Stagioni - Pittsburgh
Stephen takes a fresh and simple approach to Italian cooking by using local and seasonal ingredients.
While Stephen tends to the kitchen, Cara is responsible for creating the wine list and drink lists.
We have a seasonal approach to drinks as well, using ingredients and flavors of the season.
Our wine list consists of unique grape varietals as well as great food pairing Italian classics.
We are located in Pittsburgh's south side on the 21st block of Carson street.
The food was very good . Excellent service!
Excellent food and our service was terrific! Would definitely go back the next time we are in Pittsburgh
Hunter, our server was knowledgeable, pleasant, and polite. Our meals were served attractively and tasted great. Our from out of town guests enjoyed the restaurant and meal as much as we did. Thank you for being part of our great evening.
Authentic Italian dishes, very well prepared. Service was friendly and accommodating.
Excellent food and double excellent service from Hunter, our waiter! Don’t need anything else for a fine dining experience!
Bottom line- Excellent service and excellent food!
Food came out well timed to enjoy each course of the dining experience. They did not rush us out like some places when the meal was over either- let us enjoy!
Stagioni is the only restaurant we have found in Pittsburgh that reminds us of Boston's North End (Little Italy). Absolutely delicious
Visitors from out of town
This is an excellent restaurant. The preparation is so pure and fresh. There is such attention to detail for every preparation. Recently, I tried the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and Braciole with one of the homemade pasta selections in a veal and porcini ragu. It was perfect.
I appreciate this restaurant for its high quality ingredients and exquisite preparation. I highly recommend it for anyone who appreciates authentic Italian food.
Great as always!!!
Four of us dined together for the first time on a rainy Monday. Bryan took excellent care of us. We enjoyed each dish: branzino, clams linguine, gnocchi, pasta with rabbit, onions, mushrooms and a delightful escarole and hazelnut salad. Everything was delicious, but a bit too rich. The lonely fish could have been accompanied by a vegetable or starch. Desserts - tiramisu and semifreddo - were outstanding and clearly made in house. The dining room is simple and cozy and relatively quiet. Could do without the odd music in the background, but we didn't notice it after awhile. All in all, a very enjoyable dinner out.
The staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. The pasta was delicious. Salads were fresh and tasty, not overdressed. The meatballs and braciole were very good as well. The dining room was intimate and rather quiet despite the fact that other diners were close by. A very nice dining experience.
Hunter was very attentive and gave us excellent recommendations. I love that the pastas have a small plate option!
All food was excellent. Prompt service. Went above and beyond to assist in returning lost item
This was our second time there and service and food were outstanding as it was the first time. Brian was our server and he was excellent!!
We will be back on a regular basis.
The food was outstanding. Dinner for 5 foodies and none of us had a bad thing to say. Every dish was delicious and the price is more than reasonable for the quality of food you are served. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent service great food!!!!
Delicious food in a warm, welcoming environment. We went on a Wednesday evening for a birthday celebration. They had a $20 wine list so we started with a bottle of wine and the homemade mozzarella appetizer. This is my favorite appetizer of all time. Comes with ciabatta bread pieces, proscuitto, and olives and peppers. Next up was stuffed hot peppers. The peppers were stuffed with sausage and were in a great red sauces with melted cheese on top. We got the polenta with mushrooms next. The mushroom medley was delicious. Note that the polenta here is creamy polenta poured over the mushrooms. Yum. We got 2 small orders of pasta - the ricotta gnocchi with sausage and rapini - my favorite. Soft pillowy gnocchi with a super flavorful sauce. We also had the magliatore with veal sauce...big ribbons of pasta topped with bursts of flavor. Overall an excellent dinner.
appetizers were fantastic but the pasta just OK. A little too salty for one guest and another indicated her dish was a little too bland. Mine (Cappelini) was very good.
From the moment we arrived, our waiter Rob provided excellent service. He was very friendly and made great recommendations. Everything we ordered from the greens and beans and zucchini to our main meal which was a lobster special and hangar steak, all delicious!
Our server Eva made the evening! She was wonderful!
quaint little restaurant with amazing service and delicious plates
This restaurant far exceed my expectations the food is excellent...the made to order mozzarella is some of the best I’ve ever had. The service was also top notch the waiter was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely dine her again.
