. I won’t be eating there again anytime soon & I am a rewards member.
The server was excellent. Meat was tough. Not same quality we are used to at this restaurant.
The food was ample and well prepared! We will return to this great restaurant again!!
Excellent service! Bread Pudding is always great!!
Not what I expected from Stanford Grill. Being seated at the table to the right as you enter the restaurant makes you not even feel like part of the atmosphere. The whole feel is off for such a nice restaurant. Automatically changed my attitude for our meal. The meal and service were fine. The menu is paired down. Bread is no longer served. I just wish they would get rid of those tables it just ruined the whole evening.
Brandy our server was great. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back soon.
We had a waitress named Camryn who was amazing! Food was good, comfortable atmosphere, great experience!
Great place to go with Friends or on a date. They have a wonderful ambience.
Our waiter was excellent. Very attentive and always stopping at our table to check if we needed anything. Service was great and food was good. My only concern was with customers. I went to the restroom there was woman with no mask on. I thought that only if we’re sitting down that we can take off our mask. So she was walking around the restaurant with no mask on.
Great experience dining during COVID. Food was hot and wholesome. Service was great. Everything was clean and social distancing was practiced. Well managed restaurant!
Stanford Grill was one of our favorite places when we lived in Maryland and it is just as good as we remembered. I had my favorite, the roasted chicken, my wife was dying to have crab cakes, and these were delicious, and our friend was very happy with his ribs. Our server (can't remember her name!) was friendly and very efficient. An entirely pleasant experience, we are looking forward to visiting on our next trip to MD.
Stanford Grill is an American cuisine chain. The food portions are huge. The Caesar salad was fresh and nicely dressed. The Arctic char was supposed to have a "light" Cajun seasoning, but the fish, while fresh and well cooked, had NO detectable seasoning. It was only accompanied by cole slaw, which is pretty meager for a $25 entree. No rice. No potatoes.
My main complaint: we requested to be seated out of doors because they had propane heaters. Except THEY RAN OUT OF PROPANE on a night when the temperature dropped into the 40s. This is unacceptable.
