This is a fabulous and friendly pub in a beautiful village between Camelford & Bodmin. The food truly is the best for many miles around. Everything in the menu is local and very fresh. Between us we had the mussels and asparagus as starters, which were superb then the lamb, hake, pork belly and the steak, all of which were the best we had tasted for miles around. It’s not the cheapest place around, that’s for sure and, if one had to be critical, the asparagus starter and the hake were a little on the small side. All in all, this is a pub worth visiting for those special occasion meals where quality means more than price. We’ll certainly be back.

The service was brilliant from the minute we walked through the door. The food was exceptional. This is definitely our favourite local pub despite living 5 miles away!!

We always try to pop in for a meal when we’re visiting the area on holiday and very much enjoy it when we do. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is lovely. It’s not your average pub grub so it is on the expensive side, but worth it. I had scallops followed by hake, both of which were delicious. My husband had the mussels and the steak and ale pie which he enjoyed. Desserts followed, cheesecake for me and a chocolate cremieux for hubby. Nothing to fault. Hopefully back next time

We visited for a tribute evening which very good. The food was good, but could have been warmer. My opinion was that it was well presented, quite small portions for the cost and side dishes were needed but came at an extra cost. A two course meal for 2 people with 2 glasses of wine and sharing a side dish of chips cost over a £100 which I thought a bit excessive. I have no objection to paying for a decent meal but felt this was a bit pricey. Service was good. Nice setting, but not somewhere I could afford to visit very often. Shame

Lovely food and a great place to eat unfortunately spoiled by inattentive staff who you had to chase for a menu some more drinks and eventually the bill. Which is a shame.
