Just outside of Stage is our Amuse Wine Bar where we feature an 'Amuse Bites' menu of some familiar favorites from Stage, as well as a unique wine serving system which offers 80 wines from around the world for every occasion. Amuse offers limited reservations between 5p and 6:30pm for parties of 6 or more.
On the first floor of the design center is Stage Cafe, an extension of Stage Restaurant & Wine Bar featuring quick casual lunch fare by Executive Chef Ron de Guzman as well as desserts & pastries by Pastry Chef Cainan Sabey.
The decor was very avant-garde. I haven’t see it before. The menu was excellent, provocative and innovative. The chef really is talented. The wait staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. I truly getting here early to try the amuse wine bar next door before having your meal. It is an amazing experience for romantic dinners.
The food took too damn long. 5-course meal took almost 3 hours. Unsat.
We went for a Valentine's prix fix menu that the restaurant wanted to be clear we understood. The courses and interludes were excellent, service attentive and entertainment low-key/piano, in all a fine service. Decor/ambiance much improved since our last visit: kudos to management. We'll be back soon.
Valentine's Day dinner. Wonderful 5-course prefix by Chef DeGuzman, the service from Aden was attentive, friendly and warm, and GM Michael Moore kept the room running smoothly on a very busy night. Last-year's renovation worked wonderfully and the wine list is quite good. Be back soon.
Loved everything about this place!!! It was spot on in every aspect.
Suxh a wonderful experience! We did the five course meal with a wine pairing and it was so worth it! The service was amazing and our host was so knowledgeable about the food and the wine. It was quiet with a piano player in the background, such a nice touch. The only thing we didn't like was the entrance. We had to walk around the building to get in and then make our way through a very noisy and crowded win bar.
Wonderful meal and ambience. The Beef Wellington was so tender, flavorful and beautifully presented. Quiet, comfortable & unique decor. Great for a business dinner, date night or special occasion. Highly recommend
I’m a foodie and my husband and I enjoy fine dining. Your did not disappoint us. The staff were attentive and provided great service. The food presentation was impressive and most importantly, everything we ordered were very, very delicious. Hats off to the Chef!
Everything was great, service excellent, beautiful ambience, prices are very reasonable and worth it.
We had a wonderful time at Stage. The food and service was outstanding! We were celebrating a special event & the Chef even did a special dessert. We will definitely be back! Thank you to all the staff at Stage!
In have been a fan of Stage for many years but haven’t been there in almost a year. The new decor sets for an ambiance above all other competitors in the area.....a MUST experience in downtown Honolulu.
Service was impeccable. Food delicious. A wonderful evening in a relaxed setting.
I HIGHLY recommend everyone to try this place once to experience the ambiance, food and service. Everything was amazing! I used open table to make reservations and it was so easy to use. I recommend it to make reservations.
When my friend and I were walking to the restaurant there was a huge room off to the left side and wondered off to check it out. No one was in there, but wanted to see it. It looked like a lounge area to go and hangout. A male staff came to check on us and he was great answering our questions about the room. He happened to be the manager (Michael) and welcomed us to the place. We then went to the restaurant and was very surprised that we got a nice scenic spot. We sat at a table with a 2 person couch, but we did not feel comfortable sitting side by side. They were able to adjust the seating. It was nice to lounge on the couch after we ate all that wonderful food.
The service was great, food was awesome and the place was welcoming. We were able to taste a variety of things and by the time dessert came, we were so full that we boxed up one of our desserts. This place will not disappoint you.
Came on a Saturday night with a bunch of girlfriends for a GNO.
First comment is that the service at Stage was impeccable! From phone calls I made to the restaurant (questions about dietary restrictions, changes to our party size, etc.) to the welcoming host, to our amazing server -- we felt well received and well taken care of!
The menu was excellent, and they accommodated our party's food sensitivities very graciously. The dishes came out in a timely manner and we were all served at the same time so no one was waiting for another to begin. Each dish was plated beautifully and the portions were generous, but not overwhelming. I ordered the grilled King Salmon, which came out tender and not dry and perfectly seasoned. Others in our party had the pork belly, the shrimp scampi, the shrimp scampi -- modified for a vegetarian, and the sea bass special. Everyone had great things to say about their dish and how the flavors all came together very well.
Palate cleansers were served in between courses, which were all pleasant little surprises. We shared a few desserts but my favorite was their special for the evening, which sadly I don't recall anymore but it it had a lovely crunchy crust, a fruit coulis, topped with Tahitian vanilla ice cream. It was delightful.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and there was a live pianist playing that evening.
I would recommend this place for dinner dates, special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, GNOs), or just a nice dinner out.
Great service, great food, beautiful ambiance!
Great food and service!
Enjoyed our dinner very much! Staff was very attentive and the food was very good. The flavors were fantastic. We especially enjoyed the live music by the pianist.
Great atmosphere, service and food! Definitely will be going back!
Attentive and engaging wait staff; creative blend of flavors and presentation; warm lighting and appealing decor. Will definitely dine there again.
The service was slow and inattentive. After I was seated, it took 10 minutes for somebody to acknowledge my presence and offered the menu. Another 5 minutes for someone to bring a comp appetizer. The restaurant was not busy when I got seated, only 2 tables were occupied. After I placed my order about 20+ minutes later, I waited another 10 minutes and my salad has not arrived yet. 40 minutes had gone by and at least the salad hasn’t arrived, I had to flag down the server to ask about my order. I didn’t get try the food because I left after 40 minutes of waiting. Even for a fine dining restaurant, the wait time for salad is ridiculous. The young female server was also inattentive. I felt I was completely ignored. Not coming back to this place. Nope !
