Absolutely love this hidden gem! They have the most wonderful staff, amazing wine and cocktails, and a unique menu. The atmosphere is perfect, and always a great time.

The food was not the usual cafe food. It was unique and tastefully presented and without pretension. The atmosphere was cosy and quiet. It was a welcoming and enjoyable experience.

Our experience was instead of a Xmas staff dinner, we (2) felt the care in very plate brought to the table! The staff are lovely and happy to explain anything on the menu and vast bevy list.

This is our go to place for a night out, food is always AMAZING, staff is always friendly, price are reasonable for the quality. Can't think of a negative thing to say to be quite honest besides our drinks parished for a few minutes and we had to ask to order another (NOT A BAD THING, just nice one someone comes over and asks if you would like another drink)

I have been going to Stage with various partners since they opened ten years ago, this time with my husband of four years on a pre Christmas date. It was everything I could have hoped for. The food was superb, wine list as usual, excellent, probably the best in the city. Service as usual, attentive without being obvious. Ambience is cozy and romantic and everything you would want in a small out of the way bistro/restaurant! I would eat there every night if I could!! Actually, I would live there if I could!!!

Exceptional service, upscale/relaxed ambiance, and the food was absolutely incredible. We stayed 2 hours and ordered one of everything on the menu — everything was delicious and cooked to perfection but the duck leg and bone marrow with bread were our favorites. It’s clear that the chef is highly skilled at what he does! We’ll definitely be back :)

We love Stage. The location, away from the tourist traps downtown, makes it feel like a special gem for locals. The food is creative and delicious and the bar and cellar well stocked. Lovely, low key, but always there when you need them servers. The friendly but not in you face service is better than many fine restaurants we've visited in Victoria, Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles. While I want to keep this special to us place a secret, I just can't help raving about then when we (used to) have visitors. Check out their Instagram for the weekly menu.

Stages seemed unaware that there is a pandemic. They manager stated that masks were not manditory and that masks negatively impacted the restaurant ambiance. Tables were spaced but guests visited between tables; the music was loud which increased the necessity to speek loudly. The manager stated that there was not enough COVID positive in the area for him to recommend masks and that he anticipated they may begin to ware masks in a few days. We left at approximately 10 pm. Sad.
Food was good.

Every course of the five course menu was excellent. The server was low-key and friendly. Great ambiance.

Stage is our favourite. Come here for amazing meals (we always get the prefix), great service and magical moments. There’s something about stage that ends up in amazing dinner conversation while eating even better food.

Partner and I did the prix fixed menu on a Friday night. Food was great, $65 each included two smaller dishes, a main and dessert. We tried out a handful of wines and they were awesome (totalled more than the meal ha!) And our server was super helpful and easy to talk to. Ambiance is very intimate yet modern.

My personal favourite restaurant but our last visit was just above a d beyond!! Best service by Matthew and excellent food by chef !! Can’t wait for the next visit!!

Relaxed and enjoyable

Our server was AMAZING, he made the experience that much better. The food and ambience was nothing short of spectacular. My boyfriend & I had such a great time. It was our first time there as we were visiting from Vancouver. Definitely looking forward to visiting again when we’re in town next!

Lovely experience with their multi course tasting menu. The food is just so good, as is the service.

Gorgeous, cozy, neighborhood bistro. Warm, welcoming staff, beautiful interior, incredible food and thoughtfully curated wine selection. The restaurant is under new-ish ownership (maybe a almost a year now?) and it has easily become my favorite restaurant in Victoria. They recently opened a patio area and they also have a small grocery store at the front of the restaurant with beautiful wines, craft, beer, Sheringham gins, absinthe, heritage eggs, duck confit (OMG!!), terrine, craft chocolates, homemade jams, pesto and homemade butter (with sage) etc. and it is all beautifully presented.

Stage was the perfect setting for our first dinner out with close friends in a long time. This quaint, friendly restaurant had exceptional service and a local, relaxed yet upscale vibe. The prix fixe menu was a relief as we simply wanted to enjoy our friends, without being encumbered by complex menu choices. The food was outstanding, fresh, generous and, did I mention outstanding? We will definitely be back to Stage very soon.

A little noisy, but comfortable. Food, drinks, service, all excellent. Three of us shared various dishes and a bottle of wine and loved everything.

We have been going to Stage for years and love the new menu. The rib eye for two was amazingly delicious and of course, the wine selection is always spectacular

Great place for dinner. The cod was amazing just too salty so was the steak tartare. Excellent service.

Food 10/10 - Ambience 10/10 - Service 10/10. Simply perfect.

The service was great and our drinks were fantastic however the valentines steak dinner was over priced for the sinewy piece of meat I received-it was almost impossible to cut through and I ended up only being able to eat half of the 10oz portion..quite disappointing.

My only complaint is I would like to see more French wines on their wine list. A good fruity French Pinot noir would be nice. Other than that it was awesome.
