The venue is modern, light and airy. We had very good service and our designated server was lovely, helpful and smiley. There’s a good choice of drinks. The mocktail Pina Viva was really good! Disappointing food though. Very average and one of our dishes (the miso salmon with stir fry veg) was inedible. We were offered an alternative but declined. The server was very apologetic and the price of the salmon deducted. However, it was a mediocre meal which was disappointing for a high-end hotel.

We have visited the Crowne Plaza many times and have eaten in the Stables restaurant several times and always enjoyed the food and wine selection and quality but it is the friendly and efficient service that makes the evening. We will be returning on our next visit to Chester

Only one person behind the bar at a prime time, the food was good and service was good, nice staff. Would go there again.

A most pleasant leisurely meal in a quiet restaurant (it was early on a Sunday evening). The food was so flavoursome (we had different dishes) . Paired with a nice wine it made for most enjoyable meal. Thanks to James and his team for their friendly and attentive service.

There does need be signage so you know the restaurant is in the Hotel if you're booking through Open Table as we found it quite diffuse to find and only went into the hotel to ask directions and found out it was in the hotel. The Maìtre D' was exceptional and the food was enjoyable.

A relaxing atmosphere, the restaurant itself is lovely, the staff were very professional and the service excellent and the quality of the food and the presentation was very good.We have stayed in the hotel many times and usually eat in the restaurant.

Service was exceptionally slow. We was sat there for over half an hour before we even got a drink. It took nearly 40 minutes to just take our order then that was wrong because they didn't know how to deal with a gluten free customer. They tried to fob us off with a sirloin steak that was supposed to be ribeye. We asked for it to be well done and it came out bloody. Our food all came out at different times so two of us had finished our food before others had started. There was only 6 of us. If they couldn't deal with us proper because they were busy, they shouldn't have taken the booking. It was a special meal for my 65th and it was so disappointing.

Our waiter was outstanding I didn’t catch his name but he was from S. Italy. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and helped us choose perfect meal. Great service. We had Mediterranean platter which was huge but very good value at £40 for two and we coukd t finish it
