Celebrated a birthday here and had a great experience!
This place is amazing! The food was incredible. Only wish they had a larger cocktail menu.
So good! The sea bass and steak Are some of the best we’ve had
The food was excellent! The server was nice and knowledgeable but service was very slow! At 7pm on a Saturday night, the restaurant was never more than 25-50% full. I would go back because the food was so good!
We had a fantastic experience. The food and drinks were amazing. The sea bass was one of the best I have had. The Watters Brambelberry was very yummy! Our server, Michella was probably one of the best servers I have ever had. She was personable, fun, and made sure that we had a wonderful experience!
Service was slow. Too much emphasis on jalapeno in too many items. Food served nearly cold and over priced for the overall experience. This was our second visit. Not as good as the first visit and we had hoped it had improved from first visit but it had not.
Not very likely to come back.
Michellea was an excellent server! Small venue and even smaller menu than downtown Stampede.
This was the worst meal I’ve had in 2019. Went here because I had a conference at the hotel. I’m was with a colleague and both is us could barely eat the food.
We had a great time, service was good, food was good, love that you have vegetarian options. It was a busy day for the hotel apparently. We will go back soon
The staff was great. Restaurant wouldn’t serve any alcohol on Sunday until noon, despite food being ordered. Maybe it’s a city specific ordinance? Food was overpriced. Flavor was good but not worth it. Didn’t hate it, but wouldn’t go back.
Love having a great special occasion restaurant in the area.
Wonderful first experience and we plan to return! Service was excellent! The food was not only amazingly good, but the presentation was beautiful!
Enjoyed a fabulous dinner with good friends. Appetizer was the shiner bock beer bread which is not to be missed!! So good. Salad was the southwest Caesar- so delicious and fun presentation. Totally unique. Dinner was sea bass for me and I wanted to lick the plate. My husband had beef tenderloin with Brussels sprouts and said it was in the top 3 steaks he’s eaten. Service was a little slow but wonderful knowledgeable waiter. Great wine list too. Will definitely be back.
Half of our food was good and the other half horrible. Our waiter was great though. Not a place I would recommend or really plan to go back to. The menu needs a lot of adjustments.
Quality of food was below expectations the crab salad had a fried skeleton of a crab on top.
The salmon was average, I have had better.
The late afternoon sun was shining directly in my eyes, very annoying. The waiter said they are working on it . Otherwise the restaurant was very clean with great ambiance.
For the price I felt we could get a better value at some other high end restaurants in the area.
Food was good. We are 1 of 3 parties in the entire restaurant and the service was slow. This was a work dinner and the waiter served one of beverages in a can - no glass. Never seen that before in what I would consider a nice restaurant.
The food was excellent. I have the chef’s special and it was exceptionally good. Thank you for an enjoyable evening ☺️
The place does not look like old Texas.. The videos notwithstanding... Service rather sloppy.
Like any of Stephan Piles restaraunts the food was outstanding. The location, just down the street from the house was ideal, but not really the ambiance I expected after being at his other places. Very open with the tables and booths in a large open space. Only a few booths being tucked away; however, there was a whole other side not open to us. Overall, great place and we will be back!!!
Mario is the best waiter and I will only come to this restaurant when he is serving us.
The food was absolutely horrible and the drinks were even worse they came and stirred the service was awful we even asked for dessert we didn’t get it I love for the general manager to call me because I feel like it was a waste of $150 Everything was so salty the Caesar salad was terrible the deviled eggs even worse the salmon was served with the skin when I asked for it to not have the skin the CBass had absolutely no taste
Brisket was really good but dry and they didn’t give us any sauce. Shame because it would been 5 stars.
I am a Marriott titanium elite member and I just felt that the restaurant was not up to the standards of the Marriott Bonvoy name.
Good food and friendly service. Pacing was a little slow, but our server was ultra friendly and helpful.
Hi Karl, Thank your for sharing your feedback! I am glad you enjoyed your dinner. We hope to see you again soon!!
What a fantastic spot to celebrate Mother’s Day! Food and drinks were fabulous. Totally need to do more advertising for this place!
Had the fried chicken, with tots and a stale biscuit. Husband had chicken fried buffalo, mediocre.
Hi Judith, I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your dinning experience. I have shared your feedback and hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back for a better experience in the future.
Our server Mischella was wonderful. She was so friendly and took care of our needs. Definitely, gave her opinion on what she thought was great to order which I like, since I hadn't eaten there before. My only complaint was the patrons who bought in small children who were loud. When I go to an upscale restaurant. I don't like to hear winey children. I would definitely recommend this place. I would love to see it find a home in Allen.
