Stagioni - Pittsburgh
Stephen takes a fresh and simple approach to Italian cooking by using local and seasonal ingredients.
While Stephen tends to the kitchen, Cara is responsible for creating the wine list and drink lists.
We have a seasonal approach to drinks as well, using ingredients and flavors of the season.
Our wine list consists of unique grape varietals as well as great food pairing Italian classics.
We are located in Pittsburgh's south side on the 21st block of Carson street.
Food was good, but very small portions and over priced.
Awesome food. Outstanding service. Great ambiance. Fun date or special occasion venue.
The service was excellent, but the price is too high for the food. It was good but i wouldn't say it was one of a kind. There were 3 of us, no alcohol, one appetizer, 2 salads and 3 meals with only one as a full serving. With tip the cost was $100.
This is a great Italian restaurant. Food, service and atmosphere are wonderful.
Our waiter, Jason, was polite and helpful.
This is our favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh! We live in New York again, but we make sure to go back every time we visit. We have yet to find an Italian restaurant with this charm and delicious food in NYC!
Staff is friendly, the place is cute, but the food is bland, underdone, and way too expensive for the poor quality. The focaccia bread they gave us was raw. The pasta dishes were underdone as well and completely flavorless. A complete waste of $60.
The food and cocktails are amazing. Excellent service.
The food was fantastic! So flavorful and very fresh tasting.
There were some unusual and interesting flavor combinations.
Service was outstanding. Food was generally very good.
This restaurant was definitely not worth the money. I've never experienced such a minuscule portions of food ever in an Italian restaurant. Very expensive overpriced for what you get.
Love the small plate options. Everything was VERY delicious!
It’s one of our go-to restaurants because it’s consistently very good, with friendly knowledgeable service.
Everything was wonderful! Our sever was amazing and took her time even though we arrived late for our reservation! Every dish was cooked perfectly and the overall experience was an A +. Will return
The food was incredible!! The mozzarella appetizer is the house specialty and it was easy to see why... very creamy!! Our waitress was excellent and defiantly added to our enjoyable evening! We we be back!!
The staff at Stagioni was wonderful. My mother has mobility issues and fell walking from the car to the door (cane in tow). No sooner did she start to go down did I see one of staff run out to make sure she was okay. I was bringing her for a birthday dinner and she still wanted to go in and they could not have been more accommodating. Kind, but never made her feel self conscious and she enjoyed a fabulous meal. When we got a block away we realized we forgot her leftovers at the restaurant. I called, turned the car around, and no sooner did I reach the curb outside the restaurant was our waiter there to bring it to our car. This is beyond service. This is true kindness and accommodation and it meant the world to me and my mom.
Upon arrival, the host led our party of 4 to a table for 2. When informed her we had 4 people, they quickly set up another table nearby that would fit us. The waitress then came over and gave a very detailed rundown of the menu, highlighting several new items as well as crowd favorites. Once we placed our order, a few mistakes started to happen. The server forgot the glass of wine I had ordered, forgot my part of my husband’s meal, and someone started serving us an appetizer that was meant for a different table. Once we pointed out each problem, the staff were apologetic and very quick to fix it. As far as food goes, the flavors were good overall. The appetizers were delicious (we ordered the mozzarella, dates, and polenta). For entrees, we each order 2 half sizes of various pastas. Almost everyone at the table felt similarly that they loved one of their pastas but wasn’t crazy about the other one. Overall we had a fine experience there, just nothing spectacular.
Server was Annabelle, did an outstanding job! Can't wait to go back.
Consistently marvelous. My friend and I enjoyed dinner before the theater. Our server was knowledgeable and personable and the chef very accommodating to my friend’s allergy issues. The whole Branzino was perfect! And we loved the mushroom polenta.
Everything was fine
The four of us had a delightful dinner at Stagione's. We were impressed with the food (YES on the cavatelli!) and the service, which was personal and wonderfully friendly, while leaving us plenty of time to talk.
Absolutely amazing! I recommend Hunter as a waiter! He was awesome!
Amazing food - everything is fresh and made in house. Service was amazing.
Birthday Good night to look for good food he was there before & liked it
I just celebrated my birthday and with 5 other couples. It was amazing! Love the made to mozzarella and the polenta.
A gem on the Southside. Menu is always changing to add seasonal items. One owner is the master of the bar, the other, chef. Both are outstanding. Eating at one of the tables in the bar area is always fun and relaxing. I look forward to my next visit!!
This one of the best values in the Pittsburgh.Food is excellent and prices are very fair. One of my favorites in the city
Very nice dinner and service!
thought the food was very good! would def go back. service was great too!!
My parents and I had a wonderful meal. We got the mozzarella, egg plant, and stuffed peppers for apps. Then each got two half orders of pasta to try as many as we could. Each dish was superb
It was stellar.👍
Everything was absolutely amazing this is our new favorite spot! My husband‘s father owned an Italian restaurant everything was 5 stars. We will definitely go back
Great pasta and full or half portions. Skip mozzarella.
Everything was amazing, drinks, appetizers and the pasta I had was delicious. Will be back sooner than later.
The waiter was excellent. He gave a lot of information about the menu and was personable. I would recommend any of the pastas that they make in house, I got the fettuccine and the texture was incredible!
The ambiance at Stagioni is wonderful -- it is romantic and conducive to good conversation. I realize they do not cater to vegans, but the vegan food was subpar. It was also cold and extremely overpriced for the portion size. I'm not a big eater, but was still hungry after salad and a large pasta. My husband's was also cold and small.
The service was good but not great. Our server was very friendly, but it took a good 5-10 minutes to get our drinks for example.
Overall, I would probably not go back to Stagioni.
I would feel better holding off on recommending until I visit again. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was cozy and quaint ....but we could not get over the service! It was too the point that it was comical. Although our server made many mistakes and acted like she was not aware that she had done anything wrong, made us think they need to train the staff better(so we put it on the management). We will return for the food, one more time, BUT if the service is the same...shame on them!
I have been to Stagioni many times. After the folks at Dish decided to take a "sabbatical," Stagioni has become one of my new go-to restaurants in the city. I even had my 40th birthday there in a private room upstairs. The food the other night was excellent as usual, but we were seated downstairs, rather than upstairs, for the first time, and, as a result, it was not the same experience. It is too bright and too loud - not what I had in mind for a nice Valentine's Day dinner. Additionally, I have always thought Stagioni's corkage fee (much like Dish' used to be) was very reasonable, and I have been happy to pay it, but now it's $20. I understand the need for a corkage fee, but Stagioni (while clearly very good and one of my favorites) is not a high-end restaurant, and now they are charging more of a high-end restaurant corkage fee. I realize some of those fees can be $25 or even as high as $35 (like at Altius, and I will never go there again for that reason), but $20 for Stagioni seems to be a bit steep, especially considering the casual vibe, particularly in the downstairs area. Still, great food, and I will probably go again, but it was not the same experience this last time around.
Great food, even better wine, service was decent. Atmosphere was cool, felt like an old Pittsburgh house turned into a high-end restaurant. Tables were oddly long but overall very enjoyable experience
We always have a great experience here! We’ve been here a dozen times. Food is fresh!