One of my favorite restaurants in the south side! The staff is always friendly and kind. They have a way of making you feel welcomed and I love how each time I go they explain the menu, since things change with the reasons. The food is fantastic, fresh, and delicious. They also have a great wine list!
The food was amazing and the staff was very welcoming.
Great food, friendly staff, and quick service. My wife and I came here for an anniversary date, and we would come back again.
Food, atmosphere, service all first rate. Able to carry on conversations without shouting. Server very professional. Everyone ( even teenage boys trying out new foods) enjoyed their meals. I definitely will recommend and return.
The server was very friendly and very helpful in discussing and choosing selections throughout the ordering. She was also very patient as well as very knowledgeable of the menu. The menu was quite delightful with its seasonal selections.
First off, the homemade focaccia that they bring to the table is delicious and some of the best bread I have ever had. We had the stuffed peppers appetizer and the arranici appetizer and both were outstanding.for our main meal, my husband and I split three half orders of pastas and they were all delicious. The pastas are all homemade and cooked perfectly and each of the sauces was perfection. The food is truly homemade and authentic.
Limited menu. Stuffed pepper appetizer was inedible(peppers hard as a rock). Sent them back & was taken off tab. Beans & greens tasted ok but looked gross. Others ordered noodle dishes that were undercooked (too al dente!) Clams we’re tiny & tasteless. I ordered the octopus & polenta- looked unappealing on the plate & didn’t taste much better. There were 6 of us & nobody had a decent meal. Our waitress , Ava, was lovely & was helpful in guiding us through the menu. But we won’t be back..
Delicious, authentic Italian food. Waiter was pleasant and efficient. We also love the cozy little bar. One of our faves in the city.
Greens and beans were fantastic. Stuffed banana peppers were delicious. Gnocchi were light as pillows.
Our server was so enthusiastic about the food and checked on us often.
Excellent service and outstanding food! So many tasty appetizers and entrees. Love Stagioni! We'll be back.
This a one of my favorite restaurants and and is at the top of my “go to” list. I have a discerning palate and do not just eat anywhere, and do not dine at food chain establishments. I very much enjoy the vignette style dining and the non-intrusive, but on-point service. The food speaks for itself. Special thanks to Hunter, whom we’ve had the pleasure of his service several times now, for another enjoyable evening! I am a visitor to this wonderful city and try to dine here on every visit. Thanks for the consistency, you never disappoint!
Always one of our favorite places. Food is always especially good. Ordered the Scallops, Shrimp and Chick Peas. Thought it was a wonderful combination, but I thought the portion was a bit small for the price. That is the only reason I gave them a 4 star on the value. A large person would have left hungry. Otherwise, great spot!
Staff and owner were amazing and so nice! Loved the food and definitely plan on returning
Outstanding food and service. The staff makes a great and successful effort to make guests feel like family. Conversation is easy, descriptions of menu items clear and honest. It is just one of the finest dining experiences in Pittsburgh.
I have alway loved your restaurant. I loved the rollitini WITH the speck. It was my go to choice. I have been there since that was changed and always enjoyed my meal. Saturday night was the first time I saw the new menu. Very disappointed and didn’t know what to order, so I played it safe with the hanger steak. It was tough. I loved the little potatoes with it, though. My friend had the shrimp and scallops with polenta. Fishy smell and pour the polenta over it was a very unappealing presentation. He commented to the waiter that it looked like cream of wheat! I think you need to rethink some of your menu choices. However, don’t change the mozzarella. It is delicious!
Since before they moved from Bloomfield to South Side, we’ve been saying “we have to get to Stagioni!”
We finally did and it was wonderful! Comfortable atmosphere, but not too casual, it feels like you’re “going out to dinner”... our waiter Rob was excellent, gave recommendations, checked on us just enough and was so knowledgeable.
The room was lively but not loud.
The food was DELICIOUS! Try to Dates wrapped in Prosciutto- they’re amazing and save room for dessert, the Olive Oil cake was unique and a perfect sweet but not too sweet treat - definitely big enough to split.
The option to order a small or large order is pasta is great! More places should do that!!
We’re in love with Stagioni and we’ll be back! So happy that white table cloth restaurants have come back to South Side!
Top notch dining experience from the moment we sat down to the end of dessert.