I don't think the food is as good as they think it is.
The food, service and ambiance was amazing!!! We're definitely coming back. Thank you to all the staff. The Cosmopolitan drink was the best I ever tasted!!!
Celebrating NYE. Wonderful, food as well as the service. Always great.
This was my first time and I celebrated my birthday here. It was worth it. Thank you for the amazing foods. The presentation was everything. I feel in love with everything. I made reservations for my moms 50th birthday. Can’t wait for her to experience what I experienced. Thank you again for the great service.
I do not usually write about our dining experiences, but hope people will go to Stage. The food was amazing, and the service was top notch. Great place to take a date or have a family dinner. The fact it is attached to Amuse is great also. You can co to us with drinks!
The service and food quality have improved a lot. At first we were hesitant to try the restaurant again because of the long wait. Previously, on more than one visit, we had to wait over an hour for our entree and desert to be served. But last Saturday service was really fast from serving the wine, appetizers, entrees and deserts. The food was delicious too. The Stage Restaurant has improved on all aspects and we were real happy.
Stage is simply outstanding. The service, the food, the Mui Drop cocktails. Highly recommend it.
Food was good. Fixed menu on christmas eve. A little pricey. Ambiance was great. Live entertainment too loud for dinner.
Very pretty upgrade/ renovation. Liked the “clouds and moon” hanging from the ceiling.
We went for Xmas eve dinner. It was a set menu. The food presentation was excellent especially the Xmas tree dessert.
Unfortunately, the food was not as delicious as it once was. I don’t think we will return as I can get much better tasting food elsewhere, especially, at this price.
One of my favorite spots, I always have a great experience.
Service is always amazing, the food is always prepared perfectly and tastes wonderful.
Celebration between friends
Very lovely for a special occasion! The ambiance, food quality and service will amaze you.
I forgot about this restaurant and have not eaten here in years. I went for a special birthday dinner for a friend. I was so upset I haven't eaten here in so long! I forgot how good it was. The service is great. The atmosphere and fun decor was awesome. I like the private 2 person tables. Our dinner was perfect. We ordered the tasting menu and wine pairing. Each course was amazing. I need to come back more often! I thought this was better then my last visit to Alan Wongs or Nobu. THank you for the great service and making our special occasion amazing.
Food very good. Service very slow. Chairs extremely uncomfortable. We’ve celebrated Christmas there for the last 3 years but will probably look for somewhere else next year.
I love this restaurant and I would dine here more frequently if they found a way to better manage the pace of the service. A typical scenario: 30 minute wait to get a table (with a reservation and empty tables), 20 minute wait for the drink order, 20 minute wait for the first course, followed by a 40 minute wait for entrees requires a fair amount of patience. If you have 3.5+ hours to enjoy a meal then Stage is for you. The food is divine so bring people you want to hang out with to savor the time.
We had a reservation (6pm) for three people and got seated at a table for eight even though the restaurant was not fully booked (still empty 4 tops when we left), two of the three drinks we ordered were incorrect. I was hosting some important guests and was very disappointed. The food, per usual was excellent, but the experience was very disappointing.
Stage always has amazing food and exceptional service. I would recommend this place for any special occasion.
Great restaurant! I had been there long time ago, but didn't find it memorable. While searching for fine dining restaurants, I ran across Stage, looked at the menu and decided to give them a try. The atmosphere is great. We were seated by the windows with the sofa(?) facing the window. However, My wife decided to sit on chairs opposite each other. I really like it that the tables are not so close to each other and the noise level is really low. I can actually have a conversation without needing to raise my voice. I can't stand some of these so-called fine dining restaurants (note Michel's, Nobu) that have cramp spaces and noisy environment.
The service was great. Everyone was very courteous, friendly, pleasant and attentive. We made a little mistake while ordering, but they were very patient, and didn't give us any hint of being annoyed.
The food was delicious and creative. They provided amuse buche to begin the meal, palate cleanser sorbet before the main course and a cookie after dessert free of charge. That was a very nice touch. Both our appetizers (Caesar's salad and crab cake special) tasted great. I also like the entrees (duck lilikoi and catch of the day). The duck paired with the lilikoi sauce was just perfect. The catch of the day tasted fresh and cooked (pan-seared) just perfectly. We also ordered the dessert du jour. It was a salted caramel ice cream cake with a bourbon sauce. It was rich, but not too sweet. It also has brule'd apple banana. I need to make those. Brule makes everything better. I even like the coffee. It's definitely Kona coffee: mild, little earthy, chocolate notes. low acidity.
Great experience all in all. I'll definitely go back. The best part is, they don't charge arm and a leg, unlike other restaurants. The portion of food is just right, which is slightly more than my appetite (both my wife and I are not big eaters).
Best meal that I’ve had in a long time. Plan on going back before I leave for home
Nina our server and the other waitstaff were amazing. We had a 5:00 pm reservation and tickets to the Jo Koy concert at 7:30 pm, but definitely wanted to try out the tasting menu with wine pairings. Everything came out perfectly, the food and the timing on each of the dishes were on point. In addition, the ambiance and decor was very spot on to the concept of Stage. Thank you so much for an amazing experience and the great food. Aloha, Casey