Hi Jane, Thank you for your feedback! I am so happy that Mischella made you feel so well taken are of! That is definitely one of her many amazing qualities! If you are looking for some variety, aside from our new Seasonal Menu, we are also having themed dinners each month, our June Dinner is a 5-course dinner with pairings of different Rose's. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Excellent food and service. Caesar Salad was delicious. The flavor of the tenderloin was excellent. Was our first time dining at Stampede and will not be our last.
Hi SuzanneB, I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your dining experience and even happier to hear that we will see you again! Thank you for your feedback! We look forward to your next visit!
An overall poor dining experience:
Walking in, the place smells amazing. I was very excited to enjoy a great meal and was disappointed with just about every aspect of Stampede 66.
Drinks came out after 10-15 minutes of ordering them, which was after our apps came out.
-Cocktails were not adequately stirred/shaken and brought out without a straw/stirrer - which lead to it tasting like three separate drinks. Half way through I thought, "Oh, this is what is should taste like. "
Entree was good, large portions but nothing amazing.
Desert (Chocolate Pecan Cake)
-The desert sat on our table for 5 minutes because we didn't have forks to eat it with. It looked like it had been sitting out since the day before.
-While it was sitting there, I felt the skillet it came in and both the skillet and desert were a little over room temperature. The desert fell out of the skillet like a brick (all in one piece), obviously it had not been prepared anytime recently.
-When the server came back (still, no forks) I asked the server, "is this supposed to be warm or cold, because it is neither one." He took the desert back, we requested he NOT bring us another one, just our check.
-Still, no forks....
-The server took the desert back but left it on our bill.
Coffee order was incorrect and server didn't understand what is should be. If the menu says it should have whipped cream, then the drink should come out with whipped cream, which it didn't. He later came out with a can of whipped cream and mentioned it was the only whipped cream he could fine and gave us the last of the spray can in a cup.
Either they don't have a kitchen management system or it was down, because the chef was sorting the orders on a counter top and working the kitchen from the dining area.
Hello Kirk, I am sorry to hear that we did not live up to our standards or your expectations. I have shared your review with the team so we can improve on the experience we offer every guest. I hope we are fortunate enough to see you again to offer the experience we want all of our guests to have.
It was nice to have an upscale dinning experience so close to home. Were tiered of the usual chain restaurants that dot the suburban landscape.
While the food was delicious both for dinner and leftovers, it was pretty expensive.
Once in awhile place or good place to meet future in laws.
Hi Amy, Thank your or your feedback, we look forward to your next visit!!
I thought our food, tenderloin and sea bass and Caesar salad were prepared perfectly and our service was also very good. it was Nice having valet service because it was pouring when we finished our meal.
Hi SusanW, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We look forward to your next visit!
Food and service was excellent. I’ll definitely be coming back.
I was a big fan of the original Stampede 66 in Dallas, but this is not Stampede 66. The original was special in several ways that made it a memorable experience for visitors from out of state, but this incarnation is a pale imitation. The food was okay. Many of the original menu items are there, but not served with style and creativity. The famous fried-chicken that used to be served in a bucket, is now on a regular plate. The decor and ambiance is spartan, boring and uninspired - nothing like the original. The service was amateurish and tentative. The restaurant doesn’t have its own bar, and bar service from the Delta Hotel bar was slow and gone is the fabulous liquid nitrogen-cooled margarita cart. I ordered a domestically-brewed Mexican beer and they were out. Who runs out of bottled beer on a Saturday night? Since this restaurant is located in a convention center hotel, they can probably stay in business without repeat customers from the area, but is not doing the Stephen Pyles brand any favors.
Service was good, food was creative and well prepared. The drinks were ridiculously expensive. $18 for a garrison brothers TX bourbon. They did not have a good bourbon selection.
The new location doesn’t have the menu the McKinney Avenue location had. Nice space but more linear than the old store
Our group thought the various food items we had were too spicy or had too many flavors going on in one dish. Two of us were surprised as this was our second time there and we again. Ordered the side of "pickles" on the menu as we liked them before. This time the "pickles" came out and were two hidden bread pickles at the bottom of the jar with jalapeños and pickled okra stuffed on top. These were extremely spicy! This ruined the entire meal for one person as it upset her stomach and she couldn't get the "fire" or taste out of her mouth to enjoy her chicken. Most of our party agreed they would not return.
There is a good range of spiciness in the entrees. The waiter knows how to advise you on this point. I was very satisfied with his suggestion.
Depends whether I would recommend to a friend. Based upon their food palate. If you love the Stephan Pyles taste, you will thoroughly enjoy Stampede 66 for the food - not the service and possibly location. Bay of Fundy Salmon was seasoned exactly as I expected and was very well prepared and served as was my companions chicken fried buffalo. Drinks were lackluster and not a varied selection of innovative bar drinks. Wine by the glass was a nice selection. Did not care for the huge screen above my head that continued to flash light high and low. It is still a hotel venue for better or worse. I will eat there again because of the convenience and food, but hoping service improves.
