   Been here multiple times and never had a bad experience!! First of all, they are very accommodating and never tell me no! Last night I had reservations for 4. It’s a small bar but the hostess had no issue adding 2 more people to my table last minute. Whether it’s drinks or food, everything is delicious and they allow you to order however you like (while many places these days are tight when it comes to requests or substitutions). My favorite drink is their Polaris. It comes in a tall martini glass but I always order it on the rocks in a short glass. Their calamari is really good along with their shrimp tostadas and their Standby burger. They have an amazing jalapeño cheese sauce. The atmosphere is such a mellow fun ambiance with the dim lighting and comfy booth tables. The music selection is a top tier mix of older and newer pop, RnB, and hip hop; definitely one of the best spots to chill and vibe. All of the waitstaff and bartenders are fun and welcoming. I want to give a special shoutout to waitress Taylor. She went above and beyond to ensure my table was satisfied, checking on us multiple times. I told her we were celebrating my birthday and she brought out a round of shots for the table (on the house) with a candle. The gesture was extremely sweet and for sure made me feel special. By far my favorite bar in Detroit and any chance I get to go out I try to at least end my night having a few drinks here.

   Standby has one of the best vibes in the city, IMO. On top of that the food was delicious. We ordered the Arancini, Grilled French Onion, Chile Roasted Mushroom Tostadas, and the Standby burger. The drink menu is vast and filled with unique cocktails. We chose the Cats of Amontillado and the Palm Trees in Paris. Definitely a must-visit!

   We found this place after a show at Fisher Theater. I think we hit it at just the right time because it was quiet, comfortable and COOOOOL! As the late afternoon progressed to evening, the pace picked up and you could tell it was a hot spot. I didn't love the featured cocktail I got, and I smirk at anyplace that charges double digits for Wild Turkey, but..... the food was amazing and I can settle into a traditional bourbon the next time.

   I love Standby! They have a very extensive cocktail menu with quality ingredients. The drinks are delicious. We have had the same waiter on our last two visits and he is great too.

   Food was incredible, drinks were very good a little pricy for the size but over all worth the experience. Service was impeccable very knowledgeable server shout out to Taylor!! Definitely worth the experience. 5 stars

    Out with friends for a birthday drink. First time here. Enjoyed everything about it. Music was great, people, great vibe. I didn’t eat any food but my friends did and they enjoyed it. My drinks were delicious. I will be back. Waiter was awesome !

    Went here on a Friday night with friends. Had a reservation for 6:30pm, and was a few minutes late but they still had a table ready for us as soon as we walked in. Drinks were amazing, staff was attentive and great. Will definitely be coming back!

    The best cocktail bar in Detroit. The menu is extensive, the drinks are creative and delicious. Everyone that works there is always friendly. They’ll even comp your first two hours of parking in the deck across the alley. Honestly, what more could you hope for?

    We went for a pop up Valentines event and it wasn't really what we had expected and left hungry and disappointed. The food menu had the same offerings usual so we ordered a couple of dishes that we hadn't tried before - coconut calamari and arancini. The calamari was so spicy it left our mouths burning. The arancini was mushy and had a strong onion flavor. There was a special drink menu so we ordered one each. They were 16-17 dollars each and while they were visually appealing, they were mostly ice. Our experiences in the past at Standby have been great. This time, not so much. Should've saved the money and stayed home.

    Phenomenal experience at Standby. This was my second time here. First time I quickly stopped in for a drink with a group of 6. But this time I was able to actually sit down and enjoy how special this place is. The ambiance is incredible, maybe one of the best in Detroit. The service was great, so attentive even on a busy Friday night. Our cocktails were very well made. The pork ragu and soft pretzels were tasty. I would definitely recommend checking this place out and I will definitely be returning. Cheers!

    Birthday drinking- the lighting was a bit too dark, you can barely read the menu to order, then they turned all. The lights off. The service was not the best the ppl who come collect your plate was for sure doing their job but not the waiter. This is not the standby it used to be a few short years ago. The whole vibe is just different.

    I had a reservation for 7pm, but the weather was bad with heavy rain and the drive in was treacherous. I called the restaurant at 650 to let them know I was running late and to confirm if they could hold our table. This location doesn't accept calls. We had to text them, but they're never replied. When the first guest arrived 10 mins late, they were told our table was given away. We were seated in a small booth and were told we could be moved to a larger table if the party doesn't show on time for their reservation at 8pm. By 815, the party still had not arrived and we were never moved. We decided to leave early and go to another restaurant with adequate seating.

    Really nice restaurant. I highly recommend it if you have some spare cash and want a good food experience. The menu selection is small but the food is super-high quality. The drinks were amazing as well. The staff was excellent.

    Arrived at 7:45 with our appointment waited on immediately ❤️ sat down order two appetizers and a drink. At 9:51 I asked the server for the bill the server walks back to me and places it down. I very nicely said. Thanks for not charging me for the food that we never got. Face shocked 😳 realize that the server fudged up. Reminder the tables are close! And yet serving everyone around us and not thinking at all within two hours we had no food in front of us. I tipped and left. I have been here one other time and amazing service (I came late so I didn’t get to try food the first time) so I chose it for my sister bday dinner (her first time) let’s just say she hated it left super hungry and she never wants to go back. ( more servers are needed) ❤️ but beautiful place and tasty drinks

    Date night was wonderful at the Standby! Loved all our drinks and all our food. We sat at a corner table that was chilly with people coming in on a cold night. Everything else was perfect! Will be back.
